I've been looking at backpacks for 6 months and never seem to find the best one for my needs but this one is it!

Was cross shopping against Peak Design, Nomatic, and Wandrd bags of similar size. This checked more boxes, was as functional/if not more than others. Is it expensive?! Yes. But it's highly functional, comfortable, and subtle/minimalistic enough (it does not scream, i'm a camera bag!, very important when traveling). Some of the other bags look bulkier and their shapes are not as pleasant. Plus, it fits on an airplane under the seat (25L).

On the heavy and bulky side for travel, but it does offer sturdy protection for gear. This material is polyester, so keep in mind it may be more irritating to skin even through lighter fabric like t shirts. I won’t use this in warmer weather.

I have over six camera bags. My recent addition was the Shimoda Urban Explorer, 25L, in Boa. I used it for the first time today walking the Zinzinnati (Cincinnati) OctoberFest. I put my Nikon Z9, 135mm Plena, and my 50mm 1.2 in it comfortably. While I could not have got another lens in the pockets, I did have room enough for the spare battery, lens cloth, and a few small items. The top open space could have held more. It worked extremely well.I watched many videos on YouTube prior to purchasing it. I listened to people say it won't stand up on its own, and one said it did not have a waist band. The word Urban says it all. It is for the Urban environment. That is what I used it for. It worked as advertised. I did not need a waistband. The word Urban says it all. It is for the Urban environment. That is what I used it for. It worked as advertised. I did not need a waistband. I would if I was hiking at the Arches (Moab), but I wasn't, I was walking Octoberfest. It was extremely comfortable. And it felt great on my back. And felt great when I hooked my Z9 with the Plena on it to the Peak Design Clip. Again, as advertised. It was perfect.I'm 5'9 and 265 lbs. I adjusted the straps and made it extremely comfortable to wear. I mentioned my weight since heavier people are wider and the bag adjusted wonderfully. My bags are specific to their environment. I used my Shimoda Action X40 V2 (Yellow 40L) when I hiked Zion, Bryce, and Arches. I would not tell you to use the Urban Explorer for those hikes. I 100% recommend it for the Urban, hence the name, environment.
This is a nice looking backpack. Distributes the weigh evenly. If you look at pictures you’ll see I get 1-R6 with RF 70-200 f2.8 , 1-R6 with RF 24-70 f2.8 , 2-A10 flashes , 1-RF 15-35 lens , 1-A2 . The top pocket is roomy, that’s where a have the 24-70 and there’s room too add other stuff in there. My cameras also have the spider holster clips on bottom so I have to wiggle it in the cube. I also have the camera on its side to fit better in the cube. No lens hoods on lenses. You can fit them in the top pocket if you use them. There’s other pockets to hold the extra batteries and gels & grids.
Able to easily fit Nikon Z8 and z-mount trinity on the long sides. Great adjustability on straps. Material appears durable.
