I think this product has been designed for people with long hair. You can buy smaller curlers separately, but it would be nice if the set had come with a choice of the size of curlers. So would i recommend it to others ? Yes I would, but if your hair is of short or medium length with layers, be aware that you may not be able to make use of the auto wrap function.

It did take me a little while to get used to but once I did, I was going great guns and got my whole head done pretty quickly. I do have to echo other reviewers though with regard to the curl staying in. My hair has always been pretty useless at holding a curl but barely held one at all with this. Its possible it would work better with other hair types but I reckon for a 'proper' curl, don't give up your tongs. Whilst I may not have achieved a curl, it did leave me with a nice bit of movement.The next time I used it, I tried the smoothing paddle brush. It worked really well and managed to miraculously smooth out the kinks/weird wavy bits that I tend to have on the underside of my hair. What I didn't do for me however, was smooth out my frizz and flyaways.Lastly, I tried out the oval brush which is my favourite piece. I blow dry my hair until its 80% dry then section it off in layers. I use the attachment in a similar way that you would have a blowdry at the salon but having the hairdryer and brush all in one, drying and brushing from the underside and curling under. I do this all over and am left with a lovely, bouncy blowdry with no kinks or wavy weirdness. Honestly the best blowdry I have been able to give myself and I have been doing this a long time. It also definitely was quicker than your more conventional styling methods.The only thing is that for someone with frizz issues, it will not tame your frizz. After my blow dry I did go over it with my straighteners to smoothen. Not a full on straightening session, just the top layer to make it look sleek without compromising on volume. This combination worked really well and last three days until my next shampoo.In short, I'm really happy with it but that is on the understand that I cannot perform miracles with certain hair types. I fine with that because it has still saved me time and excessive use of heat and given me some really great results. I would advise just being realistic about your hair type and the results you would want to achieve. I think if I had purchased another very well known brand which is double the price, I would've regretted buying it but as it stands I'm really pleased and I'm sure with time, I'll get better at using it and glean even better results. The case is good too but the package is quite heavy when it arrives so be mindful of that when you get it delivered to work and then have to lug it home on a train, two tubes and a 15 min walk!

However it did not take long to realise it did not live up to its claim. Dyson have done a new model where it only has one curler and it changes the direction with a switch. Maybe Shark would look at this in the future.The pros, I like the result from using the flat and round brush. Even though my arms are killing after, I get a beautiful sleek look without having to further straighten my hair. I like the big wavy look I get with the curlers and it is tremendous fun to style. If you have thin hair, do give this a go. I also have not noticed any damage to my hair in particular.I was looking for a product to replace my hair dryer, sort of like a one stop shop for styling hair. My recommendation? Stick to your normal hairdryer, straightener and curl wand for now until a revised model comes out, this feels like a test product for me, and weāre essentially paying for Shark to realise what works and what not.I was very excited for this but it did not exactly live to the expectations. I've been wanting to try this styler and the TSV price was excellent compared to other retailers. I've tried numerous hair tools looking fot the holy grail and hoped this would be it and it almost is. I love thr hair dryer function with the concentrator nozzle much better than the Dyson airwrap dryer which blows hair all over the place. The oval brush is great for a smooth, bouncy blowdry even on my bob length hair which I wasn't sure about as it is fairly large. The negatives are the curlers, they dont work for me even if I achieve a curl it drops immediately, maybe my hair is too short but basically I think more heat is needed to hold a curl and the half brush is not for my hair type. The bottom line is I like it but as I will only use 2 of the tools it probably ...Ā MoreI've been wanting to try this styler and the TSV price was excellent compared to other retailers. I've tried numerous hair tools looking fot the holy grail and hoped this would be it and it almost is. I love thr hair dryer function with the concentrator nozzle much better than the Dyson airwrap dryer which blows hair all over the place. The oval brush is great for a smooth, bouncy blowdry even on my bob length hair which I wasn't sure about as it is fairly large. The negatives are the curlers, they dont work for me even if I achieve a curl it drops immediately, maybe my hair is too short but basically I think more heat is needed to hold a curl and the half brush is not for my hair type. The bottom line is I like it but as I will only use 2 of the tools it probably isn't worth the cost.On a separate note why on earth do all these comapnies concentrate on long hair there wasn't one model on the presentation with shorter hair. Can't they see they're missing a massive market there must be thousands more that would buy their products if they catered for us with smaller attachments eg a smaller oval brush and a round brush or two for fringes and shorter layers.
I have fine, thin hair in a chin-length bob. It never holds a curl, even if something is swanky enough to even get one in there; so I fully expected the usual buyers remorse moment from seeing how many of the attachments arenāt relevant to my hair type. Sadly thatās the norm for us finer haired folk but it still feels like a kick in the guts and I do wonder how many returns are from said hair type group as it can feel like weāre being charged for something we were never going to be able to use. Well great, they all delivered that ābendā, but i had to restrict use to strictly special occasions only because of how every one Iāve tried thus far had too much fry factor: way too hot; way too difficult to use as way too hot; and with maybe 3 different heat settings that were just variations of too hot/way too hot/frying yāall alive hot; and a cool shot function that was warm if you were lucky.Enter the Shark Flexstyler, and seeing that oval brush was like catnip to me. Like a hopeless addict (ok, maybe I should have said cocaine, because now yāall think I snort catnip) (waitā¦just to reassure you I donāt snort cocaine either) but anyway I just had to try it, hoping that this might finally be āThe Oneā and safe in the knowledge QVCās money back guarantee.Well shout out to Shark for this baby which for me has proved to the that holy grail of a super effective oval brush. No finger-burning here, definitely no hair frying and the cool shot is discernibly and significantly cooler - locking in that essential volume AND amping up the shine. This is hands down the best styler and best results Iāve ever had, and that it isnāt damaging my hair is such a massive plus as Iāve no reservations at all at being able to use it each and every day.Thereās many comments re re the lack of a round brush attachment, and NGL there are times I lament the absence of one too, but I accidentally found the paddle brush is pretty good for finishing off my fringe. Otherwise I just use a separate round brush with the concentrator nozzle, but if Shark brought out a round brush attachment Iād probably buy it for doing my fringe faster.But maybe the ultimate way to win over round brush aficionados who donāt even buy because there isnāt one and/or finer-haired hesitant purchasers who end up with a ton of stuff theyāre not going to be able to use, is to offer a baseline product (I.e. styler + concentrator nozzle) with the specific attachments as literal add-ons. Have noticed they do this in the USA so hopefully theyāll bring it here too. (Please, Shark!)
I have a Shark vacuum cleaner and love it. I have a Dyson Airwrap and love it. I wanted a second one to keep for family visits but it's a big investment. So I thought this Shark hot airstyler version would be a great and better value alternative coming from a great brand. So was delighted to see it as a TSV. Sadly it's gone back and I'll save my money towards another Dyson. Two stars for a reasonably fast hairdryer and a smart storage box with a carrying handle. However, it's astonishingly noisy, almost deafening. Sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than a hairdryer actually! It also makes your hair very hot. It's quite an unwieldy and heavy bit of kit and that makes styling very difficult. Tried both and they left a less than smooth finish. I do wish too that these brands would sell the components and attachments separately as they tend to come with a full set accessories that would rarely all be used, so you could end up storing a large diffuser that you won't need or the curling attachments etc. In trying to be all things, it seems to fall short on most. Very sorry Shark, but not impressed. Thanks to QVC for the trial period and being able to send it back!
