Compared to my previous XT shifting levers (3x9 from 2001:-), this is obviously a massive leap forward. Shifting is light and precise. It's great to have the 2-way release option. Excellent price/value ratio.

Excellent shifter that allows 2 gears release (to heavier gears) or 3 to 4 gear pick ups (easier gears) with one push. SRAM only allows one gear to be released at a time, making a huge difference when trying to get up to speed.

Excellent shifter. I purchased this along with a matching XT derailleur to replace my Sram GX setup where the clutch failed after 3.5yrs….not bad. My decision to purchase the XT setup was based on the ability to adjust/repair clutch if need be. I really like that with the Shimano shifter you have the ability to make multiple downshifts into higher gears with one long single press of the paddle where with Sram each gear requires one press of paddle.
Nice solid shifts, bang change up bang change down, no lag or hesitancy allowing you to concentrate on your lines. Lovely tactile feel , well worth the price , a great upgrade even without changing anything else shifts are crisper.
Great quality shifter. Smooth lever feel. The double upshift feature is nice but not necessary. You would still be able to upshift quickly with a shifter that doesn’t have this feature.

I have SRAM, Shimano, and Magura components of all sorts and all levels on several bikes. Shimano components are my favorite and eventually everything will be Shimano. Typically I don't go out of my way to buy XT or higher because I don't feel like the weight savings or features are necessarily worth the money. The one exception is the XT shift lever. Something about the feel of the levers and clicks is just so much better than the SLX lever. Brakes, cassettes, etc., no real reason to by XT unless you are worried about weight. Shift lever however, XT is noticeably better.
Perhaps the besr feature is the double upshift capability. XT and XTR are the only shifters on the market with this feature. Both my kids who raced for NICA really like this feature. The shifter has a great, solid feel and lasts for years- one of my kids has had one for over 8 years and it still functions well. Highly recommend.
Usual Shimano quality, easy to set up and smooth in use worth the money over SLXNB. This EV shifter will fit older Spec ii brake levers, just change the brakes integration nut for the longer EV one(or use old nut but replace bolt with constant thread)
