The Twinpower XD in the 3000 size is one of the best inshore reels I have ever owned so much so that I have picked up an additional two. Extremely light weight with perfect ergonomics. Has probably the best stock reel handle and knob I have ever used. Easily handles fish in the 20 lb class size and with 30 lb fish if played right. Yes they are on the pricey side but for the quality and the features I think they are worth the price especially considering the price for the next level up.

I bought this reel 6 mos ago, Shimano is precision mechanics, dependable and worthy! A little pricey, but if you take care of it properly and "wisely", tis reel will endure loads of action for many years to come! Personally I love it! This is my big game surf reel!

I am extremely happy with these reels. Long time user of upper line of 4000 and 5000 size Shimano reels, Stradics, Sustains, and various Stellas. I now have 3 of the new Twin Power XDC5000 reels, all purchased from Tackle Direct. Reels are used for surf fishing, repetitive casting and fast retrievial of predominantly 2 oz. lead lures. Casting distance, light weight, and fast retrieval speed are key. The TP's are near perfect in every way. Been doing this for nearly 20 years and have used a bunch of different reels of many brands in the never ending quest to improve. These by far are the best for my use to date.As usual, great service from Tackle Direct. Courteous, fast, good inventory, and competitive pricing.

Visited Anaconda in Mackay QLD to check out this specific reel, but they only had the 6000 and up models.I mentioned to the employee that I'm really interested in getting the 5000HG, but asked him anyway if I could hold and get a feel for what the 6000 is like. He mentioned that the 5000 should be available and I can order it online and was happy to bring out the 6000 for me to have a closer look and hold.Thanks to the Anaconda employee for letting me take a closer look at the reel and it was enough for me to order one online. I was actually happy enough to even order a 4000XG for something slightly lighter for casting lures around.Both reels arrived safely and within the expected time.

Shimano Twinpower has always been a staple. Tough, rigid and reliable, but butterly smooth - you can never go wrong if you purchase one. The last generation even has the Long Stroke Spool of the Stella - which increase casting distance by 4%.
I paired this reel with my St. Croix Legend Surf Spinning Rod, Model: GSS106MHMF2 and the two together is a match made in heaven. I was using 3 to 6 ounces total weight (lure plus sinker) and the cast was so smooth and felt effortless, even into the wind. I am definitely buying the 6000 for my St. Croix Triumph Surf Travel Spinning Rod.

i bought this to replace a saragosa SW and couldn't have been happier. The Saragosa is a workhorse but the Twin Power SW is an amazing lightweight, smooth, and powerful real. It feels lighter then its listed when in use and i can fish it all day. Looks great and performs even better. Will certainly purchase again in the future.
