Simple, lightweight design, without any extras we didn't want like a microphone, tons of padding or inline switches (we've had all of these features fail on other Sennhieser products). The ear pads fit my small ears, but I would agree with other reviews that they are small. The padding on them is super comfy, though. Best feature is the sound, which is good value for the price. This is the cheapest I've ever paid for Sennheiser headphones.

My wife bought me this as an early Christmas present to replace a cheaper set of headphones: not Sennheiser! I have used the HD300 with my Cowon Plenue D portable audio player mainly to listen to classical music recorded on the Plenue mostly in Apple or Free Lossless formats. The sound quality on the HD300 is well balanced with the bass components of the music very clear on the right channel and so I have not had to change the L/R settings on the audio player. This will be particularly useful when learning new choral works. I have found the headphones easy and comfortable to wear even for long periods of time, I also like the way in which the HD300 can be folded into a compact form for storage. So far I have not had any problems with these headphones.Overall the ... MoreMy wife bought me this as an early Christmas present to replace a cheaper set of headphones: not Sennheiser! These headphones were a pleasant surprise. The sound is surprisingly meaty, three-dimensional and detailed. The ear pads aren't big enough fit completely over my ears (which are of average size), but sit on top fairly tightly and exclude a reasonable amount of external noise. The phones fold up, which is of no benefit to me but hasn't caused any problems so far.

My feedback is similar to most on here. The sound is really good and the quality is excellent. It's a great price point too, for what it is.The only drawback for me is that my ears hurt after a while, I don't think I've got overly large ears and think they are pretty average-sized. My son (11) has a pair of these too and he has no complaint. He wears them for HOURS!!So good quality yes, worth the $$, but not so comfy on the ears if you're an adult.
I already have a Sennheiser headphone, but it's been 4 years (also from B&H), and it has gotten loose and some of the black leather-ette has come off (still sounds good), so it was time for another, same great brand. Went back to B&H, not in person, but this time online using the app. Received package to my p.o. box. Sound is great as expected, stereo prevalent, seems almost noise-canceling. Happy with these aspects. The vinyl seems better than last time, and I hope it won't tear as I do wear glasses and the frames do push onto the earpiece. A bit snug, but will get use to it, will loosen up in time. Can always move each side/ear up or down for comfort. Spent enough for what it is, could spend twice, but this is enough. A bit snug, but will get use to it, will loosen up in time. Can always move each side/ear up or down for comfort. Spent enough for what it is, could spend twice, but this is enough. Only problems: cord/cable too short, about 3', when I need about 10' for watching TV. Had to purchase a separate cable for about $7, later and elsewhere, which added about another 6'. Had I known, would have ordered cable at same time as initial order. I have no idea why they made this so short. Last time, cord was about 10' without having to add to the cost, plus it was only about $40 then, not $50. Also, for some unknown reason, they made the jack at a right angle, when it's usually straight. As long as it worked with the added cable, I guess it's okay. I would recommend this headphone. I feel you can't go wrong with Sennheiser.
I was looking for wired headphones to connect to my synthesizer. Great fit and the cushioning reduces ambient noise. Whats more interesting, let’s say you are learning to play a song and if you have a pair or airpods, you can put them on then over the top you put Sennheiser HD300 to hear sound from your phone as well as synthesizer or digital piano. And both fit fine over your ears. The quality of HD300 sound is superb for the price range.
Awesome noise cancellation options. Very Good sound quality. Stay charged for ages. One issue I can't silence is audio pauses every 5 seconds in certain video settings. Can't work it out. But I still love them. They also fold neatly away, switching off upon closing up the ear pieces. Connect readily to my iPhone and laptops. Comfortable to wear even in smaller heads. No pressure on the head for larger sized ones!
Pros: Very clear sound and well balanced from sub-harmonic bass to treble. As well as listening to music, I play my bass through these phones and they pick up all the tones and frequencies down to E (approx. 40hz) very well. They sit comfortably over my ears and can wear them for a long time without discomfort (and I have no hair!). Wearing them with glasses on does become uncomfortable after a few minutes. The phones fold in 2 places to make them more compact, though they are still a little bulky for day-to-day travelling. They are quite light and seem reasonably sturdy for what appears to be a fully plastic build.Cons: Playing a 5 string bass with a low B string doesn't work as well, giving slightly muddy tones below E with low to medium gain. This is understandable ... MorePros: Very clear sound and well balanced from sub-harmonic bass to treble. The sound quality from these headphones is very clear, no overpowering bass – ideal for me and as good as a pair of ancient Sennheiser hi-fi headphones which have become tatty. For info, there is only one lead from the headphones and that is the R channel. The pads sit on my ears, not over them - this depends on the size of ears?In my ‘den’, I have a sound source which is split - a Y-lead with a jack plug to the source and 2 jack sockets as output (all 3.5mm). One socket is connected to a pair of PC speakers and the other to the old headphones. Both are permanently connected. During the day, speakers are switched on as well as the headphones. In the evening, I switch the speakers off and use headphones only. However, when connecting these headphones, the sound volume to the speakers is significantly reduced and so I have to disconnect the headphones if I want to listen through the speakers. It is as though the sound signal to the headphones is taking preference over the signal to the speakers.I will live with that until I find a solution that will enable me to switch off the headphones, to use the speakers without disconnecting the headphones and without affecting the sound quality. I have now added a short jack extension lead to the headphones lead so that the constant connection/disconnection doesn’t wear out the headphones jack. The extension lead and Y-lead are easily replaceable when the connections get worn.
best headphone purchase for the casual audiophile knee deep in my first vinyl setup. memorable sound, stable connection and quite durable considering the build. i’m in love with the balance these headphones have, i do wish the design had a bit more personality but they get the job done and then some. considering having a backup pair handy.
