This microphone is in great shape, as described, with the grille having flat surfaces instead of the round which would be normal. It doesnt affect the performance whatsoever! Looks a little different but a man on a fast horse wouldnt notice a thing! Works great!

Industry standard mic for bands, dj's, auctioneers, press conferences, churches, etc. THIS 40 year old tech is good but as tech gets better there are better frequency responses from other mics as the same price. But its built like a tank and still can compete as a workhorse for musicians. The bass is good and the gain could be better but it matches db's with other mics for your mixer. Seinheisers will run circles around this mic for gain, but the flat response is legendary.

Great mic. Industry standard for good reason. I bought this microphone to replace and older microphone from a different brand. When you stop and consider the selling price of these today to what they sold for back nearly 30 years ago, the price has just about stayed the same. So when adjusting for inflation, these great mics are as cheap as they have ever been. Get one for yourself.

As I have other 58s, I will be customizing these by removing the transformers and changing the electronics for my own purposes. this is a knockoff version of shure...either that or really poor construction. the mic capsule literally jiggles inside it causing all kinds of noise. the capsule has to be glued in place. will not buy any more of these
