This is the first Shark vacuum I have owned and it will very likely be the last!A family member of mine had recommended Shark vacuums to me because they have a Shark IZ202 cordless vacuum that they absolutely love. When I first had a look at the Shark website I really liked the Shark Cordless Detect Pro With Auto Empty System (IW3611), so after reading a couple of reviews which made it sound very good I decided to buy it back in Oct 2023.Unfortunately, the battery life on this vacuum is dreadful! On a full charge I barely get 25 mins running time out of it, which is deeply disappointing for a vacuum that isn't even 1 year old, yet.I looked into purchasing an extra battery with a separate charger, so that I could use both batteries to try to clean my entire ... MoreThis is the first Shark vacuum I have owned and it will very likely be the last!A family member of mine had recommended Shark vacuums to me because they have a Shark IZ202 cordless vacuum that they absolutely love. When I contacted Shark's support team in Feb 2024, I was advised that they are "still in the process of waiting for spare parts for the IW3611 to arrive in Australia". I just checked the Shark website there (July 2024) and can see that they still don't have any accessories listed for this vacuum model. This is incredibly disappointing!I wish I hadn't bought this vacuum and hope others will not make the same mistake I did.

I have an older shark cordless stick vacuum that was on it's last legs. Shark vacuums have been good to me in the past so after careful consideration, I chose the Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto Empty system because it had the best reviews of the current Shark cordless models. I have a very small (1300 sq ft) house with mostly hardwood and tile floors, one low pile area rug and a few low pile runners. It is just me and my husband, no kids, and we vacuum regularly so, the floors are lightly soiled. My new vacuum arrived two days ago and I was excited. The first thing I noticed about the unit was that the dirt cup is miniscule. I mean, it is tiny. Not that big a deal, that's what the auto empty system is for. The first thing I noticed about the unit was that the dirt cup is miniscule. I mean, it is tiny. Not that big a deal, that's what the auto empty system is for. I followed the instructions to put it together and made sure to fully charge the battery prior to first use, per the instructions. I charged it overnight, just to be sure. The battery lasted 19 minutes, from 8:03am to 8:22am, on a full charge. I didn't even get through half of my small house. I didn't even fill the tiny little dirt cup. I thought, this has to be a fluke, so I decided to recharge and go again. It took 3.5 hours to charge. I decided to keep it on the charger overnight again, to be sure, and the second charge only lasted 22 minutes before it died. I didn't even get through the second half of my house. In addition to the awful battery life, the power and suction is extremely poor. It takes multiple passes to pick up small bits of debris and still leaves dust behind. The auto detect shows no debris detected when I could clearly see dust and debris that was not picked up. It does not pick anything up at the edges of the floor unit so, you have to either use the handheld or sweep out anything that is up against baseboards or edges to be able to vacuum it up. The nozzle in the handheld is so bulky, it doesn't get close enough to baseboards to suck anything up so then you have to switch to the edge tool. Getting under furniture is necxt to impossible. It's super frustrating.Very long story short, my older model did everything I needed it to do in short and easy order, and this new model is basically useless to me. I tried calling customer service to ask if this was normal and they were no help whatsoever. A vacuum that requires more than 2 battery charges to vacuum 1300 square feet of lightly soiled space is absurd, especially considering it takes 3.5 hours to charge the battery. Charging $450 for this garbage is a joke. I will be returning and will likely no longer be purchasing Shark products.

Great vacuum for every day use!Love that it is always charged and ready to go. My 12 year old loves the auto empty so much that he has been vacuuming every day! It does make a near noise as the dirt gets sucked into the base! This machine is very maneuverable, making it great for getting into tight spots in and around the kitchen and bathrooms. It does a great job on our heavy duty floor mats by the doors. This vacuum sucks up every bit of ick on the tiles, laminate and vinyl flooring. On carpet the performance is okay, not a good as my high end stick, but likely good for the average home. We have some low to medium pile carpet and an area rug and, when set to turbo, it does an acceptable job of cleaning up.I would love to have seen a couple more attachments ... MoreGreat vacuum for every day use!Love that it is always charged and ready to go. I opened it and the smell was definitely not neutral, it was very strong and fragrant. We keep our home as low scent as possible. I wish it had come with the option of an unscented one or one you could add some essential oils or dried herbs to.Overall I would definitely buy this again, definitely when on sale because 599.99 is too much in my opinion. We like that it is quiet, has its own docking station (that doesn't need wall mounting), and is pretty effective and efficient.

The less dust / cat fur, the better! As I unboxed the vacuum, my husband and I commented on how each part wasnât stored in plastic - I was able to recycle all of the packaging, which is a huge bonus in my eyes. The vacuum comes with the vacuum, plus four attachment heads, the auto emptying system and an odour neutraliser cartridge.Setting it up was very basic (which is a plus for me as someone who refuses to read instructions) and I started charging it immediately. After a few hours it was fully charged and I was ready to unleash it on my cat hair / leftover-crafts-filled floor. We donât have a huge house, so I found the Shark Cordless Detect Proâs battery lasted through-out all three bedrooms, plus the lounge and kitchen / dining area. One charge was enough for me to get everything vacuumed up.The first thing that is noticeable, is just how light the Shark Cordless Detect Pro is - this means itâs able to be used by even my children (much to their disgust), and because it was light, it meant it was extremely easy to manoeuvre.I found the suction power to be really good - I have no complaints about it. You can always tell how good a vacuumâs suction is by how much debris it picks up; specifically animal hair, which we all know can embed itself in the carpet and can be harder to get out.Getting underneath furniture was not a problem as I was able to adjust the angle of the vacuum pole - thereâs a button on the back which unlocks it and means you can get under cupboards, couches, chairs, etc so much easier.According to the Shark Cordless Detect Proâs website, it has â4 ultra-intelligent deep cleaning technologies that detect & react to messes in your home. It automatically boosts power on hidden dirt, increases suction on edges and corners, optimises cleaning based on surface type and illuminates hidden debrisâSo naturally I put it to the test. We have carpet around 80% of our house, and wooden flooring in the kitchen, and it easily adjusted as I went. I noticed in the kids' bedrooms (especially my daughterâs, who loves having the cats in there) that it boosted the power to suck up more debris. I appreciate this!Watching the vacuum light up as it got into darker spaces was also greatly appreciated. Especially for my aging eyesight (LOL)Because we have the Auto Empty System, once I was finished vacuuming, I simply popped it on charge and it automatically emptied into the dock. It can hold up to 30 days* worth of dust and debris - which means I donât have to empty it after each use - which ultimately means less dust exposure (vs traditional emptying).Honestly this is one of my favourite features about the Shark Cordless Detect Pro - and the fact that the Auto Empty System has a special odour neutraliser.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the Shark Cordless Detect Pro did around our house (esp because we have children AND pets), and I wouldnât hesitate to recommend it to other people.
Hi potential buyers - This is amazing Vaccum cleaner, exceeds expectations! Key USP. No matter how dense the dust is collected, as soon as you hang the vaccum on the stand, within 2 seconds suction starts and runs for approx 6 seconds emptying it and transferring the content to the container.2) Hair management: Its ZERO hair in the roller. Zero means Zero. I have been using it for a month and never had I found any strand of hair left on the floor or around the roller. Hats off to the Shark Team for designing this roller.3) Large Container - kept my 4 weeks worth of vaccumed & accumulated dust and dirt, long hair and was easy to empty directly in my dustbin, without touching any of the dirt.4) Product comes with 5 Yrs warranty. And cherry on the cake is BestBuy's 2 year protection plan already covering it, so its great to be their Total Tech Protection member, no extra cost to pay for product protection. In fact, I had to return a Tineco beyond return window and then I bought this one and what an amazing decision that has been proven so far.Look at the pictures to help you make the decision like I did. Please make sure whichever you buy, should have Auto Empty Feature and you'll thank me! :)

This is especially beneficial for those with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.Another advantage of the Shark - Detect Pro is its impressive 60-minute runtime. The long battery life allows for extended cleaning sessions without the need for frequent recharging. This is particularly useful for larger homes or those with multiple floors. The white and beats brass color combination gives the vacuum a sleek and modern look that blends well with any decor.Overall, I highly recommend the Shark - Detect Pro Auto-Empty System, Cordless Vacuum. Its auto-empty feature, powerful brushroll, HEPA filter, and long runtime make it a top-notch cleaning companion. Say goodbye to the hassle of manual emptying and enjoy a cleaner home effortlessly.

Step by step I've invested in other products to help my cleaning and save me time. The best uses I found for the Shark vacuum it definitely removes dirt and animal hair from my rugs and fabric furniture. It's definitely easier than pulling out the Shop-Vac to get in corners and nooks and crannies also for the random times cat litter is thrown out of the box quick and easy. I clean my car interior using the actual floor attachment with spinning brush throughout my car wherever I can use that and looking at the bin it is amazing how much dust and dog hair it can get over my shop vac and the brush roll has yet to have any Tangles of hair on it for almost a month and a half of use.Not all rugs are created equal and most of mine I can use the auto feature but a couple I use the Eco Mode because the rug will not lay still and can get jammed up in the brush but in the Eco Mode it still does a great job of pulling up hair and dirt without trying to suck up the rug. I also use it on my bed when changing sheets and it's amazing to see the kind of dander or skin or whatever you want to call that can be trapped in your mattress. I also use this to clean the ash out of my pellet grill.Battery life is short but there is a meter that you can see how much power you have but the suction and cleaning ability for rugs and carpets and any such items to me makes this item worth having and if I have to I prioritize my task with it before my cleaning days. Use it a little while put it back on the charger, let it empty do some other cleaning for a little bit and come back for it for a different area and have yet to actually run out of battery power during a task.
This vacuum looks nice and I love the charging and self-emptying/cleaning base. Thatâs really about it. There is nowhere on the vacuum to clip the attachments that come with it. There is a clip on the base to place ONE attachment, despite the vacuum coming with TWO attachments. If you are like me and use attachments to clean your house, this vacuum is very inconvenient. You will need to carry the attachments in your hands or pockets in order to have them available for use while cleaning with this vacuum. I have owned four Shark Lift Away vacuums, so they are what I am used to. With the Shark Lift Away models, going from floor mode to wand mode is basically seamless. This cordless Shark vacuum is much more difficult to switch from floor mode to wand mode while in use. There is also no light when using the hand/wand mode alone.. and, again, no way to conveniently bring the attachments along with you. The battery life is terrible. They promise 60 minutes of run-time but the fine print says *in Eco mode, using hand vacuum only*. Well, the default mode for this vacuum is Auto, which causes the vacuum to rev up when it senses carpet or more particles and that drastically drains the battery. On a full charge, when using this vacuum in the default Auto mode, I get 15-20 minutes of vacuuming a combination of carpet and hardwood. That does not work for me. I will be returning this vacuum.
Who doesnât love to vacuum? Well, most people. But, if you have to do it, it might be nice to look forward to some aspect that makes the job easier, more effective or stylish. The methodology is not too different from that of a toilet in the restroom on a plane, that when flushed, allows for rapid removal of contaminants courtesy of powerful cross-airflow. The debris in the holding chamber of the base could potentially be unpleasant smelling (think pet hair), so there is a replaceable, anti-odor cartridge that is employed to counter this. There was no indication in the documentation that I recall to suggest the life of the cartridge.A pleasant design surprise is the inclusion of an easily removable battery that would potentially allow for a larger home to be vacuumed at one time, with the purchase, and use of, spare battery pack(s). I assume that the original battery pack, XBTR625KSL is available for purchase as spares. Thankfully, this feature is becoming more popular in the industry.Other differentiating features of this model include a reactively lit, over-articulating motorized floor attachment to spot and vanquish your debris, and vacuuming modes that include Auto, Eco, and Boost modes. Within the definition and use of the Auto mode, lies four dirt detection methods that the manufacturer describes as; DirtDetect that identifies higher levels of dirt and boosts the vacuum accordingly, FloorDetect that responds to surface changes and responds for optimal vacuuming, EdgeDetect that responds to edges and corners and increases suction to pull out anticipated dirt from hard to access corners and edges, and finally, LightDetect that illuminates dark areas to help you see and direct the floor nozzle to capture hiding debris. The modes other than Auto are Eco and Boost and as you can imagine, Eco attempts to maximize battery power and Boost says, to heck with it, I am going to suck up that dirt as fast as I can, with gusto, until that battery flat-out dies. Also, in Eco and Boost mode, none of the auto-mode features are activated. Another positive attribute is the omission of a trigger switch requiring a user to have to constantly press a trigger to run the vacuum. I know my fingers and hand cramp up after awhile when using a vacuum with that requirement. In the past, I have transitioned from every kind of previous style vacuum imaginable and with each rendition and newly imagined format of vacuum device, comes improvements, and this model falls squarely into that camp. Time will tell how the differentiating features will prove themselves, but so far, I am mostly happy with the performance.Minor issues on the dark side:The vacuumâs white and black âstorm-trooperâs dormâ esthetic is interesting, but may not be to everyoneâs taste. The automatic modes of this vacuum are constantly varying the motor speed, beater head speed, and vacuum noise in response to the detected dirt environment. Whereas, that is probably a good thing for short-term performance, I canât imagine that the battery and motor life isnât going to be impacted long term, plus itâs just a little annoying, noise-wise. In addition, although the flat-floor-vacuum-performance (such as when used on hardwood and tile) is very satisfying, Iâm slightly less impressed with the beater performance on carpet, from the aspect of lofting the fibers to the extent that you can feel the difference when you walk over a newly vacuumed section. Suctioning dirt and hair from the carpet, seems to be competent, and I have no anecdotal evidence to indicate otherwise. The dust collection chamber is on the small side and suction is noticeably inhibited when there is a large amount of debris in that chamber, prompting more frequent evacuations at the charging base.Included documentation is a bit dated-looking, unimaginative and minimal at best. Although to be fair, it is indicated as a, âQuick Start Guideâ. Iâm sure that with a little effort, an identity-enhancing improvement could be employed, perhaps cloning design elements from the sales-oriented portion of the website, as opposed to the QR-code-linked support site which to me, suffers from disarray due to numerous, confusing, and unorganized model numbers. Also, in this Quick Start Guide, the hand vacuum storage clip is shown located on the main wand which makes sense, but trying to figure out how to mount the Hand Vacuum Accessory to it, is a whole nother kettle of fish. Perhaps either a drawing showing how itâs supposed to fit, or perhaps supplying a part that actually fits, would be a solution.Lastly, when you align the unit vertically, it locks the floor nozzle to an angle of 90 degrees to the wand. However, when locked in this position, the vacuum is not balanced sufficiently to allow it to stand up on its own. I donât see a benefit to this locking mode, considering that it is aggravating to regularly have to unlock the floor nozzle to go back to the normal angled vacuum mode (requiring you to tap it into position with your foot).Overall, this product is a useful, effective, and mostly satisfying product that has a few minor shortcomings in performance and documentation support.
