It was full of chunky bark, wood chips, plastic, not what I was expecting from seed raising mix which should be fine grained & fluffy. Very disappointing from this brand, looks like cheap potting mix!

I picked this up as I needed something quick, it's not my regular brand but I use other Seasol products so thought I would give it a try. It did the job but, when seed raising, my germination times were long (an extra 2-4 days) and germination rates were low (up to about 15% lower) compared to my regular brand. It didn't seem to hold water as well as my regular brand either so I had to pay more attention to watering. The price is great as it is cheaper than other brands but it's a tradeoff in speed and the number of seeds you need to sow. I imagine it is perfectly fine if you have a packet of 50 seeds to plant for a home veggie patch but if you're buying specialty seeds in small numbers for relatively high prices I dare say it would be a good idea to try another brand.

Very poor results. I have been raising chilli seeds for a few years now and have been using another brand. When I discovered this product I assumed it would be even better than what I had been using. How wrong I was, less than 10% success, using the same process as in the past. Will not be using it again.

There wasn’t a review for this at the time I purchased it but I thought Seasol had a good name so I tried it. It was cheaper than others so I was skeptical but it did the job beautifully and the seedlings grew in no time and flourished endlessly.
I bought this a few months ago and followed the instructions, but now seeds grew despite giving them the recommended conditions to flourish by the seed supplier.Overall it comes down to the poor quality potting mix, that ended up killing my seeds.Not recommended.
Tried it for the first time as I was sick of Gnats in my mixes. It is a little chunky as other reviews have stated and I have had the poorest seed germination I have ever had. I am also trying out the Coir Seedling pots to not disturb the roots when transplanting - however I believe they may be drying out the soil and sucking all the moisture out. So I don't recommend that either for Perth Climate, even in winter. Im going back to Scotts mix and plastic seedling containers.
The soil has a lot of large barks on it. I don’t think it would be suitable for growing seeds plus fungus gnats when I purchased it. Going to return it now.
A really good potting mix for cuttings or new plants. Reliable choice.
The seedlings of lettuce and wok choy are doing well in this potting mix, as are the kale and spinach.
This stuff is rubbish. It has a lot of large un-composted wood and bark in it. Not suitable for either seeds, especially small ones, or cuttings. I found a piece of bark 6 cm x 3 cm in the bag I purchased! Seasol should be ashamed of themselves by putting their name to this and calling it seed raising mix. Bunnings to for stocking such rubbish. Maybe good for putting on the floor of a rabbit hutch but not much else!
