Start with the positives... John Lewis installed this integral dishwasher and refitted the fascia cupboard door and did a brilliant job. The fitters were really helpful, friendly and refitted the door even better than it had been with the previous dishwasher. Top job!Another positive is that this dishwasher is very quiet and even though it's advertised as being louder than our previous one that was a different make, it is actually quieter. Really happy with this aspect. It also washes and dries really well, even plastics come out well. Now the downsides, because of the cutlery rack being full width it means our large plates won't fit and whilst the top rack is height adjustable, to have it on the highest setting to accommodate our plates it then mean we can't fit ... MoreStart with the positives... So we have to have it set on the middle level to wash glasses and now looking to replace our bigger plates. We much prefer our old one's configuration with a cutlery basket and smaller central cutlery rack at the top but even that brand have changed their layout so that their cutlery racks are full width now too. If this dishwasher had come with a basket we'd be using that instead of the rack, but sadly it doesn't.We also find the top glass rack layout a poorer layout than our previous one. The left hand side holds glasses well, but because of the adjustable fold down shelf inserts on the right hand side, it means tall glasses don't sit well and are unstable. We researched long and hard before settling on this one and hope it lasts longer than our previous one which died after 5.5 years.Would recommend from a washing and drying perspective but make sure your plates and glasses fit and you are happy with the top rack and cutlery rack before buying.

In particular there is hardly any space in the middle drawer for bowls to fit properly. I complained to Bosch about this and they said that's how it's designed and there is nothing they can do. They offered no help at all.I cannot recommend this machine.I'll put in a complaint to Bosch about 1+2 and see what they say. As mentioned, they did nothing about item 3.

Plastics come out ready to go in the cupboard most of the time, and the only time they don't is when they've not been stacked properly, or the machine overfilled. In fact, the machine dries so well (!!) it melted a water bottle that was position at the rear of the bottom rack. On reading the manual the bottle should not have been placed there as it was too close to the heat exchanger.Smart controls - I honestly thought this was a gimmick BUT I have to say that I love the ability to save my preferred programmes and start the machine remotely from my phone. We just add a new tablet when we unload the previous wash and then it's ready to go. It also seems easier to cancel a programme using the smart controls compared to using the panel so there's no waiting around for the machine to reset itself. Integration with Google Home Assistant was not something that we used, which is just as well as the latest software update (May/June 23) removed it.Opening/Closing - seems very sensitive and the slightest amount of pressure will cause the door to open. We have fixed this by switching on the child-lock, even though there are no children in the house. It now means we have to press the door 3 times for it to open, but this overcomes the annoyance from the constant opening we experienced before. We've only had it 3 months, but if this machine is as reliable and lasts half as long as it's predecessor, we'll be very, very pleased indeed.

Good Points: Time remaining projected onto floor. Good choice of low energy programmes. 5 year warranty offer. Fully stainless-steel washing chamber. Even quieter than the previous one. The worksurface does not get as hot, which I take as sign it's using less energy than its predecessor.Improvement Points: The installation instructions are difficult to understand unless you have installed one before. Very graphical, they show - or kind of show - you what to do but not why (or what to avoid, and why). A simple, generic Bosch integrated dishwasher installation video which explains the important things you have to get right would save a lot of time watching YouTube videos and cautious thinking on the day of installation. Perhaps there is one already on the Bosch site ... MoreGood Points: Time remaining projected onto floor. Good choice of low energy programmes. 5 year warranty offer. The stacking system is a disaster, even adjusting the mid rack doesn't help. The glasses and cup rack(the middle rack) can only take small cups and glasses in the high position and when you lower the tray/shelf the spray arm catches on the dinner plates leaving the dishes dirty. It would appear that all our cups, glasses and crockery require to all be replaced such is the disaster that this stacking system is. I don't think any engineer tested the stacking system at all.The tablet dispenser drops the tablet into the handle of the cutlery tray where it doesn't dissolve so the dishes are still dirty at the end of the cycle, this is another design fault. The Bluetooth connection doesn't work at all, totally useless, yet another design fault! The programmer ... MoreThe stacking system is a disaster, even adjusting the mid rack doesn't help. Another design fault. This is a replacement for our old Bosch dishwasher and we never had any of these problems. I really regret buying this dishwasher as it is an overpriced disaster.
We've had the dishwasher for 2 weeks and (so far!) it exceeds our expectations. The installation was straightforward (luckily with someone helping that instantly understood the kitchen unit door fitting video and made it look simple!). Although fitting in the same space, it seems roomier that our previous machine and is much quieter in operation. The main programmes are simple to understand and the "modifier" controls on the other side of the keypad are very logical. Setting up the phone app was easy, although apart from making it easy to set water hardness and rinse aid settings initially, I can't imagine I'll do much with it. I'm hoping I'm not ever going to need the fault diagnostics! It's quite amusing to see a message that comes in at about 2 o'clock at night ... MoreWe've had the dishwasher for 2 weeks and (so far!) it exceeds our expectations. But the message may be useful sometimes! It's very easy to load and unload and cleans perfectly (again, so far... we haven't given it much of a challenge yet, but I think it's up to it. The extra drying is excellent, even for plastic items. Things are still slightly warm 6 hours after program finish. In conclusion, we're very happy with it!
Bought this to replace a 10 year old Neff that failed. Very happy with it. Like the projected information on the floor to let us know how long before it finishes. Good selection of programmes and push to open works very well. Can be a little frustrating if you lean against it.. Not entirely convinced about the cutlery drawer at the top.. Was one of the things we wanted but hadn't had before. Works well but I feel it compromises the top pull out drawer. We can no longer fit wine glasses up there unless we drop the height of it.. That then means we can't fit large dinner plates in the bottom drawer.. First world problems but in retrospect I may have foregone the top cutlery drawer to get some internal space back and just lived with the cutlery basket.. It connects to the Bosch app which then alerts you to fill salt/ rinse aid etc. Handy as we already have a Bosch washing machine and dryer connected to it so it's all in one place. Only thing I would have liked... and it's only available on the next model up (which we didn't feel justified the additional cost) is a light. Very handy if opening at night. We really like it on our washer and dryer and freezer.. Didn't get it on the dishwasher.. Light would have been the cherry on the top. Next time! All in all very happy.
With my old dishwasher on it's last legs, I've been paying a bit more attention to dishwashers and their features. I'd come across a few dishwashers that automatically open at the end of a cycle - this seemed like such a no-brainer it became one of the main features I looked for when my existing dishwasher finally gave up the ghost.Bosch's website is not great when it comes to comparing their products and which features they do or don't have; even within the same series products specifications are listed inconsistently. I found this Dishwasher on AO with the 'EfficientDry' feature clearly and prominantly advertised; unfortunately they didn't have as quick delivery available so I bought the same product from another retailer; this one didn't mention the 'EfficientDry' feature at all (either to state whether it is present or not) but reviews on the bosch-home site refer to the mechanism that automatically opens the door. The dishwasher was delivered and I installed it - since it's a fitted Dishwasher there's calibration required once the door is attached to account for the different weights of door and ensure that it opens an appropriate amount. I can press on the door and a motor releases the latch and the door opens slightly. However, it doesn't do that at the end of the cycle. Bosch confirm that this isn't a feature on this model. Since I didn't buy the machine from the retailed who was advertising this feature, I can't really go back to them, and Bosch plus their other reseller neither explicitly confirm or deny the features existance in their marketing. The dishwasher clearly has all the hardware required for the feature, but it's just not enabled. Whilst the rest of the machine works fine, I'm left disappointed.

But I can't see many dishwashers having this feature now and in my budget.Installing was quite easy and and we have done it together with my husband.
We have previously owned Bosch Diswashers for the last 25 years and when we moved into a new-build home were supplied with a cheaper brand as part of the turnkey installation. The cheaper brand gave nothing but trouble and did not even last the five year warranty period we had paid for.
