Catastrophic failure after one 1.5 years

Catastrophic failure and total data after one 1.5 years use.I use use this for all my backups, games, and photo albums which is why I was devistated when it corrupted. The worst part was SEAGATE REFUSED TO REPAIR AND REFUND after failing to mention that removing the top cover would completely void the warranty even though the sticker underneath said that it would only be voided if the silver coating was removed/tampered with.Very disappointed with this and will never buy another Seagate product.

Great Product, Awful Customer Service

So far this drive has been amazing. I’m using it on a 10-year-old laptop with no scratch disk space left on it to run Photoshop. I haven’t had a moment’s worry about the drive overheating (it’s plugged into my laptop all day) or failing. It’s unbelievable fast and lightweight. However, one of the reasons I bought this specific drive was it came with a 6 month free trial of DropBox. After reformatting the drive so that Photoshop would work with it, I could not redeem the offer: I spent more than 8 hours online with Seagate customer service (over several days) but they could not or would not honor the offer. I am angry about this, but I have absolutely no recourse other than to never do business with Seagate again.

But it's excellent and easy to utilize regardless. I have a Sony Blu Ray that said it could read one as long as it's 2 terabytes or less.. unfortunately that is not working out to be true. They suggest that you use a Sony... go ahead get online and find a new one no one else has ever touched let alone at this price.. I already have another Seagate that it does recognize but it is too large at a mere 6 terabytes. Why Seagate? Because it works on all platforms including ones not mentioned. I am the trifecta mismatcher. Android (Samsung Tier 1 Only), Windows 10 (Evoo) Japanese not a snob, Macintosh iMac, These 3 charmers I use as 1 machine... Seagate is plug & play. In my many decades of electronic entertainment utilization I have had zero malfunctions just tragic accidents of no consequence as there is another perfect cross platform ready to take it's place if necessary. No waiting no support no recovery. I have my own photo shop, movie making, full editing, music composing pocket pc's , desktops, laptops, tablets, every screen from Dick Tracy to 24 feet corner to corner 4320p. All my devices regardless of cost have one thing in common fault free entertainment because of Seagate's Flexibility lennox included... so start a collection be your own cloud never breached of security. Peace of Mind in a Small Package

This Seagate hard drive has impressed me so far. It's compact, quiet, and integrates seamlessly with my Mac Studio. Pricier, but worth it.While it's only been a few weeks, my past experience with Seagate drives gives me confidence in its longevity. They tend to provide ample warning before any potential issues, allowing time to safeguard your data.If you maintain regular backups, Seagate drives can offer reliable performance for years. I'm pleased with my purchase and anticipate continued satisfaction.

Works 10/10 for ps4 games

I bought a version of this back in 2019/2020 i think during covid specifically for my ps4 as its 2TB space wasnt enough anymore. And it works great playing ps4 games off of it.I've swapped to a ps5 a few years ago, and it works just as great, it only plays ps4 games off of it, last i checked you could only store ps5 games, not use them.And even after multiple moves, being dropped a few times, put in a backpack like 100+ times, its still going strong and allows me to have my favourite ps4 games without taking up any space on my ps5s console storage or my M.2 ssd.So its absolutely worth the price imo, and its easy to set up, i had it plugged into the back of both my ps4/5 and all that shows up is a prompt asking if i want to turn it into whatever it does that ... MoreI bought a version of this back in 2019/2020 i think during covid specifically for my ps4 as its 2TB space wasnt enough anymore. If you just want a backup drive (no password), ignore the bundled software and reformat the drive as NTFS or whatever you like. Average continuous write speed is around 25 MB/s and average read speed is somewhere over 34 MB/s. There were no errors when filling the drive with pseudo-random data and reading it back to verify, which is about two days of testing.
