Hi all,My work involves a lot of climbing and at 58 you know there’s going to be a time when you need a little support in the knee area. I went and bought a shock doc for my right knee as I twisted it and found it hard to climb..side movement was bad.a lot of pain even laying in bed. Found it a bit weird at first to wear . Felt a bit like a robot but after a while you get use to it..a couple of things I would recommend and it’s only my opinion..firstly I’d buy the size down from what you measured..I measured an xl but brought the l thinking that the swelling would subside which it did and after 6 months it still fits perfectly..second is just watch out for the other knee. I have found now my other knee tends to hurt more as it may be doing more of the work..this is ... MoreHi all,My work involves a lot of climbing and at 58 you know there’s going to be a time when you need a little support in the knee area. For me I tried swapping it over but I think the shape has been moulded in to it to much..but I can honestly say if you have sore knees such as patella I would recommend you try it out. Oh and it’s not a paid promotion.I wish at the price..cheers

This was a good knee brace. It fits a bit small even though I measured a large I had to go back and get the extra large size. The only issue I have is that it didn’t even last a year before the stitching around the opening for the knee cap started to come apart.I bought this brace in April of 2023. I’m not a super athlete but I do workout and coach youth sports and have active children. The brace couldn’t handle the constant stress. I can’t take it back to Dicks sporting good since I took the first one back to get a different size. But the fit was nice and it did support my knee and stop me from causing more damage to my acl and other ligaments and cartilage. It has a gentle hyperextion stop and doesn’t slide down as much.

love the brace but...it is very supportive, easy to adjust and durable. the first day I wore it, it seemed very tight but the reviews said it would loosen over a few days, which it did. However, the first day it wore a blister on the outside of my thigh at the top of the metal support portion of the brace. There is also pressure on the inside of my knee where the hinge is. I got a plain pull on knee brace and put it on under the brace and it solved both issues.

I ordered this size according to the measurement chart and it was too tight around my calves. I exchanged my second pair for an XL but kept the one I used. Sooner or later, it will break in and the company has to make money or we won't have great products like this!I should have used this ages ago and would have probably saved me from the problem I have with my knee now. I wear it anytime I have to do anything physical and keeps my knee in place. Very well constructed and works great for me!
I use knee braces when I ski as a preventative measure to make sure I don’t stretch or tear any ligaments in my knees. I have inflicted 40+ years of damage from skiing mogles. I retired my old knee braces this year and was in search of new ones. After purchasing and trying 3 different braces with poor performance I finally found this brace from shock doctor. This brace is a sleeve that is facined in place with two Velcro straps to keep it in position and prevents if from sliding out of places during aggressive bumping. I bought a brace for each knee and love them!
I can play again! This 875 knee brace helped stabilize my knee so I can play racquetball again and even walk properly. Not exactly sure about sizing because it is tight fitting. I used the sizing chart. I went with that because if I bought a size larger, I may not get the proper support the manufacturer recommends. The materials are top quality and built like a tank! Very impressed and now I have several to use during the week.
If I'm awake, it's on my leg. Even though it starts tight and it is a snug fit, it still keeps sliding down, so as the day goes on I tighten it more and more, and then the back of the knee starts hurting. However, my knee hurts more with it off and I need the stability, so overall it's been really helpful! The fabric at the hole for the patella is ripping a little, but that's because I have to use that to keep hiking it up. I don't regret my purchase, just wish there was a way to keep it from sliding.Wearing it does seem to have helped my patella go back to where it belongs, it was out of place at a PT assessment in early June. Also, the worst of the pain and instability and noises from the knee have lessened.
This is the second time I have bought this brace. The first time, it was a size medium. Four years later of daily usage, combined with an additional 25 pounds, and I now have a large brace. The x-rays clearly show bone-on-bone in my knee; with this brace on, it allows me to continue to work as a floor nurse, 12-to-16 hour shifts, without worry that I'm going to go 'down' because of gross instability.
I had torn ACL replacement surgery. Injured skiing. Bought a pair of the 875 knee brace and started skiing again 11 months later after some rehab. I heeded the previous comments that this would be a tight fit, thus I purchased the next size up which is large. Fits just great. I wore the brace over the thermal pants. I'm 5'11". Ski socks just came up below the knee brace (perfect). My boots came up almost 2 inches below the brace (perfect). While skiing, the brace felt comfortable and allowed mobility needed to ski in steep terrain. I don't know if this will really protect my knee in another unfortunate event but there is a sense of peace and confidence knowing I have some protection (post traumatic experience). Best braces I’ve ever worn to date. I’ve had many brands of knee braces, these have worked the best. I read many reviews from people like me. On Amazon and Dicks, it seems sizing was the problem. Others had flaws to the brace it self. Flaws like people don’t know how to take care of the product. Yes there are lemons out there. The brace gave my knees the best support and didn’t hinder movement. I now have a sizing problem only because I lost a lot of weight. Now my legs have become thinner so my braces don’t fit as well. In the beginning when I did the measurements I was just made the XL size. They fit great!!! Just to make sure I was getting the right size I went to a Dicks store and tried on the Lg. It was tight. I still like these braces for the support I need. ... MoreBest braces I’ve ever worn to date. I’ve had many brands of knee braces, these have worked the best. I read many reviews from people like me.
