I also use music when I am stimming (every human stims, autistic people just put their own flair to it) and these bad boys have survived some funky head banging!Hyperacusis- these have a very nice sound, I can hear things with these that I cant with other headphones, different notes and instruments. An added bonus is sometimes I wear these without music playing because they block sharp sounds from directly hitting my ears. I am also able to have better phone conversations with less irritability because the voices aren't harsh and the audio is clearPTSD- You got the tissues, 'cuz I got the issues! Minimizing humor aside, situational awareness is very important to me, if I feel like I can't hear I feel unsafe. The situational awareness of these makes it seem like you're in the car with the radio playing. It is also great because I have three kids and can only listen to the nature cat theme song so many times before my brain starts flipping breakers, so to speak.I have terrible ADHD (autism is a spectrum disorder because when you're autistic, you don't just have autism!) so I apologize for any incomplete thoughts.

You just have to understand how the sound is designed to flow from the earbud to your ear canal. After that, you know exactly how to fit them to your ear. I can’t shake these out of my ears without hurting my neck, so that is good.Sound Quality: Remember, this earbud set is open-ear and will not sound like noise-cancelling, in-ear earbuds - that is not the purpose of this product. If your purpose is high fidelity sound, then purchase headphones made for that purpose.Having said that, the sound of the OpenFit has great treble, decent midtones, and a surprising amount of bass. You can easily tweak these settings in the Shokz app to your preference and save it as a custom EQ setting. I found a sweet spot for my hearing within a minute of customizing the EQ.Phone Calls: The phone calls have been very clear so far on both ends of the conversation. Unlike with my AfterShokz, when I mute my Teams meetings, there is not the annoying beeps from the OpenFit headphones letting me know a hardware mute is in effect. It’s the Microsoft programmers’ fault for that, but I digress.Sound Level: I read on some reviews that the sound was not loud enough. The pair I have get so loud that I have only raised the volume to 80% because it became too uncomfortable. The sound projection is not quite as private as with the AfterShokz, but the sound quality is better. But it will not disturb your cubicle mates unless you have it turned up really loud. At 40% it will not bother them (unless you ticked them off, and then they will have it out for you anyway).Comfort: It is easy for me to forget I have these on, even after eight hours.Multipoint Pairing: It works smoothly as advertised – more smoothly than my AfterShokz.Battery Life: The site states 7 hours per charge, and that is pretty accurate. I use them all day for music, Teams meetings, and phone calls. One side will give out after 7.5 hours, and the other side will last about 45 minutes longer. So, no surprises there. They are very fast charging – I don’t know exactly how fast, but both earbuds were fully charged from 10% to 100% in less than two hours. I forgot to check them sooner than the two-hour mark, so I don’t exactly how fast they charged.Comparison with my Aeropex Aftershokz (Shokz OpenRun):Fit: The AfterShokz dig into the back of your ears when leaning your head back against a seat (airline flights, road trips, high back chair, etc.). OpenFit doesn’t have that issue – they are simply comfortable.Sound Quality: 1) The AfterShokz sound is more private, but OpenFit sound better at lower levels, which makes them almost as private. 2) AfterShokz has little bass response, but OpenFit have a surprising and pleasing amount of bass. 3) When the ambient noise levels are higher, raising the volume on the Openfit earbuds is successful more often than with the AfterShokz – and you don’t risk the bone conduction buzz, either.Comfort: Openfit does not “buzz” your bones and skin at higher levels like AfterShokz do.Battery Life: AfterShokz have a longer battery life, but I don’t care.Comparison Conclusion: I prefer the Shokz OpenFit earbuds for my office and home environments. For me it was a good choice

It's very much of a higher quality than you can get from any bone conduction headset, even the Shokz OpenRun Pro, arguably. The bass response simply made my music and audio feel more full and substantive. During my time using OpenFit, I very much enjoyed that aspect.Though it's not without its downsides. While I can appreciate the new earhook design Shokz is trying for a true-wireless set of audio tech, in my experience it wasn't the best. The left earpiece fit perfectly fine on my ear with no issues whatsoever, however the right earpiece always felt slightly more loose and less secure than the left one did, no matter how much I adjusted it. I don't believe I had been listening to music/audio at volumes that could cause this to happen, nor am I blaming Shokz for this product failure. It's entirely possible that there was some user error here, and I'm willing to believe that this is the case, but it is still rather disappointing.Overall, I don't dislike the product idea. Shokz clearly wants to expand into this "openback" wireless earbud market, and I'm all for it. However I have seen a recent video on a Kickstarter product by Oladance, which appears to take this open driver earpiece design, and connect them together via a wireframe headband much like what Shokz uses for all its other products. If Shokz were to release a product like this of their own, I would be much more interested in trying it.
