After 2 months fishing with this reel, I couldn't be more thrilled with the product. I think my only gripe(and others would likely share this) is that it doesn't come with an additional spool. This reel is incredibly smooth. I've been catching primarily catfish, gar, bowfin and bass with it. I haven't had a single hiccup out of this reel after easily 1000+ casts. The drag sound is also incredibly pleasing. While the Stradic and Vanford are still very appealing reels, the Miravel may keep me from ever buying a more expensive reel simply because it's just amazing. Smooth, strong and well built. I will absolutely be buying another.

Overall, I like the size and feel of this reel (1000). However, when I received and inspected the reel, I noticed that the box was already opened (seal was broken). Then I noticed that the handle does not reliably mount on the right-hand side. It is easily cross-threaded. I suspect that this was someone else's return and they either noticed the cross threading of the handle like I did, or damaged it themselves when trying to install the handle. In any case, this is going back to LL Bean. I would typically opt for an exchange, but don't want to risk getting another returned product.

I own 6 of these reels, four 4000's and two 3000's and they are Excellent reels. These reels are the best reel on the market in the mid to lower price range. i also own several of the Shimano Stradic 4000FG's and s few of the Vandfords and this little reel feels almost as good as they do. It is smooth as butter. Now, it doesn't have the sealed bearings and a few other bells and whistles that the Stradic, and Vanford have, but it pretty darn close. Honestly, if you are somebody that is just a a hobby fisherman once in a while, you wouldn't know the difference in the way it feels compared to the Vanford. It's that nice. If you don't want to pay the extra $100 to get the Vanford, (which literally may be the best reel on the market regardless of price) Then I highly ... MoreI own 6 of these reels, four 4000's and two 3000's and they are Excellent reels. My first higher end spinning reel, only owned cheap Jarvis Walkers before this. Was weighing up a Nasci but decided to go the better option and so glad i did. The weight is so light for the price and is packed with enough features to make any angler looking to step up their game more than happy. Incredible quality and know im gonna love this reel for years to come!
I should have came to the store and looked at the reel before ordering to pick up. The 3000 series is way too small. The bail barely clears your hand as you reel. Seems like these reels are getting smaller and smaller. I have an older 2500 Shimano that's bigger than this one. What's up with that?
I paired it (1000 size) with a Daiwa Presso UL travel rod and could not be happier. It's as lightweight as it gets and my new favourite combo for rivers and lagoons (catching breams and the odd mullets with it has been a blast). Hopefully, it can withstand being thrown in a backpack when winter is over, but by the looks of it, it feels like it can take a beating!
I am an avid fisherman. I fish fresh, brackish, inshore salt, and offshore salt. I have been fishing for over 50 years since I was a tot at my grandfather's side, catching bluegills in the Monongahela River just 50 yards from my home. I grew up in one of the hottest Walleye spots ever. I now live in fishing heaven, Florida! The new Shimano Miravel is impressive.Because I wanted a couple of reels specifically for panfish/crappie fishing that I could keep spooled up with lightweight 4
I've never been a Shimano spinning reel fan until I purchased a Miravel 2500 in the morning, fished with it and bought a Miravel 3000 before the store closed. Academy Sports spooled both reels free of charge which is another bonus. Lightweight, silky smooth, great anti reverse, more drag than I'll ever use and great line management. I have other reels I paid over $200 for but I honestly believe these are better. I highly recommend these reels and will probably but an ultralight 1000. Better equipment than the price indicates.
I bought this reel (2500 size) and paired it with a Lew's Custom Pro Speed Stick (got in on sale for $90) and am using with 8 lb test fluoro. I use this set up for lightweight and finesse type fishing such as skipping senkos under docks, drop shot fishing or throwing weightless texas rigs around. Will say this reel feels really smooth and can cast a great distance without much weight. Skipping under docks is way easier with this reel also because of how smooth it is. It is definitely an upgrade from the Lew's Mach Crush spinning combo and the Lew's Mach 2 spinning combo I have. My dad is trying to get back into fishing and plan to buy him this as his first reel as well. Definitely recommend.
This reel so far is excellent. Very smooth and the line spools on evenly. Light weight and comfortable to finesse fish with. I’ve only used it a few times. The true test of quality is time. So far so good.
