I rented the Sigma 14-24mm recently and came away impressed. What stood out to me the most was the lack of distortion at the wide end. It was insignificant and didn't need correcting. The only distortion of any significance is at the long end, which has a pincushion effect that some may want to eliminate. Even that is minor, however.Sharpness is easy to find in lenses today, but well-controlled distortion is much less common, particularly in wide angle lenses. If you're looking for an UWA zoom that makes your pictures look like the world in front of you, consider the Sigma 14-24mm.

Weight is not a problem, auto focus is a little slow but manual mode on this lens is excellent. The large focusing ring is actually well designed and easy to work with and the lens cap (maybe it should be called a lens helmet- it’s huge) makes it very safe to keep it from ever falling over. This lens is just beautifully constructed; I liked it so much that I bought it! LensRentals has fantastic and friendly customer service. Thanks Vern!

I shoot with a Nikon D850 up to this point I have always used Nikon Prime Glass. I'm going on a trip and wanted a wider astro lens. I also didn't want to spend too much this time in case I switch to all Mirrorless. After reading all of the reviews I picked the Sigma 14-24m f2.8 Art lens. It is an amazing lens! SUPER SHARP!! My only complaint is that you have to get a special filter for it if you want to add any filters and it is not cheap! However, even after my filter this lens was worth it. I have included a edited photo, I did not touch the sharpness.

Used it for about a couple of weeks now. Amazing performance. Fast. Silent. Great clarity. No bowing. Excellent ray/starburst at higher apertures. Significantly cheaper than Nikon alternative. Only downside is that it is heavy. Comes with its own case for carrying if required.
This is my go to lens whenever I go explore places as it's perfect for landscapes. It's good enough for astrophotography as well. The 14mm focal length lets me keep the shutter open up to 20 seconds without visible star trails. This lens provides a wide enough angle of view to make it a good choice for real estate photography as well.Image quality and sharpness is great, however I would not recommend it for taking pictures of people since wide angle lenses have significant distortion. Works great with both cameras.I've owned this lens for 1.5 years and the amazing images I've been able to get from this lens are priceless. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase.
Canon Lenses have NOTHING on the latest Sigmas.With a wide-angle lens, I always check for nasty stuff like distortion, chromatic aberration, and vignetting. The Sigma 14-24mm/f2.8 suffers from none of these.The constant f2.8 aperture is a real plus - e.g., enables serious consideration of night sky photography.Can't beat the price either.If you're into wide-angle photography, I highly recommend the Sigma 14-24mm/f2.8
Due to my job as a concert photographer I was getting gigs in very small venues and sometimes my Nikkor 24-70 (my go-to lens ) wasn't wide angle enough to get the perfect wide shot that I was looking for. So, immediately I ordered the 14-24 2.8 ART Sigma lens (I already have a 70-200 2.8) knowing that SIGMA lenses are always up to the action. It's a no brainer and tbh right now I'm in love with my newest addition. Pristine, fabulous images that certainly will enhance my portfolio and will make quite happy to the artists on them.... Again, a no-brainer purchase.

The Sigma did of course allow me to get a great deal of area in each shot, including very large buildings and structures, and that was exactly what I was looking for. From Saint Paul's Cathedral in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sagrata Familia Basillica in Barcelona, the Roman Colosseum in Rome, and eventually the Dome of the Rock building on the Temple Mount is Jerusalem, the Sigma 14-24 was wide enough to capture these structures - with at times, some distortion due to my proximity to the subject. What the lens didn't do well in my hands, and by no surprise, was take photos of my family as unless they were extremely close to the lens. In that case though, they're too small in the photo to appreciate. Knowing this would likely be the case, I relied on my iphone 13 for nearly every photo of my wife and kids. At the end of my 23 day journey, I'm glad to have some photos that definitely, standout as something different than the average iphone photo, but I also found myself questioning if the carrying around of a lens this heavy was worth the trouble with the amount of walking we took on. If shooting landscapes, buildings or structures is what you're wanting, the lens does a great job. Just know, the lens is weighty and for 90% of my desired photos, a standard length lens and especially my iphone 13 was more than adequate.
My first Art series wide lens from Sigma ! Quality made . However I found it a little heavy! I am 71 years old and and have medical issues with my thumb joints so I rather prefer slightly lighter lenses . I have a dozen NIKON and SIGMA lenses including wide, zoom, zoom-telephoto and some prime and amongst my other 3-4 wide and prime wide lenses this is the heaviest for my hands and thumbs to handle carefully particularly when paired with equally heavy NikonD500 I use for my walks !
