These knives are EVERYTHING. 10/10 will buy again. Real damascus steel and an extra slot for another large knife. Very pleased with my purchase. I say, if you are on the fence and reading these to help make a decision, buy the knives. Shun is the top of the line and, and as a chef who cuts alot of stuff, they are perfect knives. THEY ARE WICKED SHARP!!! As in cut the tip of your finger off sharp so be careful!! Or wear a chain mail glove ( no shame in that safety game) because if you do not you absolutely will cut yourself on accident and it will go through your fingernail like it isnt even there.

I purchased theses as a wedding gift to my wife (and self) and I have enjoyed them more than I even thought. They make chopping veggies effortless and they stay sharp. Super comfortable in my hand and they look fantastic! Definitely recommend and have already convinced two of my friends to get them!

Extremely happy with this set! Been using less expensive knives for years thinking I wasn't missing anything with the higher end knives. Well...I was wrong. Should of purchased sooner.
Knives are worth every penny. Set is very nice. The block has a spare spot for another knife. I wish they would include the 6" chef. (I would gladly have paid 100 bucks more for the set)

I bought this knives set because it was cheaper than the 3-knives only set (this set was $295.96 marked down from $593.00 and the 3 knives set was $335.96$ marked down from $463.00). When I receives the set, the price tag on the box was 369.95, which suggests the deal was 20% off instead of 50% which is misleading.Also, be prepared to be bombarded with publicity (I received 2 emails a day from Sur La Table after my purchase on top of the paper publicity included in the package.
