Great starter combo for those getting into estuary fishing. For its price bracket it’s good quality, reel can get sticky if not careful so be mindful of that. Otherwise I love how the Shimano combo works compared to other brands with the same cost. 5 stars from me, it’s gotten me some good dinners.

Have found this Fishquest spinning combo to be a good mixture between flexibility and control. It has honestly surprised me as I feel it's great value for money.I've managed to catch plenty of fish with the Fishquest combo. I'd recommend it as a good value combo to others (excellent combo for beginner's and experienced anglers alike).This combo has replaced my Daiwa Aird-X rod after it's tip had snapped.The Mono line that's pre-spooled on this reel is decent and I use it with a Flouro leader. Works a treat and honestly my new go-to rod and reel combo!

This purchase was a birthday present for one of our grandsons. I received incredible help from the BCF Traralgon staff member, sound advice, very pleasant to deal with, and found the experience great.
Yeah, it's not the best rod in the world. The reel has a lot of plastic parts in non-vital areas and the combo doesn't have any sort of 'premium' finish. You aren't exactly gonna be rocking up to your local jetty like Ferris Bueller.However I have owned this rod for a year and I can say that it has never let me down, with frequent use as my main rock fishing rod, although I've used it for a lot of other fishing too. The reel is smooth and casts and retrieves very well. The rod itself has a sensitive fiberglass tip that is effective yet forgiving, while having enough grunt in the base to handle larger Tailor and Bream.If you want a combo for less than $100 I couldn't recommend a better, more versatile outfit, but it is still just a cheap combo.
Great rod for trolling. We set it up for just trolling and deep sea jigging. We paired it with a penn reel and heavy braid. Such good quality.
Great that it’s mostly ready to go. Kids were pleased they didn’t have to wait around for too many knots. Mum can do a lot, but fishing knots aren’t something I’ve mastered!
I bought the Shimano Fishquest combo as a gift for my grand-daughter, as she absolutely LOVES fishing. It is a big upgrade from her entry-level kids package deal that she has had for the last couple of years. I love that the reel comes with a 10yr warranty, and the quality shows. The whole package should serve her well for years to come. The team at BCF Port Stephens/Taylors Beach store are terrific. An excellent entry level combo, that was bought for the grand kids. I have subsequently found my self using the combo and it proved to be more than capable when dealing with 35-38 cm bream. In conclusion the combo performance was well above expectations.
Normally fish with ABU Baitcaster reel, found out that switching to a Shimano spinning reel was easy to cast.Still waiting to catch a legal size Barra .
