Was expecting better to be honest. Felt like there wasn't enough of the flavour in the middle of the bake and as a result tasted a bit cakey. This meant that it was harder to consume as it required more chewing then other products of a similar characteristic. A nutrigrain bar has more juice content and is easier to comsume. If this product was like that, then it would be a seller.

Tasty and easy to digest carb source on the bike. Keeps me topped up on endurance rides when you want real food. Tastes like cake, so it makes for a lovely post meal snack/pudding.

Good product. Nice to have a soft bake instead of gels. Bake is a little dry, need some water when using on the bike. But it is easy to eat.

Hi! These cakes taste really good. They give the right amount of energy, with a good balance between sugar and carbohydrate. Plus, they won't make you feel sick or nauseous. Excellent.Simon Martin

I don’t know what SIS were trying to make with these but there’s nothing nice about eating these. For starters, as with most SIS products, there is a lot of packaging for something so small and out doesn’t look anything like the picture suggests. These also aren’t particularly tasty and also act as a sponge for any saliva or moisture you have in your mouth. If your mouth didn’t feel dry and parched before you eat this, it certainly will when you’ve finished. It’s like eating cardboard. I really couldn’t recommend these to anyone. I am a huge fan of SIS energy bars, but these are awful.

Better than the old GO energy bars
24 October 2020

I took a punt on these to see if they'd be a bit better than my usual SIS energy bars. The upshot is that they are, in that they are easier to eat on the move and taste a bit nicer (I tried the banana ones), with none of the slight burning sensation at the back of the throat that I have experienced with the bars. The texture is a bit strange - it reminds me a bit of a gluten free brownie I tried out of curiosity once - but not unpleasant.I'd still go for real food out of preference, but as long life, functional on-the-road fuel these are OK.

Good flavors, but sometimes can be a little bit dry.

Generally I like these bakes as food for when I'm on the bike, they are a different texture and flavor to most other energy bars and as I do a lot of long distance riding I like the variety. Sometimes though I do find them a little dry, and have to eat them with water.
