This tripod looks the goods and performs well for its budget friendly price tag. Not super heavy, feels very stable and would suit entry level or second tripod for 2 camera shootsThe pan friction feels a little clunky and doesn’t tighten or slacken gradually but stays tight as you try to loosen then, suddenly, bam - your loose. And reverse. Could be that it’s new, time will tell.

Purchased this tripod 08/05/21 to use with my Sony a99ii and Sony RX10M4 cameras. The tripod is a great sturdy tripod and can handle the cameras without a problem. The problem is that when I want to use the tripod and pan left to right when shooting movies the fluid head would start to come loose on the tripod. The pan lock was set on tight and it still would not hold. Contacted Sirui and told them about this problem and never heard back from them on it. Contacted B&H Professional Video and talked to Barry. Told him what was going on with the tripod and head. Told me that I should return the tripod for full credit since it is less than 30 days old and purchase the SH25T Kit which has a BH-20 fluid pan head that drops down into the tripod and has two arms, the up and ... MorePurchased this tripod 08/05/21 to use with my Sony a99ii and Sony RX10M4 cameras. The SH25T set will run me another $150.00 with would be cheaper than purchasing the BH-20 head along which sells for around $320.00. I would be stuck with a Fluid flat head that I am never going to use. So I am going to go this route and will see what happens when I get this new tripod. I will have 30 days to try it out and if it does not work out will return it back to B&H photo for a full refund.

If you do action video, landscape pans, or just routine photo/video, this is worth a look. Sturdy, quick setup, full function fluid head with adjustable fluid drive control, bubble sight level, 2 in 1 leg tips for inside/outside performance, and a robust camera mounting plate adjustable and graduated with plenty of strength to hold heavy loads. I use it with a Canon FX400 camcorder with Senal MC5-MS mic which is not a lightweight rig with no issues. Buttery smooth pan and tilt every time! Recommend it for a dependable tripod capable of HD service. The included carry bag is well made and has a convenient carry strap for transport/storage.
Purchased because of the advertised 22 lb support weight -- I wanted something sturdy for my 16 mm Canon film camera but lighter than my perfectly functioning vintage Bogen. This tripod seems very solid, easy to operate . . . 3 caveats:1. You can easily break the quick-release/tripod connection by putting the quick-release in backward (got to look for the obscure black-on-black lens direction arrows and match them for both quick-release and tripod head). Put this in the wrong way and the quick-release can't be removed. There are no warnings about this in the case or the manual, which is really just a folding paper with images on it. Be careful. Renders the tripod nonfunctional.2. The pan function has little clicks and friction points that don't belong in a pan ... MorePurchased because of the advertised 22 lb support weight -- I wanted something sturdy for my 16 mm Canon film camera but lighter than my perfectly functioning vintage Bogen. Renders the tripod nonfunctional.2. The pan function has little clicks and friction points that don't belong in a pan head. If you loosen up all the settings you won't get them and they only show up with extended pans of maybe 140 degrees.3. The spreader doesn't lock -- a sales rep said it was designed to have play in it thought why you would want play in a spreader beats me.Otherwise a good value for the price.
I like these so much I have three of them. The first one broke but that was totally my fault for using it with a jib. Far too much weight for this thing. But other than my own misuse of them they've been great! Very sturdy, smooth movement, easy to configure, and lightweight. Great for smaller cameras but even used it with my heavier pro camera system and it holds up fine. Makes small projects much easier not having to lug around a heavy tripod anymore.
This is the most I've paid for a tripod. Don't have anything to compare it to in this price range or higher. But I will say, the pan and tilt are very smooth to operate. Light and sturdy compared to my Neewer brand tripod. Very pleased with this purchased and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice tripod in this price range.
Needed a tripod that would raise high enough for various size talent. I had a hard time finding anything close to 6' or higher. This filled that need. It is sturdy and will go as high as I need. It's also made of quality material and not cheap looking. It was a good price and works great in the studio. I have not used in field but will most likely keep in studio.
Before buying this when a sale made the decision a no-brainer, I had been cross-shopping this with other tripods. One of the downsides I saw to it was that going by the pictures it seemed like it had no way to mount the handle on the left side. I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't the case when mine arrived. As others have pointed out, the pan movement isn't entirely smooth. However, this becomes a non-issue the moment you put a camera on it. Even a DSLR is enough to smooth it out.The head has no adjustable counterbalance but it's really smooth. It will only tend to go back to the level position if you take it to the extremes. Make sure to level your camera accordingly if you don't want tilt creep. Leveling its base is a breeze, thanks to the bubble level. The quick release plate works like a charm, but pay attention to the lock. If it doesn't seem to loosen or tighten the plate, pull it out to the side and move it, it's spring loaded and designed to be tightened and loosened while poining downwards to not interfere with any mounted camera. The handle and pan locks also have this design, but the handle one is able to do full turns. If you find using the handle causes vibrations in your video, loosening it a bit solves the problem. Like the rest of the tripod, the handle itself is of good quality and ergonomically sound. The grip has a nice feel to it.The tripod itself is sturdy and easy to set up. The locks are firm and easy to use. The spreader is simple and works as intended. Even the finish on the legs is nice, it has a beautiful texture to it, somewhat similar to carbon fiber. The tripod comes with a carrying bag which is simple but high quality. No shoulder strap, just the main handles. Seems to have some degree of impermeability. With the tripod comes a small zip bag with the manual and two hex keys for adjusting the tripod.I have used a Benro AD71FK5 in the past, this one is similar but better in every way (and adds drag control to the pan movement). I doubt there's a better option for the same money, highly recommended.
its ok for the price, smooth pan but has kikback at the end of the move, not becose of the head, but the legs flex back when you finish your paning move. so your twisting the hole thing a bit when your panin and once you stop the legs flex back, this is a problem if your doing macro stuff but not much with a wide lens.
