Fantastic lid, and most comfortable I've tried, hands down. I have a weird chin, and with other lids have too much contact with the chin bar. Sometimes can't even fit my chin completely inside and it's distracting. Tried every brand and model of premium helmet out there, including the long oval to open up the chin area--the X-15 is the only lid with enough chin room.Riding a long time, had mostly flagship Arais, 2 Shoeis, and 2 AGVs. X-15 is super comfortable and premium.Features:- Center pads are comfortable don't slide around. Lots of holes in the cheek pads for airflow, and have adjustments that are said to increase vertical viewing in race mode. TBH, I don't notice much of a difference but verticals are good anyway.- Multiple air ports in chin- Best airflow of any helmet I've tried, excellent aerodynamics at fast paces, and compared to my AGV K6, superior peripheral view in the eye port.- Super cool feature in the chin bar where you can click-in your any-brand hydration tube.- Double locking shield with an optional sliding lock. Crashed in my old Shoei, and the shield popped off the second my back hit the asphalt. Dangerous. I think this X-15 feature might keep the shield in place--extremely important safety detail.- Nice and quiet, very premium- Apparently the pads are interchangeable with cheaper X-14 pads, although the X-14 pads aren't as vented. The cons:1) Shield doesn't stay in place if you're traveling over around-the-town speeds. I like to shields cracked-open slightly on the highway when not riding canyons. Annoying.2) Biggest gripe is the weight. Heavy lid. My carbon lids were considerably lighter.3) Unlike my other matte lids, the C-15 seems to have a spongier coating that's a grease magnet. Touch the lid, and it leaves a smear. I'd probably recommend non-matte for the Shoeis.4) Shoei's irridium colors are meh. Usually go with dark smoke shields, but let the sales rep talk me into ordering a gold iridium. Unlike the gold shield on my Arai Corsair-X, it's on the gaudy side--too bling. The Arai iridium shields are prettier, more translucent looking, and more subtle. Should have stuck with smoke on the X-15.Verdict- No regrets. As I said, it's no lightweight, but as a protective and comfortable lid, and the only helmet with space in the chinbar, I'd give it 5 stars. Subtracted one star due to aforementioned little gripes. Can't go wrong with this model.

Absolute favorite helmet. I was between the Alpinestars Supertech R10 and the x-15 an ultimately went with this one. The fit of the helmet is just better, more true to an intermediate oval. It doesn't feel too heavy at all despite being a little bit heavier than some competitors. Airflow is fantastic for not being an exclusively track helmet. This is the quietest helmet I ever experienced and paired with the cardo and it's amazing.

Exceptional. Fitment, weight, aero, noise and field of view are all best in class. I bought a black one, and liked it so much I bought the Escalate version. The reviewer that said it could be quieter is a nut. I have Arais, Schuberths, and others, and this one is about as quiet as you're going to find? which is surprising given all the ports for venting. Helmet looks great, and the performance on road is 10/10. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love mine. Best helmet on the market. Catch eyes and kisses all the time. Very light. Great vision. Looks clean and fast. Beyond comfortable. What else do you need? Buy it.
Very comfortable and flows air like you're in a wind tunnel and it doesn't feel like it's going to pull your head off at higher speeds...it cuts through the wind nicely. It's pretty light and also fits my "long oval" head?which I didn't expect. I didn't have to do it, but you can customize the foam in multiple locations in the helmet by removing some layers. It's not that quiet because of how much air passes through it but it's not that loud either.
This helmet is outstanding. The aerodynamics are great, very stable at high speeds and doesn't lift in bad air. Vision is greatly improved coming from my RF1400, even though they share the same visor (I switched my transition shield form the RF to the X15). Its very comfortable and the amount of air this helmet flows is amazing. 90°F day and my head stayed nice and cool.
I ride 5 days a week commuting, 20 miles a day. I have owned this helmet over a month now. It is 90% comfortable, small pressure on the forehead, I will add the extra padding to cheeks at some point. This is my 6th helmet, 4th brand, in 14 years of riding. My only true complaint, is price. It does not feel like it should cost double my last helmet. No ear pro needed at normal speeds.I close visor over 15mph due to annoying wind noise.Works great with Cardo packtalk black.Airflow seems great commuting at 110F if you are moving. No surprises, this helmet is what it says it is.
The Shoei X-15 is a perfect helmet. It combines street comfort and noise isolation with track aerodynamics and looks, and extremely wide vision. To top it all off, it has practically every important homologation you could name.It might be pricey, but it's more than worth it for anyone wanting an aggressively styled helmet with street and track functionality.
I have 3 street helmets: Shoei RF1400, Aria Corsair-X, and now a Shoei X-15. I've had it for 6 months and old used it 3 times, because it has the best ventilation of any full face helmet on the market. It is the only helmet I can wear when it is over 110 degrees outside. The fit and finish are first class, better than the Aria (especially the finish part). Now for the downside. This is the noisiest helmet I have ever worn. The wind noise is deafening. Even with ear plugs. I called Shoei, and the small a** that answered my call, said: "you bought a race helmet, what did you expect. It was not designed to be quiet". Now my Aria Corsair-X is perfectly acceptable, noise wise. I just got a basic finish that does not hold up to the elements like the Shoei's do. Now my Aria Corsair-X is perfectly acceptable, noise wise. I just got a basic finish that does not hold up to the elements like the Shoei's do. Aero on the Aria is slightly better (I have the accessory wing), but the padding is less comfortable and the visibility is slightly more restrictive, mostly due to the useless visor vents that Aria refuses to get rid of, that have never done anything for me before. How can the RF1400 be so quiet, although it is less aero at high speeds. If I had it to do all over again, I would buy 1 size smaller RF1400 and replace the internal pads with just a thinner option. I buy all my helmets from Cycle Gear. They are the best. Sometimes you make good choices, sometimes not.
i purchased the x-15 as a second helmet due to obscured overhead vision in my rf-1400 when on a sport bike. i feel that the x-15 may have slightly better ventilation and less buffeting than the rf-1400. quietness and comfort are too close to call between the two. i also purchased a photo chromatic visor for the x-15 (i wear prescription photo grey glasses, which darken very little behind clear shield). i was so impressed with the photo chromatic visor that i purchased one for my rf-1400 also. due to the greater overhead vision, the x-15 may be a better choice for use on a sport bike.
