Awesome bag!

Highly recommend the bag. Before buying I was hesitant given the price. That being said I've gone through several bags trying find the best carry option for photography, travel and hiking. The main things I have been looking for was a bag that had top and rear access, hold water bladder, big enough (but not too big) to hold photo AND non-photography things, and well stylish (didn't want it screaming I have camera gear or look like a giant turtle shell on my back). This shimoda pack checked off all those so I bit the bullet and got it and I can say I have no regrets. The bag is well made and appears durable - plus the company has been around and have a good track record. The bag, although heavier than the hiking daypack I was using before, actually carries really well and I don't feel the weight even under load. The internal frame and wide chest sections of the shoulder strap spreads the weight out making it a surprisingly comfortable carry. I realized there is no perfect photography backpack. But after going through several bags already, this one has definitely been the best and hits all the boxes of things I was looking for. If you're looking for a solid camera, travel and outdoor backpack at an streamline size give this pack a go!

I literally have a dozen camera packs for different types of shoots but none of them was a good fit for my Canon R5 and accessories. I purchased the Shimoda V2 25 backpack and as soon as I unboxed it I knew it was a perfect fit. Not only is it a great fit, I've had many compliments on how nice the backpack looks! I have my Canon DSLR in a Shimoda 30 backpack and I'm very happy withe the workmanship and storage capabilities of the packs. . .worth every penny!

I recently started the search again and the Wandrd Prvke came up quite a bit. I ended up giving the 21L a shot and have to say I really hated a lot about that bag. I was really after a more urban, smaller size backpack that I could use as an everyday carry and then take on some trips as well. After more research and looking at other pics, I fell in love with the design and it is great in person. I ended up buying the Wandrd Prvke premium straps in orange and figured I'd keep them, and they work super well on the bag to make it a bit more urban.Overall the bag has everything I could ask for. Fits all my gear perfectly, I set up the cube so the side access works flawless even with my A7IV 35mm GM and RRS L Bracket attached. The bag is extremely comfortable with the stock straps, but I opted to buy the Simple Straps so the huge phone pockets etc didn't get in the way, and I could use a PD Capture Clip. I highly recommend the bag and it has so many well thought out features that I am very impressed with.

Great All Around Bag
5 January 2023

This bag feels great and I can load all my gear and more. I have loaded my Z6 w/ L-bracket and my 24-120 f4. I carry a med kit and can take my light puff winter jacket in a stuff sack, rain pants in a sack and my rain jacket and I still have room. Good size since I travel to Asian once in awhile.

Great backpack for European travel
15 May 2024

Main takeaways: 1. This bag definitely accommodates a 14 MacBook Pro in the front pocket (not the back), and 2, While this bag is slightly longer than most airlines' allowed dimensions for an under-seat 'personal item' I was able to fit it under the seat in front of me on all six international flight legs I just completed on a recent trip. I flew on Virgin Atlantic, easyJet, Eurowings, Ryanair, and TAP Air Portugal. See photos. While it was a snug fit, I was able to travel with my Sony a7rII, with three lenses (Tamron 2.8/28-75, Samyang 35 f2.8, and Sony FE 28mm F2 + 21mm Ultra Wide Converter) along with laptop, cables, and accessories. The shoulder straps are amazing and made the backpack very comfortable for extended journeys through European cities.Lenses up ... MoreMain takeaways: 1. For shorter trips I've also stowed my Sony 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 GM lens in the top compartment of the bag, but I wouldn't recommend this for air travel since it is not fully protected.Highly recommend this pack for photography excursions involving air travel.

Not as good as Compagnon Elements
19 November 2021

I have both the backpacks. I would say that Compagnon has a better looking and better constructed backpack. Additionally, it is manufactured using more environmentally friendly techniques.I have taken each of the backpacks on 10 mile hikes and find that Compagnon has a better weight distribution, especially when used with the waist belt.

Perfect bag for my needs
4 July 2023

Already have Action x30 backpack and used it for hiking in Glacier NP,But preparing for South Africa wildlife tour and needed a smaller bag to meet the carry on requirements of smaller airplanes. the Explore V2 25 was perfect for a dress rehearsal in South Dakota's Custer St park photographing Bison on the plains. Able to pack Nikon mirrorless with two lenses, 28-75 2.8 and large Tamron 100-400 4.5-6.3 with all the necessary accessories, including a small tripod and used as a carry-on on the flight. It was packed but perfect for my needs. Love it but price was steep. Great bag for me, but everyone has different needs.

Perfect organization, protection, and comfort
17 May 2022

I bought this bag for fieldwork I'm doing in eastern Europe and have not been disappointed. I use a Nikkon Z7ii, a Nikkor 24 S prime, a Nikkor 24-120 S, and a Nikkor 120-400 S. The body with a lens attached and the other stowed, together with cards charger and mounting foot for the super telephoto, all fit in the cube in a way that allows me to grab the camera from the side access (although it can take a little wiggling in and out). To be clear--the long lens does not at all fit in the cube, but there is space above the cube where I put it within a neoprene sleeve and it works wonderfully. This reduces pocket size on the top, but it's well worth it. The whole assembly still fits under an airplane seat (it sticks out a little, but I've not had flight attendants ... MoreI bought this bag for fieldwork I'm doing in eastern Europe and have not been disappointed. This reduces pocket size on the top, but it's well worth it. The whole assembly still fits under an airplane seat (it sticks out a little, but I've not had flight attendants complain), so I can still bring a carry-on and count this as my 'personal item' which is exactly what I'd wanted. In the field, the pack is comfortable and the rigid frame is a real help. I've used the various pockets and I'm really pleased with them. I bring out the left (as you wear the pack) stowable pocket to hold my tripod, use my left shoulder strap pouch for phone or passport, the right strap pouch for a collapsible water bottle. (I don't really imagine using the right stowable pocket since I need access to the camera cube through it, but it's not hurting anything that it's there just in case.) The vertical pockets work well for documentation, field notebook and pen, and money pouch. The top pockets have enough space for an accessory pouch, cords and charger bricks for the MacBook and iPad Air that I put (together) in the vertical pocket in the cube flap. It's incredible what I fit in here and still manage to use as a personal item and carry around on-site. Highly recommend!

Pretty much the perfect bag
27 January 2022

This bag is pretty much perfect. I got in on the kickstarter campaign, picked the v2 35 to replace my main camera bag, and then decided to get this bag as a small bag that I could put in my kayak to carry a small kit. Flash forward, and I can carry pretty much everything I need for most scenarios. I usually carry R5 with 24-205 attached, rf 70-200 f4, ef 50 f 1.8 and rf to ef adapter, power bank extra batteries, and assorted filters, which all fit in the back access and shoulder strap pockets, leaving the top and front pockets open for any non-camera gear I want to carry.
