The most expensive but having tried others (half the price) the look is much more natural and doesn’t seem to form flaky layers like the others did over time. The others left a kind of shimmer on the timber. 1 coat HLSe + 2 coats of sikkens deck.

This stain we have used for the last 8 years. We find it lasts longer protecting the wood, than other brands used on outdoor areas. The initial extra cost makes it well worthwhile. It's a 3 coat system, do put on the 3 coats and not walking on it for 3 days after each coating does makes it take awhile to finish. The silver grey at first looks dark grey and then weathers back to give a weathered grey look that is currently in trend and suits sea side properties.

One coat of this product followed by two coats of Cetol Filter 7 Pine Timber Stain turned my plain fence into a beautiful, warm feature fence. Excellent product, easy to apply.Got plenty of positive feedback from my neighbours.

I have always used this on my cedar windows and doors. It enhances the timber grain and gives a beautiful deep, rich finish to the timber. Very easy to apply and very forgiving if you aren’t the best painter. 2 coats of this followed by Cetol 7 Plus gives a beautiful finish.
Just finished applying to sanded merbau steps. On merbau which is a dark timber it came out darker than expected. Still ok though after 2 coats of 078. Now have to do the deck and thinking of blending 077 with Cetol natural.
Ver happy w/ this product - again.I have used this now on several external timber items in various conditions from raw (new) to mildy weathered to very unloved - timber furniture, timber vertical panels and decks. With the recommended preparation it literally can transform back to new or a different look. In some cases depends on the number of coats applied. It is a little higher in price than the other brands but last for several years my only issue the 5lt can is hard to find and needed to travel to several stores to finish my projects.
Whilst Sikkens is not the cheapest finish on the market it is one of the best for; ease of use, warmth and depth of lustre, excellent coverage. The colour in the tin is very creamy looking however it lays on with a good clear finish with a hint of whatever wood tone you have chosen.
I bought this a month ago as it was applied to my deck 2 years ago. Easy to apply and protects your timber from harsh weather. Will buy again when deck needs to be done again in 2 years.
The mahogany finish was much too dark and more black than normal mahogany furniture. I've had to change my selection and am using Teak finish that even on redwood comes out darker than expected but acceptable. The product itself is very good although I think needs to be final coated with Cetol supernatural. My previous job on this application used supernatural but of a different colour. Only pine appears to be available in supernatural now,
Sikkens is a good product. Easy to apply. 2 coats after primer covers. It is expensive which is why i think its sometimes hard to find. The 20L is a money saver.
