A Seiko with swagger

This is a very solid Seiko! Even though the movement is not the most current, bleeding edge design- it's still a work horse. It's been said that although this Samurai is a larger watch, but wears smaller. Sorry- not really. While it's not the OG size of recent fashion, it's a good, beefy size. Nothing about this watch is subtle. If you're looking for a unique, clearly different style watch with Seiko's reputation & reliability, this is your watch.

Another Seiko classic!

I already had the beloved Blumo and of course an SKX but I wanted this Samurai after watching Marc's video review of the new line. While I'm not certain I love it more than the Blumo, it's definitely a substantial watch for the money. Good heft, solid build, beautiful shape and that lume - to die for. If you can't decide between the Sumo or the Samurai, get both. You're still spending a fraction of Swiss brands and getting amazing horological precision. Thanks to Marc and the gang for fast shipment. I was on the waiting list for maybe a week, got the word the watch arrived, ordered and it was in my hands in less than a week. :)

Another hit from Seiko

I really like everything about this watch. I chose the black dial with black and silver bezel. This particular color scheme looks really sharp. The lume is extremely lumie. The dial has a nice waffle texture and apparently I have wrists like a silver back gorilla but the watch is a nice size for me. I've really become a fan of the Seiko divers. I own several and I'm very happy to add this one to the collection

Best colour and patttern combination Samurai!
10 October 2018

The watch is exactly as described - SRPB51J1 (J1 is the Japanese-made Japan-domestic market model). It is the colour scheme in the photo with the brown/black bezel and has the Clous de Paris pattern on the face. Watch is comfortable to wear and looks smaller than its size, just about perfect for 7 inch wrist. Time keeping is accurate at approximately -1 sec/day compared to mobile cell tower atomic clock. Best value for money diver currently on the market - for an auto/manual wind combination and dress looks there is no better!

Excellent Affordable Dive Watch
17 July 2017

The new Samurai combines a lot of features from Seiko's dive watch heritage in a retro yet new and attractive design. Although quite large dimensionally it sits well on the wrist. The waffle face is nicely detailed with minute, second and fifth of a second markers. By re-using very similar hands to the Seiko 'Monster' dive watch and very large and clear polished edged and lumed indices the lume is great. The aluminum bezel is nicely presented with a gray section between 0 and 15 minutes followed by the more typical solid background with 20 minute to 50 minute numeral numbering, while the sides match the winder with a cross-hatch design. It is a great new addition to anyone looking for a classic dive watch.

Great Buying Experience
5 August 2017

I ordered the watch on a Thursday and got it on a Monday, in California. The watch is gorgeous and would recommend it to anybody. The prices are almost unbeatable and the customer attention unmatched. Again, the pictures don't do justice to the watch, I am amazed everytime I buy a Seiko.

Great value but ONLY for an XL wrist.
30 March 2021

This watch is a great value! The case, movement, bezel and finish all feel VERY premium and nice. My two issues with the watch were the size, and the bracelet. You need to try one of these on in person before purchase because it's BIG and wears even bigger (think Panerai). Secondly, the bracelet - especially the clasp - feels cheap in comparison with the case and movement. The rubber strap is actually really nice, comfortable and innovative. Overall I'd recommend this for someone looking for a great value diver but only on a bigger wrist.

Seiko Prospex
11 September 2018

This is one excellent timepiece! Although it has some weight to it, it doesnt feel heavy on the wrist. Read other reviews whereas other owners complained about the design of the edgy case and how uncomfortable it felt on their wrists. In my opinion, the design is different from other timepieces, which is a definite plus for me. I like walking to the beat of a different drummer! So far, the watch keeps decent time...-5 seconds a day which is pretty good for a automatic. The band has the look and feel of quality. The lume is excellent! Everything about this watch shows that Seiko has been and will always be a fantastic watchmaker.

Seiko SRPB51
1 July 2017

Everything concerning Island Watches was perfect. Watch went on sale Thursday, bought it that evening, shipped out on Friday morning, was on the Wrist the following Monday. My only complaint with the Piece was I finally got hit with the Infamous Misaligned Seiko Chapter Ring.Since I've been lusting after this piece for months I decided to skip the exchange and fix it myself. Now the Chapter Ring is aligned I'm very Happy with the Watch and it's now one of my Favorite Pieces.

Sweet Watch
14 September 2017

Have had my Seiko Samurai for a few days now and it is quite a timepiece. It has gained 6 seconds over the course of 3 days, so +2 sec/day. Bezel is tight and has great movement. Dial is unique. Setting the time/date is pretty straightforward. Was only disappointed when a pin on the clasp fell out right away, but LIW was immediately responsive with great customer service so I had replacement pins the next morning and it's been perfect since. This is my first automatic watch and I'm really glad of this purchase. I would buy again from LIW and so far, am really please with this Seiko.
