I bought this in the 165mm length for installation into a BB30 bottom bracket using the Wheels Manufacturing adapter. The rest of the groupset is 10 speed Ultegra 6700. Installation was very simple and the results superb to date. The crank is very stiff and the shifts smooth and quick. No problems with 10/11 speed compatibility on the front derailleur. The 24mm diameter makes the crank usable in most bottom brackets with appropriate adapters. Nothing to fault so far.

I buyed only because on my new Pinarello is group set Shimano Ultegra . I prefer on Italien bike Campagnolo and crankset was 50x34 172.5 . Now i have 52x36 and 170 . I hope I change this group for Campa.

Bought to replace a 6 yr old Ultegra 6800 chainset for three reasons: 1. 50/34 rings were showing signs of wear. 2. RD had already been replaced with an 8000 long cage, to allow a 34 cassette for 2019 ETD. 3. Felt fit enough to use 52/36 on local hills and to keep up with sprints on group rides.Cosmetics: The 8000 colour matches the RD. Modern design. Goods looks.Functionality and Gearing: Noticeably quieter. Gearing on local hills, with 32 cassette, seems OK, allowing for fitness and age. Yet to try the 34 that will meet all sportive needs.Impressed with change but kept the 50/34 for those long alpine climbs, just in case!.

Nothing to see here, it is Ultegra and probably the best semi-affordable choice on the market. Price was about right but most importantly, it was AVAILABLE! And these days that is saying something! Always confident that Jenson will treat you right on internet orders too.On the actual part being replaced... Right side crank actually split! My independent Mech. says he has seen this before, local Trek store says "No way!" Just offered here as a point of interest.
This is a great looking crank. Power transfer is equally as good as the looks. It's lightweight and comes in many different size options. I went for the 52T over the standard 50T, as I do a lot of riding on flats around my area. I find this helps minimize chainslap also when it the small cogs. If your bike came with a generic lookalike crank, I recommend this upgrade as it will add rigidity and decrease the weight of your bike.
In case you've missed the news, Ultegra 6800 crankarms are starting to blow up. My local bike shop suggested getting a replacement on eBay but who wants a used part of the same model that caused the problem in the first place? So I got Ultegra 8000 which is totally compatable and hopefully less prone to disintegration. Fair price from Jenson, and quick shipping.
This crankset is chunkier than it's predecessor. The drive side crank arm appears a couple of mm thicker.I don't know if this is to address the well known debonding failures of the 6800 version. ( I've had 2 fail on me).Time will tell as I know folk who've had debonding with the 8000 as well. The thicker crank arm means there's a tight clearance between the inner face of the drive side crank arm and the outer face of the front derailleur cage.(R8000 FD).So stick rigidly to the Shimano FD installation (pdf) to set it up correctly without rub or strike.Fantastic, reliable, quick delivery from Sigma as always.
I purchased this crankset to replace a 2 year old Ultegra crank which had failed. At the time, after talking to many people, it was determined that this was a fluke. I have since had this crank fail after 18 months. I will no longer use Shimano hollowtech products. I replaced the second set with and Easton crank.
4 years new Shimano ultegra crankset design malfunction. The front piece separated from the rear piece without breaking but cannot be repaired. Ridden and maintained. A world wide problem. Shimano say it isn't a design issue. Spend another $500 for the part? How long will it last?
Wanted to try a longer crankset and have it match the remaining ultegra components. Got a great deal here on a barely used set. Absolutely recommend. If youre running Shimano unbranded and want to upgrade, skip the 105 and go right to Ultegra. DuraAce is nice, but its really for the pros shaving grams and costs a lot more. 6ft and I prefer the 175 mm over the 172.5

The new Shimano Ultegra R8000 line is finally here. It may be the next step down from the Dura-Ace line, but rest assured its technology is nothing short of unparalleled performance, designed to optimize input and maximize output. The R8000 11-speed 53x39T crankset is lighter than its predecessor, with a flatter profile for optimum stiffness and power transfer. A tapered crank arm and 4-bolt spider pattern seamlessly fuse together for a more streamlined, aerodynamic look. With the Ultegra R8000, no watt will be wasted.
