I have been using the Shea Moisture conditioner for approximately two weeks and was provided them by #trywithtopbox as a #freeproduct for my honest review. I have fine, thin, waist length hair that is naturally blonde starting to go grey, that is prone to split ends and I would describe as normal to oily. Out of the products I was able to test this one was by far my favourite! Definitely 4 to 5 out of 5 stars. Pros: Subtle smelling, almost like vanilla; yogurt-like consistency which is not too thick but not watery either. Sits well in the hair, defined my curls a little, helped with detangling after washing & did not leave my hair or scalp feeling greasy a few days after. Hair looks healthy & hydrated. I never really used conditioner after shampoo and my coils were always defined but I tried this product because I thought it would help maintain the coils so i wouldn't have to wet my hair everyday. its until I went travelling for a bit and used shampoo and this product most days that i noticed my coils slowly disappearing and my hair becoming really unmanageable. The scent of this conditioner is very spa-like and coconutty. It is thicker than the shampoo so you can work up a decent lather. Unfortunately I have very long hair and found that it was quite hard to brush through afterward, after using both the shampoo and conditioner in the Virgin Coconut Oil line. I actually felt like it made the bottom half of my hair drier and my scalp oily. The oily scalp was the biggest downside to this shampoo. I can go usually go several days without washing my hair, but after using this shampoo and conditioner in the Coconut Oil line, I had to wash my hair almost every day because my scalp got really oily. I love Shea Moisture products but this conditioner is just not for me. If you have an oily scalp especially, this may not be for you. #freeproduct
I receive this product along with others in this line in exchange for my honest opinion. I have a curl pattern of 3A/2C and it has highlights. I was unsure at first whether this would work for my hair as the girl at the store told me it was for more of a textured typed hair rather mine. Regardless of the recommendation, I went ahead with testing this out. I was pleasantly surprised by it. The first time I tested it I raked it through with my fingers and used it on towel dried hair and then wrapped it up in a towel to dry a bit as I was concerned it would weigh my hair down. I noticed that the next morning it was more defined the curls and didn’t fall flat after a day. I love how this line does not have sulfates, silicones, parabens, petroleum or silicone. Those products provide short term results and end up weighing down my hair. I enjoyed the smell of this product and I find the tub to be quite large which will go a long.
