This is an updated review after quite a few more rides. My initial impressions still hold with a few exceptions. Now that summer is here in Arizona I can say the ventilation is inadequate. The visor is very aggravating in that there are no partial opening detents and the latching mechanism is just plain annoying and frequently binds to the point of needing two hands to manipulate it. 15 minutes of careful work with a file were needed to allow the latch to work smoothly. After more miles in varying conditions I can say that even with quality earplugs the wind noise is much more problematic than I first noticed.Overall I'm disappointed with this helmet compared to my AGV K6 and I'll be selling it at a substantial loss.

This is an awesome helmet! Definitely gets a lot of attention and others including myself noticed how light weight it is. There definitely is a lot of wind noise inside but when putting the chin sock on it reduces that. Also, riding a bike with a wind screen helps reduce the noise as well. Super comfortable good for big heads like me and love the fact that you can purchase different size cheek pads for a better fit. I’m definitely going to purchase this helmet again but in a different color. Side note: if you decide to purchase a tinted screen I’d recommend the one from shoei. It is a better fit than the aftermarket one

I own a Bell Moto-3 and a DMD 75 and was looking for a light full face helmet for winter.I ended buying a Glamster but it now sits on a shelf waiting to be sold. The quality and weight are good but the functionality not so much. Two things stop me from keeping this helmet, firstly the visor can only be up or down, anything in between and it will close above 25mph (if you're lucky).Secondly the pinlock insert is very reflective and slightly tinted which makes is unusable at night (any way to upgrade this?)I tried removing the insert but that makes the helmet fog up. That alone wouldn't a huge issue if I could keep the helmet slightly open but as mentioned above that's not possible, also I use the helmet in the rain.Is it a good helmet? Buying a Shoei helmet, for me guarantees two things, quality and fit. This Glamster didn’t disappoint. Quality through and through, fits perfectly (I have two other Shoei’s in different styles) and it’s built with a small shell so although an XL, it doesn’t look huge when worn. Styling is perfect, I bought this to wear on my two Norton Commando’s (1975 mk3 and 2024 961 SP). As usual for Shoei it comes complete with removable chin draught guard and a Pinlock anti fog lense. The only reason for 4 stars is that it’s a little noisy though this I suspect is a compromise for the reduced shell size, and I find the visor latch release a little fiddly to operate. But these are minor complaints. I’m very happy with my purchase, (also a shout out to Urban Rider for offering ... MoreBuying a Shoei helmet, for me guarantees two things, quality and fit. Shout-out to Izabela for the tremendous customer service to help me with the sizing of the Glamster.I've used the helmet for a couple weeks now and it's top quality. It's my first Shoei helmet and it's impressive. Straight out of the box the helmet is super comfortable. It's the first time I've worn a new helmet that didn't give me a hot spot somewhere along my forehead. The field of vision is really good and from what I'm used to, the helmet is also very light. Some people have issues with noise at speed but I've found the volume about the same as my Biltwell Gringo S or my Biltwell Bonanza with bubble shield. So far I think my only gripe, and it's a small one, is the ventilation could be a little better. I think on really hot days I might struggle. Recently purchased a Moto Guzzi V7 850 and needed a new helmet to compliment it. I settled on a Shoei Glamster which I saw advertised by Urban rider when they first came out and always thought they looked the part. I ordered a medium (which I am in an Arai) but It was far to small so exchanged for a large which fits perfectly. Exchange went smoothly. Very happy with the helmet. Reasonable wind and noise protection. You’ll need earplugs at speed though. Visor catch a bit fiddley but may need to loosen up a bit perhaps. Overall very happy. Great service from Urban Rider.
This is my first Shoei helmet and overall, it's a great piece of equipment. Positives: very comfortable, it comes with a chin curtain that works extremely well, decently quiet at speed, very light weight & it looks great. Negatives: speaker pockets are not really very functional, way too shallow IMO; the face shield, which comes with a pin lock, tends to still fog up quite a bit along the top edge (on really cold mornings condensation almost drips down); replacement shields (mirrored or smoked) are way too expensive. Overall, it's a solid helmet that is tied as my 2nd go to after my Arai Rapide (fantastically comfortable & great looking as well) and my Bell Eliminator (the Provision visor on this is unbeatable, it NEVER fogs and looks fantastic as well).
This is my first Shoei and it compares well with my AGV K6 in function and comfort. At 2.8 lbs with it's no-nonsense shape and minimal shell size it transcends the retro label. It's quality helmet that doesn't try and emulate MotoGP. What a concept, eh?Fit is good but I may purchase a slightly looser set of cheek pads. I wear ear plugs but the wind noise might be a little more than my AGV and Schuberth lids. Field of view is great and the visor works well and has good sealing. Ventilation is adequate but so far I've not worn it in 90+ degree weather.I chose the gloss grey and think that low key color is perfect for such an understated helmet.
I was in the market for a retro helmet. The glamster was something I tried on as an after thought because it looks closer to a typical commuter helmet and less like a retro. The lining and weight of the helmet was so comfortable that I was immediately convinced it was the best option. Shoei are far from the budget I had set myself but it is without a doubt a much more comfortable helmet to wear compared to the competition.Comfort 10\10Looks 6\10Options and extras 8\10Safety features 9\10
Impressively low profile for a full face helmet. Outstanding fit and finish, comfortable, and light weight! Seriously... this helmet is noticeably light! Excellent field of vision as well. Highly recommended.Comms Compatibility Warning: if you are considering installing a comms system this can be done, but its a tight fit and can potentially sacrifice some of the comfort around the ears. I swapped to the adhesive (non-clip) mount option and dropped the speakers a little lower toward the base of the straps, and that seemed to resolve the issue for me.
