i will probably never use any other lash curler ever again. the Shiseido lash curler is absolutely perfect. it has a wider and flatter curve to it that wraps around, reaching every lash. which is perfect for almond eyes, instead of the drastic curve that most lash curlers have that my eye barely fits into. it’s super high quality and you can tell it’s well made. although it is a bit pricey, i think it’s still worth it for sure. personally i would wait until black friday or for any sale that they have since i got mine for 17 instead of the usual 22.

I have used/tried many eyelash curlers over the years. While I was in makeup school and working at Sephora, I got to try a lot of different brands. I loved the Shiseido one by far the best! Its ergonomic design curls the lashes perfectly and they stay curled all day. I find the spring inside the handle also lasted a long time and didn’t break like some cheaper brands did. It is a higher price point than some other brands however I think it’s worth it for a best quality product that lasts. I would definitely recommend this lash curler! Helps curl super straight lashes and even helps lift short lashes too.

I had to add my review to say THIS IS THE ONE! I love that it is lightweight and operates smoothly. It has a medium curve, not as flat as the plastic travel types, but perfect for my almond shaped eyes. (You can see comparison photos of the various curves on a few review websites, I considered the more expensive Shu Uemura, but hated seeing reviews here stating some are counterfeits). This could be curved enough to pinch at the corners/ends of the clamp (nose side maybe) if you are not careful, but I have not had a problem. What I love is that is makes a perfect curve into my lashes without having to press hard at all. How nice to think that I will get the chance to use them ; ) I have been using the Japonesque travel type plastic eyelash curlers for many years now, (both colors) and I have to say while they are a great design for viewing and accurately curling lashes, they are engineered to break at the tiny points on the handle, in fact I have never even used the replacement pads - they're always broken after 6 mos. The last time it broke while curling in a most startling way and I felt lucky not to have been injured. So I began my search - I returned one other metal type to Amazon because it had an odd design feature with an extra curve at the edge against the lash line - this kept the device from getting close to the lid and put the bend farther out - making my lashes curl closer to the ends instead of the longest they could to appear to be and also made it very uncomfortable to use. This Shiseido is flat edged and super comfortable to use, and can be positioned right against my eyelid. I even tried it over dried mascara the day it arrived (which I don't like to do, but I was curious to try it out when it arrived) and it didn't pull. I doubt I will ever have to do that again though, because every day since then my lashes have stayed curled perfectly from the morning mascara application and have not needed re-curling. Did I mention how light and easy to use it is? I am so glad that I didn't have to keep testing out other types or spend more money. This is a perfect price point for something used so close to the eye.

I have very straight eyelashes, so unfortunately an eyelash curler is a must for my routine. Anyway, I have to say that I love the Shiseido! It hugs my lash line without pinching and fits my eye shape perfectly. It’s very gentle and doesn’t tug. This lash curler is absolutely perfect in every way. It is the perfect size and shape for my slightly upturned,almond shaped eyes. I have seen it work just as well on my moms smaller,more round eyes. The curl holds for hours with or without a mascara on top as well. The pad lasts forever and is the perfect amount of cushioned but firm. This is a very well-made piece that I have had for years now. I recommend this lash curler to anyone on the lookout for a quality eyelash curler. I got mine at Sephora for around 20-25$ and use it daily.

So I have a confession to make. My last many eyelash curlers have all been Shiseidos. They're pretty. Weighty. Feel good in the hand. But this time they were totally out of Shiseidos when I went to get one, so I ended up trying one that I forgot I had that Ulta had sent me in a gift. Here's the thing: I couldn't tell the difference. I feel so unsophisticated saying that. But seriously-- I'm obsessed with how my lashes look. Had extensions for years before going back to natural lashes. And I just cannot tell what the Shiseido did for me that the Ulta one doesn't. I suspect that if you use it correctly and pay attention to pad condition, there really isn't a huge difference between the two. YMMV!
