Definitely NOT slip resistant!!!

Definitely NOT slip-resistant or non- slip. I work in a factory and was sliding anytime there is the slightest amount of moisture on the floor. Would be easy to step with a little force and end up on the ground! The tread looks like you could climb a mountain but you definitely can’t prevent sliding in these! Also, my ankle was rubbed raw and my heels hurt on the first day wearing them! Definitely DO NOT recommend.

We bought these for my husband, who is a beer distributor and is constantly using hand trucks and pallet jacks. The steel toe is great, but the sole is already separated from the shoe after 6 months of wear, the cushioning in the insole is already worn down, and the toe box was tight enough that he stared developing bunions. If you have a more narrow foot and you're not constantly walking for your job, I'm sure these would be fine. But they are absolutely not a good value for hard labor 60 hours per week.

This shoe gets 5 stars for comfort but only 3 stars for durability. Hence 4 stars. My husband works 60 hours a week in a warehouse & walks constantly & fixes machines all day. The shoes are comfortable, but seem only last 9 months to a year. They wear out in the toes first most of the time since he's fixing some of the machines while on his knees with the toe portion facing the concrete floor. He is hard on his work shoes. He enjoys the shoes much better than the heavy clunky steel toe work boots that he wore for years even though they lasted longer. Of course most of them were also over $100 a pair. Bottom line is that he still recommends these work shoes overall.

Great Work Shoe
5 April 2024

After searching numerous stores for a work shoe, I bought these for husband. I wear Sketchers and love mine and thought why not. Well he loves them and we may buy another pair soon. As for JCPenney. they have always been my go to for me and my grandkids ...now I have added another family member. I love shopping online and in the store...I have never been disappointed.

Insoles seprate from tread way too easily
24 November 2023

Had bought a second pair of these as my first pair had the bottom tread completely separate from the upper sole. Only a few months in with only light duty use and the treads are starting to separate again. Use a stronger adhesive to make these last longer. I will not be buying a third pair as these will only last a few months.

Most comfortable steal toes I've bought
23 January 2023

Had to buy slick resistant steal toes for work.Compared to the very expensive shoes from the shoe truck that goes to my job these are amazing for half or a 3rd of the price. You'll never find any true nonstick but these are close and they are very comfortable til the insole finally stay flat.Only real issue is the issue with most work shoes....the shape of the toes. After working 50 to 120hrs a week for many many years I developed a bunion which made walking slightly painful. Eventually had to get surgery to correct it. Wish these work shoes were designed to accommodate the foot's shape and not change it's shape.Until I can afford the proper ones and have a job that don't require steel toes I'll still be buying these.

Poor quality
28 January 2024

The quality of these shoes are not good. They only lasted 2 months before the sole started to separate from the shoe. I used some gorilla glue to put them back together. Now the front of the sole is starting to separate. I am a local truck driver so these shoes have not been through some heavy duty work like a carpenter would put these through.

Some quality issues
24 September 2024

I drive buses at Walt Disney World, so I am either doing a lot of walking or standing, or driving. These shoes are VERY comfortable! Like others have said, after 9 months, the tread under the toes started to separate, but I found no significant failure. The tread still has some depth, meaning it has some anti-slip left. Also, the memory foam insole is still comfy after a year! Overall, they last a year and you will probably have to replace them at that time.

not even one star
25 November 2023

I brought these shoes for my son, who needed steel toe for work. He never used them outside, kept them in his work locker stood in front of a machine most of shift and they fell apart inside there is a plastic piece at the heel area of shoe that came away from inside material and just dug at his heel all shift which made it impossible to work comfortably. This happened pretty quickly to the shoe because I brought them about 6 months ago. Very disappointed in this because he liked the style and I had confidence in the brand.

wouldn't buy again
14 January 2024

I bought these for work. I need steel toed shoes. these look good but the fit is all wrong. They have cushioning inside that is too soft. The cushioning makes it hard to slip your feet inside. Then it just sort of squishes between your toes and around the foot. The shoes dig in around my ankle all day long. The very best thing about these shoes is taking them off at the end of the day. I waited awhile to rate them thinking that they may take a while to break-in. But if they shouldn't take longer then 3 weeks. I will definitely not buy again.
