This markers are very satisfying for me to use, even though I'm not an artist and my intention isn't to create beautiful works, but rather to use them as therapy. The pack only comes with five vibrant colors, and they can be used on almost any surface, which is a big plus. However, the markers are very expensive, the amount of paint that comes out is inconsistent, and it's easy to ruin your work when suddenly more paint comes out than expected, which can be a real headache. You need to shake and press them a lot to get the paint flowing, and they take a while to dry. This is a problem for me since I'm left-handed and my hand rests on the surface, making it very easy to smudge my hand and spread the paint. While they work well for tracing and painting rounder areas, it’s more difficult to paint something narrow or pointed because the marker tip isn’t very fine, so I’d say they’re not the best option for projects that require high precision. Multiple layers are needed for an even finish, and although the final result is nice, the experience can be somewhat challenging for those of us without the talent or skills of an artist.

They work well for the first few uses after awhile they weren’t as potent. It was only used for a small project and they didn’t hold color for that long. I would’ve assumed it would’ve lasted at least another 4-5 more uses. The white is also an off white. Like a light grey. I would be more satisfied if the product was $4-6 dollars cheaper. Then I’d know what I was getting myself into.

Fun project!

These oil-based Sharpies worked great for decorating coffee mugs. After you decorate them, put them in a cold oven. Heat the oven to 350 degrees and set a timer for thirty minutes. When the timer goes off, turn off them oven and remove them when they have cooled. We let our two and a half year old granddaughter use them to decorate the mugs for Christmas presents!

Great multi color option
21 October 2023

These paint marker are my husband’s favorite. He writes on just about everything from notes to parts to crafts. He uses them everyday and likes to have some on standby by so he doesn’t run out. They write on just about anything. He labels parts on the vehicle with dates when it was changed and since he is a mechanic as well he is able to let people know when parts were changed. Very helpful and vibrant colors. These are also great for crafts.

Sharpies created “Sharp” gift
7 January 2024

I needed pens to personalize a special glass gift. I asked one of the customer care employees where I could find a product that would work and she responded “let me help you “ and rather than just give me an aisle location asked me to follow her. She read labels on several products, continuing until she came to the Sharpie Pens and recommended the product would perform well for me. I used them to decorate the glass item and gave as a special gift to my grandson and granddaughter. They were very pleased with the gift and put it on display on their kitchen shelf. I had purchased the glass item while in Hawaii celebrating their wedding on Valentine’s Day in 2023. Since the Sharpies are oil based paint, the item can be washed without damaging the decoration. Steady flow!

These are so handy for so many things and I have so many craft ideas just flowing out of my head. Before I start a more detailed project I wanted to get the hang of the paint flow and practice first. I like how they kept the concept of these sharpies simple. Not to bulky and easy to hold and grip while writing. It took a bit of shaking and pressing down to get the paint flow going and I kept the package and a piece of cardboard handy to lay my sharpie on in between colors. I got the set of five and each sharpie was individually wrapped. So to get started I had some planter tags I wanted to place in my garden. Just thought it would be a cute added touch. I tried all of the colors but I didn't use the white since my tags are white. I really liked how I had control over my writing and the paint flowed steadily out without dripping and dried almost instantly. Also the paint was much brighter and bold than I thought it would be. Now that my first experience went so well I will definitely use these for the rest of my craft projects. I want to try some mugs next as gifts. I highly recommend these paints for drying fast and water resistant!

The answer to an artist's dream!
28 July 2024

These oil paint markers are the answer to an artist's dream! I gave up painting in oil years ago due to the difficulty cleaning the brushes and disposing of used turpentine, and limited my painting to acrylics. Now I can resume painting in oil again, and use my acrylics for the base or backgrounds, so they haven't gone to waste. I am so thrilled to be able to paint with oils again, no muss, no fuss, just paint! #sweepstakes

This Purchase Should Have Been Better
21 March 2023

I needed a single white paint pen for a one time use project on a metal surface. At Office Depot, they only had sets of various colors and a minimum of 4. I searched carefully, thinking that surely I could just get a single or maybe double set. But no. The set cost me over $17. I had to buy the product and it worked perfectly. I will probably never use any of the 4 items again. I resent having to pay a premium for items and quantities I did not need. I will find another way & another business when I need such items in the future. That includes paper products, pens, computer ink, etc. I'll just find another way.

UNWRAP AND PRIME FIRST AND YOULL LOVE THE RESULTS!
23 January 2023

The plastic wrap is annoying on each pen, but i can assume its for protection from leaks perhaps. Once you figure out how to get the paint to the tip it worked pretty well, but one pen never worked. The color is good and the lines are perhaps a lot thinner than the prn size leads you to believe. It worked decently writing on a wall slightly above my head level. The depth of the color is solid.PS. This was done at Angry Crab where they encourage wall art.

Useless
4 December 2023

I bought these hoping I could use them to sketch under paintings for oils. I tried directly contacting the company in order to determine if the chemistry would work or if the resultant paint film would be impermanent. First I checked everything online and only found anecdotal accounts of writing on top of oils so I contacted the company who repeated the same accounts. Then after I asked again they sent me a complex legal form with which to request the technical details of the composition of the "oil paint" in the pens. No answer was forthcoming. A real pity that makes these useless for me.
