PF240-ARGB Water block includes a pump with multi chamber design that isolates hot and cold liquid channels to prevent heat bleeding, thus making it more effective at removing heat away from the water block. The pump motor utilizes three phase, six pole design for smoother, quieter operation compared to most single phase, four pole design. Energy efficiency also improves as well. 0.2mm micro liquid channels evenly distribute liquid flow for improved heat dissipation An automotive grade sine wave generator is used to drive the pump motor. This ensures electrical noise and vibration are kept to a minimum. It is also AEC-Q100 certified according to Automotive Electronics Council’s standard so it has great quality and durability. Automotive grade radiator is used so it has excellent anti-corrosive properties and can easily survive harsh elements that includes vapor, liquid, grease, solvent. Included PWM fan has unique ribbed edge fan blades that suppress air turbulent noise with geometry optimized for both air flow and pressure. This ensure maximum performance with lowest possible noise.

18TB HHD Good Medium for Backup Use

Will see in time how it performs and lasts. The good thing B&H is an authorized dealer for seagate if you ever have an issue contact seagate with your reciept which indicates when you bought it new because seagate otherwise would go by the manufacture date imprinted on the seagate hdd case instead. keep your receipts and enjoy this product which is my first mega hdd of this size and will fit it in a multi bay enclosure, have fun....

Got 4 of these for a Synology NAS, and they are awesome
17 May 2020

I'm loving these drives. They are a little bit overkill for a home NAS, but I wanted to build a shared volume that could take better advantage of my 10g network. I have 4 of them in a RAID10, and I'm loving the performance. In terms of noise, my only comparison is an array of 10TB Ironwolfs, and these Exos are louder. The Ironwolfs were never loud enough to be heard over the quiet NAS case fans, but the new Exos can be heard when they seek. I imagine most people buying enterprise drives don't care about noise, but when I was trying to decide on buying these drives (which were cheaper than the equivalent Ironwolfs), I couldn't find noise level data published anywhere. I would say the noise isn't bad, but I definitely have been moving frequently accessed shares back ... MoreI'm loving these drives. I imagine most people buying enterprise drives don't care about noise, but when I was trying to decide on buying these drives (which were cheaper than the equivalent Ironwolfs), I couldn't find noise level data published anywhere. I would say the noise isn't bad, but I definitely have been moving frequently accessed shares back to my old array to keep these new disks from constantly seeking during the day. If I didn't have that choice, I would probably look into moving the NAS farther away from my desk. One of the 4 drives I originally ordered died during the initial scan that was performed while building the array. This actually caused kernel panics in my NAS that rendered the web interface inoperative until I removed the offending drive, so next time I will definitely run extended SMART tests on the individual drives before adding them to an array. The RMA on the dead drive went fine. I don't have a problem with drives arriving DOA every once in a while, as statistically this is just a fact of how hard drives are built and shipped, regardless of the model or brand. And the 4 I ended up keeping are working great!

Happy so far
12 November 2023

I've had a pair of these in my Desktop with Proxmox as a base system and pass-through [GPU] Windows for my daily driver, in a zfs mirror pool using a couple of old sata ssd's as a "special" mirror in the same pool as a cache ... sort of, for ... dunno ... 2 or 3 months maybe, now, and so far no issues. Just saying here - as a quick review thingy, as I saw some people weren't so lucky. Super expensive, but still fairly competitive in pricing relative to others, for what they promise and have so far, (early days), delivered. They are mechanical: they make some noise, but it's not,too bad and I quite like it lol. :) I do tend to use it for local back-up copies and bigger media files and the like ... the ssd's are set to store very small files to improve over-all ... MoreI've had a pair of these in my Desktop with Proxmox as a base system and pass-through [GPU] Windows for my daily driver, in a zfs mirror pool using a couple of old sata ssd's as a "special" mirror in the same pool as a cache ... sort of, for ... dunno ... 2 or 3 months maybe, now, and so far no issues. But they're not ... unpleasant, when they are active. Very pleased I bought them so far. Since buying tons of hard drives since the early 90's, I do they have seem to have become more reliable, over-all, with time. I possess, maybe about 40 ish working mechanical hard drives at the moment - probably all less than 10-years old I think (rotating some as offline storage), and I'd say over the last 5-years I've had more SSD failures than mechanical failures - although SSD's are getting better too.

Quiet Cool runners
8 November 2022

Used for a DS 1821+, its only been a week but they seem to working great. They are quieter then I was expecting. Also they run fairly cool and that was nice to see as well since our rooms tend to run a little warm. I have seen some people talk about seagate drives and a high failure rate but I have never had a problem with any that were from Thailand. I have 8 of the 18tb, 10 of the 10tb, 2 of the 16tb, and 7 of the 4tb that are older than i can remember and still keep running. All are enterprise class drives. Zero failures for all the above. All the above are from Seagate Thailand manufacturing. Seagate should take notice of this fact.

Unreliable under-performer that will make you cry
28 October 2023

One of the six drives ended up failing within the one year warranty period, and a second drive caused TrueNAS Core to report that it was slowing down the already abysmally slow volume. Despite being in a 6-drive RAID-Z2 configuration, these drives performed worse than an old SD card and rarely exceeded 45MB/s from the entire 6-drive array. The previous drives (8TB HGST SAS) would deliver 550MB/s consistently in the same configuration. I've learned my lesson to continue steering clear of Seagate and stick with WD. I should have trusted the Backblaze failure rate numbers showing that Seagate has drives die at orders of magnitude higher rates than their peers.

I bought the hard drive, 2 weeks ago, the first one did not work out the box, just like one of the reviews stated earlier BUT, Scan quickly sent DPD to pick up the hard drive and within a week I was replaced with a brand new replacement. It's early days but its working like a charm, it can be a little noisy but its not enough to distract or irratate you when your doing your work. Like all hard drives, if your installing into a PC your going to lose a little bit. So I actually have access to 16.3TB.I would deffinetely buy another two at some point later, to replace my other drives. good reliable storage option
23 October 2022

I selected this drive as the 16TB seemed less reliable in tests and is barely cheaper. Moreover, I wanted the ability to replace on failure. That is where the 5 year warranty comes in. Some third party vendors resell OEM drives that lack this warranty or US origin sales. My experience is that of they fail it is the first 3 months. Once you pass that hurdle, you are typically fine. Please ensure you back up your files. One word of caution, duplicating a smaller drive and enlarging the image size may bump you into partition size limitations in Windows, resulting in unused disk space. That is fixible with third party software, but cumbersome and introduces the risk of data corruption. Instead format this disk and copy the content.I have multiple brands of harddisk ... MoreI selected this drive as the 16TB seemed less reliable in tests and is barely cheaper. very good drives

I now have four of these X24s running in my 24-drive Synology NAS system with a smattering of X18s and X20s; the drive database has been hacked to recognize them as compatible (see syno_hdd_db.sh on Github). They are all flawless performers and run at reasonable temperatures: 34-27C in the lower unit, 39-44C in the upper. Not a single bad sector with between 11K and 30K hrs on them. Highly recommended.
