The good is that the image is exceptionally sharp, the lens is compact, and light. This is the sharpest lens I own out of some very high quality lenses. The bokeh is very creamy and easy to create. For the money this is recommended. It's a good lens to have in your bag if your a street photographer. The cons are that for hand held photography in low light you will have to set the shutter speed very slow. At least 1/30 second or less depending. That means steady hands. Still very useable, it's just not a night lens at f/2.8

Once again, Sigma has produced an inexpensive excellent lens for the Nex. Autofocus is accurate,consistent, quick and quiet. It is the equal of the 30mm Sigma produced in this line in resolution across the image with no obvious distorions or aberrations. Open aperture is as good as stop down other than for increased depth of field. The hood is a nice addition but I found it unneccesary except in the most challenging situations.Some might find it too sharp for some portrait situations. But that can be easily remedied in post processing if desired.It makes a nice addition to these Sigma lenses for the Nex - equivalent 28, 45, 90 - that should handle most situations and the 30 and 60 are excellent across the image from wide open on. Really nice lens. It's light and compact with really nice pictures quality. Super sharp and I'd say this is my favourite lens for my Sony a6000. I may get the 19mm version as well. Can't say much on the video side as I don't really do video but stills are fantastic. A must own lens for Sony crop sensor users.

I bought this lens as I have a small Sony a6000 which I use for holidays. Taking all the pro gear makes it a bit like a busman's holiday and annoys "senior management", so I travel light these days.This little lens is a stunner in performance for its size and weight, although I do have some concerns about its long term durability. Already, after only one holiday trip, some of the white text on it is starting to rub off and the plastic seems to be quite soft. Having said that, I'm not going to be treating it roughly, so it should be fine for travel use.As a portrait lens, it is superb, with a good bokeh, but at a 90mm equivalent on 35mm, it is also a nice short telephoto, when you want to get a bit closer in, or for some discreet street photography whilst traveling.
I bought this lens for use with car shows, As my main photography passion, I also have the 30mm F2.8 art lens, For the budget price that this lens is, The image quality is out standing in my opinion, Especially as I got the lens at its £119 price. For anyone who owns a APS-C Sony E mount camera and would like a good quality, light weight, Sharp fast prime on a budget, I personally don't think you find anything better on the market for the same price. I would highly recommend this 60mm and the 19mm/30mm versions too depending on the focal length that suits your purpose best.

The Sony mirrorless camera kit lens is great for traveling light, but if you want the most out of your 24 megapixel sensor you'll need to upgrade to better lenses. The Sigma 60mm is a very well rated e-mount lenses from Sigma delivering superb image quality in what is still a fairly compact form. Beware, though, there is no image stabilization built into this lens, which means being more conscious of your shutter speed/ISO/f-stop settings. Also, the Sigma e-mount lens all have a rattle when turned off, but that disappears when the lenses are in use.

Used on Sony a6000, mostly as a walk around for portraits, street photography, theatre photography. The focal length might be a bit tight for some to use as a walk around but I find the 60mm is just brilliant. It's tack-sharp at 2.8, the depth of field and bokeh are really pleasing, so portrait use is amazing. Also in terms of landscape and street, really makes you pick your subject. Much more interesting to use than the 30mm sigma (still excellent).It can be a bit slow to focus in spot focus mode, but used in full af mode, general use is great. Also, manual focus is really nice. It's not a sports lens though, so factor focus speed in if that is a concern.But it is so sharp and the colours really punchy, that it cannot be faulted really.
