I bought the Silvan Pro hoping for a better than average sprayer. It did not disappoint. Definitely my go to pressure sprayer for home. It seems very well constructed and robust. Time will tell. The foaming nozzle worked well when used. A good capacity sprayer for a medium sized metro block. If you dont want to spend money on a good backpack sprayer this is a must. (Would consider the Silvan Prograde sprayer based on this unit)

I own sprayers from 4 different manufacturers. This is the most expensive by at least a factor of 2 and guess what? It's the best too. Pumps up quickly even with only a litre of liquid in it. Spray pattern is really even and the brass adjustable nozzle can be set for most jobs easily. The lance is a useful length and the trigger is comfortable. Hose connection at the tank is not at the bottom which means it doesn't siphon itself empty if you are a bit careless with how you pack it up after use like one of my other ones with a rotating knob trigger. Most importantly it's never given me a spray (pun intended) like some of the cheap ones have when they've blown apart.

I really didn't think there'd be much diffence in manual pump hand sprayers - afterall they all have the same mechanism. Anyway, after my $25 hand sprayer came to the end of its life, I got one of these & I cannot belive the difference between them. If I had of known I would have got one of these all those years ago. I am going to buy another one. One for weeds & one for black spot type infections on roses etc

I was attracted to this sprayer as it seems to have all the features you could want. 5 year warranty, viton seals, good build quality, a variety of nozzles included, availability of spare parts and reasonable reviews. After using it for the first time, I would say that it is generally a good spray, but it could be slightly better. After spraying water through it using the various nozzles, I settled on the Yellow one for use with herbicide. It produces a nice pattern with good volume and coverage. Getting the sprayer upto pressure requires not too much pumping and seems to hold the pressure well. Getting the sprayer upto pressure requires not too much pumping and seems to hold the pressure well. My only real disappointment is the lance/wand which has a poly tube and has more flex than I would like. The Silvan product catalogue says the lance is made from stainless steel. Obviously the manufacturer has changed the spec to a cheaper more flimsy material in order to save on cost. So thats disappointing. In real terms it probably doesn't make much difference to its functionality just the way if feels in the hand and during use when you notice the shaft flexing just by waving it about. Also if you have the lance clipped into its holder and try to pump up the sprayer, the lance and hose get slightly in the way. Not a deal breaker, just an annoyance. Overall I am reasonably happy with the unit, but that is only after one use. My last sprayer has lasted over 15 years on the original seals and now wont hold pressure ( so I have ordered a seal kit and will keep it as a backup). If I can get the same life out of the Silvan I will be happy. Time will tell.
I reviewed this product previously and gave it 4 stars. I have now been using it regularly for 3-4 months and reckon its now worthy of 5 stars. Still a couple minor shortcomings like the flimsy poly wand and the lack of printed graduations on the tank (there are moulded in markings but they are hard to make out with my older person eyes. I only make up enough herbicide for that days use and wash out afterwards so clear markings are a bonus. However fixed the problem with a permanent marker). The things that are still good about the sprayer are:-Quick to pump up to a usable pressure.-Decent volume of fluid delivery and an assortment of various spray patterns using the provided nozzles for different purposes.-5 year warrant and availability of spares.-Satisfying ... MoreI reviewed this product previously and gave it 4 stars. I have had no issues to date but I do make sure that I clean and rinse after each use and make sure the unit is de-pressurised before putting it away.
I have had this hand sprayer for around one year. For the price, it is a very poor design. The hose is extremely stiff and difficult to manipulate. The main seal has died and I can't pressurize the unit any more. I recently noticed that the price has gone up from when I purchased it. Not worth it.
I have the larger backpack sprayer by Silvan and bought this for smaller jobs. It’s woeful. The washer within the pressure chamber does not achieve an effective seal, leaving you pumping away for little to no result. This is despite the interior of the pressure chamber being lathered in what appears to be petroleum jelly and the unit being brand new. The design is poor, with too much room for the piston to flop about in use and petroleum jelly escaping the pressure chamber with each stroke.Really disappointing and will be returning for a refund.
After buying a cheaper sprayer under $10 recently, it just wouldn't work, and neither did it's replacement. So I looked at this Silvan ProGrade on the shelf and immediately noticed it's better quality and features, and was encouraged to see the 5 year warranty. I put it to the test today and was wrapped by it immediately. Yes it costs more than the $10 sprayer but if you think you will use a sprayer reasonably often, this is the one to get. I'm currently using it to spray Munn's fertiliser liquid on a newly seeded lawn, and it does the job in no time, and the various nozzle types are on standby depending on your needs. The quality of this sprayer is superior, I'm very happy investing in this.
Definitely not Pro-grade. Opened the box and was surprised at how flimsy the product parts felt. Gave it a go as materials have changed a lot since the last time I needed to buy a spray unit (different brand - used regularly and lasted for 20+ years).First use of my new spray unit went okay. Takes a little while for the pressure in the wand to build and do smooth / fast shut-off, but once it gets going it seemed okay.Second time I went to use the sprayer a couple of weeks later, the sprayer suddenly leaked out all the air via the seal. Seal seems too soft and continued to blow out. After several attempts, checks of the seal & it leaking in my car, I’m taking this product back and will look for something more reliable and at a quality more reflective of “pro-grade”.
The seal isn’t very good, it blows out under not much pressure.Gravity will eventually cause the hose to kink where it connects to the bottle, had to keep cutting a few centimetres of kinked tube off.Lugs that the handle lock into so you can unscrew the top eventually strip and fail, can’t screw lid off.
