A cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise. Rugged construction, a proven shock-mount system, and a steel mesh grille ensure that even with rough handling, the SM58 will perform consistently, outdoors or indoors.

The industry standard mic by which all others are judged.Considering how many are sold and how many years they’ve been on sale, I do think that the average retail price for the SM58 could be lower. If people are able to manufacture some very good copies and sell them for substantially less, then surely Shure could afford to drop their prices a bit? 🤔As I’m sure most people are aware, there’s an awful lot of very convincing fake SM58s on the market, so buying from a reputable dealer is really important if you want the genuine article.

Shure 58' are a classic microphone to use most anywhere. For me we do live shows and podcast (DanceCast @ RadioKing) with this mic. To get this deal is a real bargain! I own 4 of these right now and we use them for everything. You need to know the range and sweet spots (see enclosed chart) for the best vocals but once you understand mic placement these are real workhorses. For my money there these are the "real thing" in microphones, every thing else is a dice roll at best.Want mics that are durable, reliable, and proven to be the standard (real thing supported by sound guys everywhere) buy these and this package is a great combo!Enjoy your new microphones!

I purchased this kit as a Birthday gift for my boyfriend's surprise Birthday party because he specified that Shure mics are the best. The karaoke party was a huge hit. Everyone had a blast. The microphone is awesome! I would definitely recommend to friends and will be purchasing from Shure again. Very professional product and company. Everything about the mic and stand is high quality. Smooth transaction. Fast shipping. Packaged well. Thanks Shure! #sweepstakes

Sound great but micro has no power switch to turn off when not in use. I assume it has one like all those that I encountered. The worst thing when buying online is you don't get to exam the product before purchase. In this case I kept it and using the volume switch on the mixer; since sending it back is a little inconvenient. Shure should install a power/mute switch on the microphone. If this microphone has one I would rate it with 5 Stars.
I started singing when I was 5 years old, 1948, and listening to radio 4RO at 5am every morning, Country & Western Hour, in Rockhampton Central Queensland. I started my very own Rock and Roll Band "The Rhythm Suedes" when I was 15years old and I had the first Rock and Roll Band in Rockhampton. We used small Amps and a Microphone that was cheap and good enough to sing through. These days I am 80 years old and do solo singing on my Boss Cube St.2. After all these years I have never sang through a Shure Microphone until I purchased one from your shop. It's absolutely fantastic. It really picks up my voice very clear on my high and low voice range and with compliments from my fans, I love singing with this little beauty. Our band plays all types of music, in both indoor and outdoor venues, and the one thing we know will survive setup and take down is a Shure microphone. We use SM57's to mic our amps and one for vocals. We have SM58's for most of our vocal mics and our lead vocalist uses the SM86. Shure makes a fantastic mic. The SM58 has been around for about 70 years and has been a staple of live music for that long because it's so good at doing what it does. Sound quality is as good as you will find for the price range and durability is amazing. The SM58 is just bomb-proof. Bottom line - for the money, you simply will not find a better mic. Durability for anyone gigging is always a worry - but not with this mic.

Like Zeus weilding lightning bolts, he deftly precisely throws his microphone towards The Audience snatching it back to himself, only to twirl it amazingly two then three times to hurl it once again back at them. There has never been a harder working Mike in the business. And 50 years later it still has no equal. Aside from the Les Paul, or Strat, it remains one of the best things to ever solidify Rock and Roll as an art form or a religion.
I have heard the SM58 is one of the most commonly used mics across the music industry, whether it's a stage mic or for studio recording. Trying it now, I can see why. The mic has warm vocal quality and captures audio excellently. It has its own built in pop filter so much of the unwanted static and aural noise is reduced, which can be helped further by having your own isolation booth. However, without one, it is just fine on its own. It is very reliable and has withheld itself against my many sessions of recording myself, and even dropping it a few times by accident with no dents, scratches, or malfunctions with the recording itself. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking to add to their arsenal of mics or even as a first upgrade to your ... MoreI have heard the SM58 is one of the most commonly used mics across the music industry, whether it's a stage mic or for studio recording. So once again the Shure SM-58 is my mic of choice. Unlike many who buy this mic for entertainment venues, my application requires a constant use of the optional on/off reed switch and the ability to withstand outdoor use at the many Agricultural fairs that I provide sound for. No other handheld mic on the market ever lasted more then a few years, while all of my original "58's" purchased in 1979 are still rock solid, switch and audio performance after 43 years! You can't beat the price vs. performance of this product and so as my jobs increase I continue to buy Shure products.
Excellent live dynamic microphone. Theres a reason this mic has been a live standard for so long. A real workhorse. A great live sound that avoids picking up background noise along with it's outstanding durability sets this mic apart from many others. Amazing price and outstanding service from PMT. I'll even be using this for recording.
