Best Consumer HiFi Adapter but Has It's Drawbacks

The connection is more stable, aptxHD is now an available Bluetooth codec, better battery and more, although I feel that the BT1 design was more comfortable I prefer the BT2. The earphones are the best consumer level earphones in the HiFi category at this price point but there are many areas where a more consumer focused earphone like an AirpodPro or Sony WF1000XM3 would be better fit. The connection and setup on other devices is made much more easy and modern process on other Bluetooth earphones than going through the same process I would with a $20 pair of Bluetooth earphones as I would with the 215BT2. With the BT2 you can't charge the headphone while using the and the charger is the outdated Micro-USB not the almost universal USB-C. The connection on aptXHD ( the highest quality codec supported by the earphones ) is weak, step about 10 feet away from the connected device and sound cuts out even a door will cut the signal. There also aren't any features with the headphones, just the basic pause, skip, play, volume up/down, power on/off and a mic for calls, that means no app for the earphones, EQ, auto pairing, noise canceling ( although the earphones are noise isolating so it's not all bad ), or many other features you would find in more consumer focused earphones. With all that why buy the headphones? Well because the airpod's don't sound nearly as well. Shure is a high quality, big name in the audio world and the Shure SE215's are some of the best earphones especially at the price point, using these wirelessly was a dream of mine and I'm sure many others. So if you can put up with having the same features that $20 Bluetooth earphones had for the past 10 years with the promise of the best quality sound you can put to your ears at this price point they are for you, but if you just need something for the gym ( I would recommend the Anker soundsport wireless ) if you need quality get these.

Excellent audio but some Bluetooth connectivity issues

I paired the headphone with my desktop computer & had no issues when sitting at my desk. The headphones can be connected to multiple sources at the same time and laying in bed only about 7-8ft/2.5m away and using the headphones to listen to audio from my phone, the headphones would frequently disconnect from the computer causing about a 2 second pause with a tone to indicate disconnection and then a pause and "connected" when reconnecting. This happened frequently and got VERY annoying since I usually leave my computer on and it has a Bluetooth mouse so I can't just turn off Bluetooth on the computer. The WiFi/Bluetooth antenna is on the back of the tower and behind a monitor, so there wasn't an unobstructed straight line for the signal to travel. I eventually decided to buy an antenna for $15 online that has a 6ft (2m) cable to connect to the back of the computer and placed the antenna on a high spot on my desk (the old one just screwed on the back of the tower without a cable). There's now an unobstructed line between the antenna & where I lay in bed and I no longer get connection issues with the computer interrupting. #sweepstakes

I switched from headphones to earphones to try something different in hopes on comfort and get rid of headphone hair mess and head ache/ear ache. Watched a lot of reviews and decided to give the SE215 a try. It was a great first try! comfortable and inexpensive. I felt like I could pin point my surrounding sounds a lot better. only issue I had is my right earbud stopped working. Tried everything to fix, but it simply gave out. Non the less, highly recommend for experience gamers wanting to try out earbuds.

Great entry-level in-ears.
28 August 2022

I am new to IEM's. Have always used monitors or ambient sound in the past. Band I joined plays silent stage so now we all use IEM's. I started with a set of KZ-ZS10pro's, which were o.k. As this was my first venture into IEM's I wanted to try different options without breaking the bank. So, here I am. The SE215 pro's I find more comfortable than the KZ's. To me they feel like they have a more full and rounded sound as well. Don't even notice them once they're in. Worth every penny. #sweepstakes

I never thought I'd get so much out of an In ears headphone! I'm a mixing and mastering engineer! due to the circumstances that the COVID has brought...new ways of being able to keep up with the pace of work have emerged. being limited to working in a studio, many have built their mixing and mastering rooms...and have to use headphones as the use of midrange or close range monitors is compromised by space or the amount of noise due to housing or flats. using headphones has been my salvation. i confess i never thought about how balanced the se 215 are. i had not allowed myself to rely on my ears, but i did not even think about it. it was not until i gave myself the opportunity to trust and choose to finish my work, to use and rely on the se 215. the result was ... MoreI never thought I'd get so much out of an In ears headphone! I wish these fit my ears
24 September 2022

I have both Beats Pro and Bose QC wireless ear buds that fit my ears beautifully for a good seal to produce great sound. Shure could take a look at how they make a standard 3 size ear insert. Bose is exceptional in the way they stay in your ears and make a great seal. Why do I have to spend another few hundred dollars plus a trip to an audiologist to get custom molds, send those out to a 3rd party, wait 3-4 weeks, to get a good seal so I can hear my bass over the other instruments in the group and get my mojo going. It's beyond me. I get these aren't the most expensive IEMs and honestly it's not worth the extra money on multiple drivers and still have to get custom molds. Sorry, couldn't recommend them

Motorcycle friendly, should come with more foam ear pieces.
29 March 2022

This is my third set of SE215 earbuds. The first two sets were damaged from my own mistakes: A car ran over the first set, and my young kitten mutilated the second ones. I use them exclusively on my motorcycle both to protect my remaining hearing (worked in a metal shop in my youth) and to listen to music on my many long rides. The fact that I keep buying them speaks for itself. The sound is better than any less expensive earbud, including the direct competitors to the SE215, which either could not pull nearly enough volume or could not fit as well under my full-face helmet. They are tough enough to withstand heavy use.I appreciate the smaller size rubber and foam ear buds, but feel that for the price there should be several more sets included, even if it was a ... MoreThis is my third set of SE215 earbuds. That said, I'm going to keep kittens away from this third set of SE215s, but if something happens to them I'm going to kick myself for not being careful and get another set.

Standing Ovation for Entertainment Interpreting
21 September 2022

I'm a entertainment/concert interpreter who just used the SE215 Pros for the first time. Wow!! What a HUGE difference they make! With the roar of the crowds, it's often difficult to hear the performers beginning their next song, even on an FM loop, (and we often do not have set lists, so it's a scramble to find the song) but Shure made everything sound crystal clear and blocked a significant amount of the stadium noise. It was a whole new level of interpreting!! Plus, they fit around my ears so wonderfully and do not fall out while I'm moving a mile a minute. Well worth the investment!!

When securely placed in your ears, they block out majority of external sounds - I've found that I'm preferring to have one securely placed with the other slightly loose so I can hear a bit of our sound mix coming from the main speakers and the audience. Working well for me.

I'd been using cheap ear buds as in-ears for years for acoustic and electric guitar work on my church's worship team. But as more layers were added and sound system settings changed, everything began to sound like mud. So it was time enter the world of in-ears. These filled the need and fit the budget, and I'm happy with them so far. The sound quality is much better, the other instruments are more distinct, and I've been able to turned the volume way down. The build quality also appears to be pretty good, and the cord is more than long enough. The noise cancelling foam also works well. In fact, the one drawback is I now need to remove them when talking to other folks on stage during practice - otherwise I can't hear them.
