Manufacture date 2/21. Today is January 16 2024. Microwave stopped working this month. Panel buttons no longer work!!! Called Sharp and emailed them with all model and serial numbers. They cannot help me with their inferior product because the warranty is 12 months. Unbelievable! Its a $500 fix for a new panel. I bought the microwave for $999! Will never buy another Sharp appliance! Will be replacing with another brand shortly! DO NOT BUY!

I bought this in Spring 2021. Last fall, the control panel quit working. I went online and ordered a replacement control board. When it arrived, I discovered that the wiring harness was incompatible. In other respects it was identical to my original part. I worked with several vendors to get the older version of the part, but it was not in stock anywhere. Sharp won't sell me the compatible replacement part or back up their shoddy product.It looks like I'll have to hire someone to solder the old wire harness onto a new board unless I want to pay almost the full cost of the microwave again to get it fixed. Don't buy this unless you're fine renting a mediocre microwave for $50 a month until it dies.

On day 1 the drawer did not open & close properly nor did it heat contents. Tech sent & assessed install as proper; faulty actuator switch. Tech requested a new microwave, instead Sharp told him to twist the drawer to "realign" it. Partially fixed the issue, but has continued to happen. Called Sharp & now that am out of warranty they wont cover it. If this was a new issue, understand, but its not & Sharp jerry-rigged it. Poor customer service & not fixing workmanship issue id'd on day 1.
Hate this product. We have it 2+ years and it keeps on breaking. First time it was 9 months later. The motherboard blew up. Repair guy said we can notput too much steam on the microwave. Replacement of main keypad was over $400. This time, they say something else broke and it cost Even more. And it's about the same 9 months later. We are very careful what we put in, and how much it warm up. It's a nightmare, stay away from it. Plus it's in the island, and hard to replace with a diff brand. Sharp is not helping us at all. They just keep on taking the money

While it slowly opens.2) The control panel is a touch membrane with gray lettering on a black background. It isn't illuminated. You can't read it at night. And you can't operate it by feel because there are no physical buttons; it's just a smooth membrane. You must have external light shining on the panel in order to use it.3) You can't start the microwave by pushing the Start button. It won't close the door and start the oven. Purchased over 2 years ago, it's still complicated to set up, as it is not intuitive. I need to click random buttons 10 times until I find the right setting for defrosting. Worst though - it doesn't actually heat the food until you hit it with your fist. Food often comes out cold, that's when you haven't paid attention to the low humming of it. If you notice it right in the beginning, you have to hit the microwave in its right upper corner, the low humming changes to a more powerful one (he difference is very audible) and thats when your food will actually heat up. Kind of ridiculous for $1600 that i paid a couple of years ago...
I bought this a year and a half ago. The panel has broken twice. I have an extended warranty with PC Richard’s.The first time Pc Richard’s had a company replace it right away. Then 4-5 months later it broke again. Now they cant get anyone to fix it. It’s been 2.months now. I don’t know why they don’t use the first company again. Sharp refuses to replace it because the Sharp warranty ran out. I don’t care if it’s replaced or not, I just need it fixed! It should not take 2 months and counting. They say the cannot located the part yet Sharp states they have it in stock. It’s so frustrating. DON’TNOT BUY this product. I will not be buying any Sharps products again.
This is the first microwave drawer over we've purchased, and we absolutely love it. It has a very clean and sleek exterior with the controls hidden. The drawer opens/closes with the push of a button and has a very sizeable cooking compartment. We have this under our counter and it is so much easier to use where we lift the food up rather than having it above the range or below the upper cabinets--much safer when handling hot liquids. Also, the functions it has are straightforward and easy to use--you don't have to spend a bunch of time trying to figure it out. Great purchase!

If you forget how to use a function (for example "soften butter" or "defrost chicken") there's a cheat sheet attached to the drawer for easy reference. The clock is easy to set. Most importantly for me, this Sharp microwave is considerably more powerful than others on the market – including significantly more expensive ones; which is why I opted for the Sharp in stainless and did not replace my original Sharp with a rival brand available in white. I also purchased an appliance surge protector to use with the microwave because for all its power my original Sharp microwave could not save itself from an electric power surge courtesy of ERCOT which burned the circuitry to a crisp. Lesson learned. My advice: If you live in Texas or somewhere else with an unstable electric grid, purchase an appliance surge protector. Had I made the investment to protect my first Sharp microwave drawer I'd still have it in that coveted white color.
