Sire focus design heavily on playability. You get A LOT for your money. The good:The flame veneer looks the part, 4A and 5A are really markerting but this is better than more expensive guitars I have with a veneer and looks great, can't fault that. The weight is there, this isn't a light guitar, it's an LP and it's what you'd expect. It's got the right modern features, nice cutaway on the neck and a kind of reversed PRS scoop, as it's on the back and feels really nice and you don't see it. Which I appreciate, as in, it's functional. On the modern theme it's got locking tuners, they're not the best I've felt but far, far from the worst. Really solid and essentially Grover copies. The ebony fingerboard feels great and no issues with the finish. The bone nut fits well and no rough feeling, ebony and bone ... MoreYou get A LOT for your money. The bone nut fits well and no rough feeling, ebony and bone to me make the best combo. The 3-ways switch and pots feel really nice, I haven't checked to see if they're switchcraft and CTS, but they feel as good. So good they're the brands in my mind.Tailpiece is branded Tonepros, which is Gotoh's premium brand, the bridge is branded Gotoh. Gotoh make the bridges for Gibson and is a very common upgrade for Epihone users, you've got it from the get go here.Pickups, they sound awesome. Everything from Gary Moore to Slash, sounds great. I'd be surprised if your first thought was to replace these. The bad...One of my pickup rings was chipped, Andertons offered me a replacement guitar or some store credit, I took the credit and ordered some Epiphone ivory replacements. Some of the binding has the odd blemish, so I point this out as it's not 100% perfect, I can clean that with a razor blade though. The feel, sound and looks are awesome though. Really, really surprised. Any small issues I had I've been able to sort with little effort.
