Better than I expected

I was expecting the mic to be good but is much better than I expected. Extremely clear lead vocals with plenty of punch! I have been using an Electro-voice for as long as I can remember. They are great mics with excellent anti feedback circuits. However, they tend to be a little flat at times presumably as part of the anti feedback circuit. The Sennheiser has much more punch and also does not feed back even with the mic in front of my Bose PA system. If youre looking for a great vocal mic that wont the bank, I highly recommend considering this one!

Check it out, not as known outside of AV peeps, but it's a game changer!

Overall:I can't recommend this mic enough. I play bass and sing back up in a very loud band. Getting this mic and also in ear monitors has literally made me a different backup singer. I can get close and hit breathy lows and highs, I can back off and scream. It cuts through the mix and sounds beautiful.

Very nice and detailed clarity in vocal and sounds great for professional vocalists. The good thing about these Sennheiser e935 mics verses other mics are that I don't have to push my vocals as hard as other mics. This mic also has a very good feedback rejection that works absolutely well. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a professional quality and clarity microphone.

Great mic for classical opera singers
26 July 2020

We were opera singers for 20 years, and now teach and produce classical vocal music concerts and festivals. We bought a Sennheiser 935 and a Sennheiser 835 and ran an onstage comparison test. The 935 was clearer, and more natural sounding, as well as more forward in the mix. It sounded uncolored, and the way a voice should sound without a mic, just bigger and louder for out outdoor concert. We liked the 935 so much that we returned the 835 and bought another 935 so we would have a matched pair for our concerts and performances. Very happy with the results, and the singers liked working with the mic.

Lots of choices, but this was a clear winner for me
19 July 2018

Went by the GC in Asheville, NC to pick out a better vocal mic. I previously used a Shure SM58 and then went with a Sennheiser e835. Each had it's purpose. Used the SM 58 with a large PA and the 835 with an acoustic amp.As I got older, I decided go sell all my gear and downsize. I went with a Boss S1 Pro. However neither of these two mics had the sound I was looking for and the EQ adjustments on the S1 Pro were only bass and treble. If I backed off the bass, it lost warmth. If I brought up the treble, it sounded too bright and thin. I tried adding a small mixer, but still something was missing. When I got to GC, I tried every dynamic mic they had in the store. The sales person helped me narrow down my choices to the Shure Beta 58a and the Sennheiser e935. I ... MoreWent by the GC in Asheville, NC to pick out a better vocal mic. I purchased the 935, but wasn't 100% sure if I made the right choice. When I got home, I plugged in and WOW. Big difference and perfect for my voice. Found the sound I was looking for. Clear, but not too bright and warm, but not bassy. Very happy with my choice.

No regrets in this purchase

I have two Audio Technica condensers and was looking for a good dynamic mic. In the past, I've had two Electro Voice dynamic mics but sold them for the condensers. But always needing phantom power was proving to be inconvenient, especially when wanting to plug my mic directly into a powered speaker.I did a lot of research and I narrowed my choice between this mic and an Electro Voice N/D767a. I owned a 767 and I liked it a lot but I wanted to try something I've never had before and this model received high marks from users. So I took a chance without an in-store audition, and bought it.My voice is bass to low tenor. I do not like a boomy proximity effect or a harsh sound when increasing the distance from the mic. I really have not been able to capture the true sound of my voice in other mics. Most have seemed to slice off most of my voice's characteristics and leave what sounds like only a sliver of my voice coming through the speakers. Then when I go up close, the sound becomes too full or boomy. This mic allows me to sing very close and wile it does add bass response, does not add the boomy sound that I object too. I really can hear my natural full voice and that allows me to sing with more expression and personality. It's not as hot as the EV 767 but it really has a full, non harsh sound.I also play jazz flute and while this is specifically tailored for voice, it picks up my flute very well. Since this mic is a cardioid and not a super cardioid, I can play a few inches away and off center to avoid the wind sound from my breath during playing. The microphone has a nice solid (all metal) feel. Some may like lighter equipment but I like the reassuring heft this solid mic provides. The "Made in Germany" is a nice read and is not seen on many mics at this price point. I like the appearance too with the color of the wind screen.I am very happy I made the decision to buy this mic.

Review of Sennheiser E935 Dynamic Microphone
29 June 2024

Love this mic. It was a close choice between this and the e945, but the e935 seems to suit my voice better. I'm lucky enough to have a sound engineer as a friend and was able to try out a few mics at his studio. I was originally looking for an SM58 beta but this is so much richer sounding. I've been using an Audio Technica ATM41 for years that's been a perfect match for me but this is the first mic that's actually outclassed it for me.

This is the best mic I have ever owned
18 March 2024

I did some research for t eh best performance mics available and saw the E935 ranked #2, but was more reasonable priced than the #1 mic so I gave it a try. I got a chance to try it yesterday in a performance situation and was able to hear what a difference the mic made. It is very responsive, has great character and there was no issue with feedback. If you are looking for an upgrade, this is the mic you should try.
