I used this PSU to replace one installed in a 2009 computer build. Performance appears excellent with stability in use the same as the Corsair brand. In the past I have used Corsair PSUs, but this unit gives me the impression it is just as good - although slightly lighter in weight than a comparable rated Corsair unit. Price of the comparable Corsair unit is also much greater with the same warranty in expected product life. That made this an easy choice - along with the full modular design. Of note, I have had Corsair supplied cables that arrived defective in the box. I found no defective cables supplied with this PSU despite both brands cables appear the same.

Really pleased with this PSU thus far. The unite isn't quite as long as most ATX power supplies, which is great considering how I moved from a full tower to a mid tower and there's not much room in my new case's basement for cable management. I don't know.

Everything else i just the same tiny amount of instructions repeated in a bunch of different languages. As it stands it's a little too basic considering this really is the heart of one's computer. Because the documentation was a bit too lacking I'm giving a 4/5 rating. If the documentation was ab it more comprehensive this would absolutely be 5/5, it really is a fantastic unit, just not at all well documented with what's given in the box.

The power supply is relatively quiet and seems to be well constructed. In the specs at B&H it says that the supply weighs over 6 pounds (which was really what swayed me to buy it), but in reality it weighs 3 1/2 pounds. Now if you weighed it with all of the cables included it may equal 6 pounds. However, the Corsair power supplies weigh about 3 1/2 pounds without the cables. II have built a lot of machines and based upon my experience installing this power supply this will probably be the last Seasonic power supply that I buy. There is nothing wrong with the power supply it is just that I have had significantly easier and more aesthetically pleasing installations with other vendors comparable power supplies.

Model numbers and serial numbers all match up to confirm this to be the case. So really you're getting the best of both worlds, the newest PSU with better in-PSU ripple control, as well as last generation cables with built-in capacitors to further reduce any ripple induced into the lines by other nearby electronic sources. In my book that's an unexpected but very pleasant win-win.
I just finished my most recent built after about a 5 year hiatus. Things have certainly changed for the better. The SeaSonic is so far functioning without a hitch. It is powering the I7 13700K CPU, Radeon 6750XT GPU and 32 GB of DDR5 memory on the ASUS Strix 760 F motherboard. The modular cables make for a clean install. The instructions are helpful since they recommend the best means for supplying the GPU. Excellent construction and a 10 year warranty. I recommend this power supply.

If the fan spins it's good, it says, but whether the fan will spin depends on whether your hybrid switch is on or off. If it's off = fan is on and it will spin when using the tester. The hybrid setting seems backwards to me though so watch that. Basically you need to think of that switch as fan always on = switch is down/in, and when the switch is out/off then hybrid is on and the fan will stop spinning and only turn on when load/temp is high enough. It's labeled hybrid mode so I would think that pressing it in would mean hybrid mode on but it's backwards. Edit 9/21/21 After 4-5 months it's still working well. I had to add a cable because I needed more sata power connectors and couldn't find the cables that came with this (I had put them away too well) but found another from a different brand that looks just like it. It had "Type4" on the side of the connector. It fits, looks right, but the computer would not boot up. It would click on and turn off immediately, and continually keep doing that until powered off. I eventually found the cables that came with the PSU and they have a different label on the connector (can't remember, something with a B I think) and then it worked fine. I don't know what the difference is as they look identical, but they must be crossing some wires or something. Wish that was standardized. At least it didn't fry anything.
