Solid game, solid characters. If you enjoy the anime then you'll love this game. Combat can sometimes be a tad frustrating, but it's about learning and sticking with it. Eventually you'll get it down. I recommend it to those looking for a game to pour hours into, as there is more than just combat. Dialogue, story, cities to explore. Plenty to do besides just titan combat.

This game is great for those who enjoy the anime and for those who enjoy cutting off parts of Titans and capturing them/slaying them (reminds me of Monster Hunter in regards to slaying/capturing); the characters that I'm not familiar with (there were quite a few) are sometimes awkward but overall enjoy the interactions; story is good, pacing is nice, ending did kind of leave something to be desired (to a degree, I've always been a fan of stories where you could have an ending that is different compared to animes, but that's just me); I would still say this is an awesome game for those who enjoy the anime series itself; for those who are casual, it'll depend on your preferences in regards to gaming/style because this game can be very fast-paced and rough, especially ... MoreThis game is great for those who enjoy the anime and for those who enjoy cutting off parts of Titans and capturing them/slaying them (reminds me of Monster Hunter in regards to slaying/capturing); the characters that I'm not familiar with (there were quite a few) are sometimes awkward but overall enjoy the interactions; story is good, pacing is nice, ending did kind of leave something to be desired (to a degree, I've always been a fan of stories where you could have an ending that is different compared to animes, but that's just me); I would still say this is an awesome game for those who enjoy the anime series itself; for those who are casual, it'll depend on your preferences in regards to gaming/style because this game can be very fast-paced and rough, especially if you ramp up the difficulty. Gives it a great challenge and some immersion; the different equipment is nice too;

This game has plenty of positives and a few negatives. The negatives are mostly switch related. There is frequent pop in and slowdown when entering new areas or closing in on a titan with you maneuvering gear.For the positives, the game has an amazing amount of content and fits perfect as a switch game. This game covers seasons 2 through 3 and covers all of the content in the previous video game Attack on Titan 2. Great game. 8 out of 10.

I bought this with an unsure feeling if it was the same as the first game with just extra content. Although I loved part one for what it was I felt there was much room for improvement. The traversal was great but I felt camera could use some tweaks and mission layout could use some work too. The good news is most of my small complaints have been addressed. Added content is great as well, this will hold me out until final season of the show.
I'm not super familiar with the story of the anime or manga, but wanted to give this a try after watching the first couple of episodes on Netflix. I'm having a blast so far. Controls are very solid. Takes some getting used to, but it's very fun once you do. One of the most polished Koei Tecmo games I've played. I enjoy several of the Warriors games too. This is very different. But, in a good way.
I had the original copy and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Swinging around taking down titans which can also be done online with a buddy. I would pick up this game if you like the series. If you are a fan of RPG's then you might also like this game. There is a demo on the Nintendo eshop so you can check it out for yourself. However it seems as if they shipped the original version in the box. As this does not give eshop coins and the Final battle portion of the game is about a 4 gig download.
WOW, in a world of which it seems as if Red Dead Redemption has collided with Skyrim, this game actually delivers something I'd call special! Why the missions themselves get repetitive, the original story mixes fluently with the shows own. Your own fully customizable character becomes important and actually makes sense in the game's universe. I won't spoil anything but it becomes a very powerful and touching personal story, it's so well done in fact it might bring a few tears to your eyes. A must buy for those who love the show, the manga or action RPG's! A solid 8/10
While the base game of Attack on Titan 2 has been out for some time now, the company behind it generously took the time to craft additional content to tie into everything that happens during the third season of the show. While the content would make for a fine game in its own right due to what the 3rd season has to offer, it was packaged as DLC for the second game and here we are with a physical version of the 2nd game with the DLC all on one disc. Now for the DLC normally being $40, having it with the base game for $60 in total is honestly a great deal seeing as how the game without DLC still goes for about $30 in most places. If the lack of new content compared to the first game reviewers lamented about in the 2nd game bothered you, you'll find no shortage of it ... MoreWhile the base game of Attack on Titan 2 has been out for some time now, the company behind it generously took the time to craft additional content to tie into everything that happens during the third season of the show. This game is absolutely addictive with it's game play. It doesn't take very long to get used to the controls and it has an Easy Mode for Beginners an a more realistic mode for the veterans. Each level was so fun that I didn't want them to end! I enjoyed taking out 35 titans in a single mission and the cut scenes are absolutely amazing. I also liked that I could actually create my very own character with an amazing amount of customizable features from the very beginning. I'd give it a 5 star but to be fair to others who might not know about Attack On Titan or are casuals I lowered this rating because the game does not feature the dubbed voices, nor is there an option for it. That means it's all japanese voice overs. If you want to read the subtitles carefully click ... MoreThis game is absolutely addictive with it's game play. Great game, fun gameplay though it gets repetitive (not as repetitive as other Koei Tecmo games though). It does lag at points when there's a ton of titans on screen but not enough to take away from the game. my only gripe is that the expansion is 30 dollars (and the physical version of the game+expansion is about 120). It's sad because 99% of the time you're gonna have to buy this game for 60 dollars.
