After pondering over what helmet to get, the guys at RideTo put me on to the newly released Shoei Glamster. It was a match made in heaven. The guys got the helmet to me in record delivery time and I couldn't be happier with my new helmet. The retro styling complimented by the technology of Shoei makes me comfortable knowing I have a lid that looks great but will also do it's job.The Glamster is the lightest of all 5 of my helmets, so my neck and back are no longer taking a beating during a long days ride. I can't wait for some visor types to be released to further make this helmet my own.

Ive been waiting for this helmet to come out for months. Finally a retro helmet with subtle creature comforts. I typically wear a size medium in Shoei and Bell. This fits like a champ, no surprises there. Its a really comfortable helmet, very lightweight with great visibility. Its extremely well built and has the typical Shoei quality. Im hoping they come out with a dark smoke or hi-def yellow visor option soon, then it will be 100% complete for me. It is definitely quieter than my Bell Bullitt and with the chin curtain, pretty much perfect. As always, Urban Rider is fantastic to do business with - at my front door in Virginia in two days.

Very lightweight helmet and looks really nice, the sheild I wish had more locking points, it's either open or closed and it does not stay open, the wind will shut it, venting is pretty bad, it gets hot, my biggest complaint is wind noise, where the cheek pad meets the back they left a tunnel that wind just goes it and whistles loudly and unbearable. I put some tape over it and used 2 chin skirts over the sides to help with the noise and it's helped a lot. I was using a shoei rf1200 before and the quietness of that is what made me buy this one, I thought all shoei products were made to similar standards and I was deff let down by their engineering on this model, I know it's retro but they could have done better with it.

Ok, I am a helmet snob. I only wear Shoei helmets when out on my bike so when I was looking for a new summet helmet with plenty of ventilation that was my go to brand. After a couple of weeks and several rides, including ones so warm I was wearing a mesh jacket, the verdict is in. I Iove, love, love this helmet!. It is really light, I mean REALLY light, comfortable and the ventilation is more than sufficient, even in 30/90 degree weather. I always ride with earplugs, so I cant say whether its noisier than other helmets, what I know is I dont have any issues with the noise level. Seriously, get over the name, and invest in this great, cool summer helmet. As always, Urban Rider shipped quickly, It arrived in the US 2 days after ordering. Very comfortable and lightweight helmet, the matte black looks fantastic. Only gripe is that with the visor up it makes a loud whistling noise, even at low speeds. Maybe all helmets do, this is my first new lid in 10 years so I couldn't say. My bike is loud enough so it doesn't particularly bother me me anyways.Having a pinlock system has been brilliant with preventing fog, even in stop and go London traffic.I haven't fitted it with a headset yet, but there is a handy split in the padding on the bottom which looks to be perfect for running the cables to the side mounted headset.Overall I'm quite happy it and if you can, I'd recommend going into the shop to try a few helmets on first. Fantastic service and they helped me pick the right helmet model and size.
Super lightweight, very cool looking lid. Visor feels a little flimsier than my RYD, in fact, apart from style, the RYD is the better helmet. This is mainly due to the noise. The glamster has a join in the neck roll right under each ear which carries a lot of noise into the helmet. I’ve reduced this with a little black masking tape but I think Shoei should perhaps release an updated liner? I own an RYD, Bell Bullit, Biltwell Gringo, and a Shuhberth E1. I’d say the RYD and E1 are similar for minimal noise levels with the gringo next, then the bullet and lastly the Glamster!Otherwise would be top of my list, supremely comfortable and capable helmet - please just fix the noisy gap in the liner!
Ordered a Shoei Glamster online after midnight on Wednesday and received it in South Manchester First thing Friday, great service from the Urban rider team and it was packed in a large substantial protective box. The helmet was pristine and is fantastic! The medium fits my 57 & 1/2 cm head perfectly and the style of the helmet is excellent complementing my Z900RS perfectly. The helmet does have some wind noise over the visor fasteners but I find it is not intrusive and as I am old school and do not use earplugs it is fine. The pin lock supplied was fine to fit and the visor is easy to remove and Re install. Overall very pleased after the first few rides many thanks urban rider.
I bought this helmet because I was really attracted to the design and was relatively satisfied with the safety features. Being a 2XL I was looking for a helmet that didn't make me look like Jack in the Box. But I wasn't willing to overlook safety and I figured that a Shoei helmet would be safe.Once I received the helmet I was impressed by the style and design. It is very simple but strikingly old school. It was astonishingly lightweight to the point where I grew concerned about safety. I know the shell and core have safety features built into the design but the padding was non-existent. I realize that the shell would probably withstand a pretty good impact without intrusion but, without sufficient padding, would I suffer a serious concussion or worse in the event ... MoreI bought this helmet because I was really attracted to the design and was relatively satisfied with the safety features. I realize that the shell would probably withstand a pretty good impact without intrusion but, without sufficient padding, would I suffer a serious concussion or worse in the event of a crash?Long story short....I wore the helmet on one short ride and boxed it up. I found an Arai Corsair X for $499 and couldn't be happier. Did I overreact in my assumptions and insecurity about the Glamster? Possibly. But, after all, we do have to feel secure in our protective gear.My helmet arrived very quickly to the US. Thank you Urban Rider. I have my eyes on some riding jeans and will be ordering more from you in the future!Happy Riding!
My favorite helmet. The low profile looks, sleek matte finish, and comfortable interior were exactly what I was hoping for in the Glamster model. I waited a year before pulling the trigger on buying this one and when I did, Urban Rider had it to me in the US in two days. Amazing! On the road the helmet is comfortable and moderately quiet. The visor only has two positions (open and close), and the visor lock can be a little awkward to get used to when the helmet is on.This is definitely a good cold weather helmet with the minimal vents and the close-able one at the forehead. If you are wiring it up for coms it gets a little tricky with the ear pieces as there aren’t any cutout but I managed them just fine.
The Shoei Glamster has been one of my personal favorite lid. The design is so simple yet the tag line Style for Miles cannot be any truer to its looks. It made the timeless bowling ball helmet design into something better with a little tweaking. Wind noise is bearable and I do not think earplugs is necessary. If you are looking for a high performance helmet though this may not be it for you.
