I use this drill every day for work as a home inspector. It holds up very well and one charge lasts all week.The forward/reverse lever is in a much better position than on any other small drill/driver I have ever used. I'm not hitting it by accident. It's very comfortable to grip. Plenty of power to loosen screws on electrical panels and tighten screws where needed.More importantly -- SKIL stands by this tool. I had one that stopped charging due to a bad USB port. They just quickly shipped me another one! No hassles or hoops to jump through.

I purchased this driver with a maximum of 35 inch pound of torque, to quickly drive some 20 plus bolts in a Subaru timing chain cover that I was sealing with a fast setting liquid gasket. The application time is only 5 minutes, so I needed to do it quickly. Yet the torque for tightening the bolts is only 56 inch pounds. So I could not use my regular impact driver that would squish all the liquid gasket out before the final torque down. This helped driving all the bolts down quickly enough to the final torque down without squishing all the gasket out and I was then able to sequentially torque the bolts to their final spec.

GREAT tool for the price. Surprising power. I have some easy to do suggestions that should only cost you very little to do: Print 'F' and 'R' or arrows between the switch and the word SKIL so you can see at a glance which direction is selected. Also, the arrows on top are hard to see, especially in dim light. Paint them white. (I did mine with white fingernail polish)

I am happy with the drill overall. It has more power than I expected and is very versatile. There are two things wrong with it however.1. The magnet came out of the bit extension shortly after I began using the drill. Unfortunately, in a senior moment, I mistakenly placed the magnet in the main drill with Krazy glue, instead of the extension. In any case, if you can send me a replacement magnet for the bit extender I would really appreciate it. I cannot use the bit extender without the magnet as the bits keep falling out.2. The second problem is that the switch was installed backwards. Forward, (in), is to the left and backward, (out), is to the right. This is counter intuitive and contrary to the instructions.
It's a really nice little screwdriver. I have to replace a bunch of outlets in our house and got this to speed things up. It's working perfectly. My one complaint keeping it from a 5 would be the microUSB port. Those are pretty terrible long term and I would prefer a more robust port for charging it. But, if you fill out the registration, it bumps it to a 5 year warranty, so if soemthing does happen, I could get a replacement.
I'm liking this little screwdriver a lot. It's surprisingly powerful and feels great in the hand. Its small size lets you use it in tight quarters and the bits that it comes with are the right ones for most jobs. It has a faster RPM than its 3.6 volt cousin I've been using to this point, which is both good and bad. Because of its power and the fact that it doesn't have a clutch, it's easy to over drive small screws, but I'm getting used to it. The fitted case is nicely laid out, but I wish that SKIL had included some slots for four or five small drill bits. That would have really rounded out this capable little tool kit. Overall, I'd recommend this to any DIYer who wants to save time and effort when dealing with small to medium screwdriving jobs.

I ended up screwing a screw into a stud for one of our first projects, and sound-wise I thought it was not boing to make it but it carried on through the stud all the way until buried.- The versatility of the twist from gun shape to straight is awesome.- In pictures it looked like it might be fatter than other cordless screwdrivers (because of the bit holder near the tip) but it wasn't. And the elongated bit holder helps with reach into smaller areas. It's light-weight and has enough power to do a lot of the appliance fixes on the more basic repair jobs I do. I've been very impressed with Skil's new tool line the last few years and this one is no exception. The ability to change from pistol mode to screwdriver mode is very convenient. The pistol mode for a stronger grip and the screwdriver mode for tight spaces and fitting in a tool bag without taking up much space.The only issue I can think of is very small. This is so much better than I expected. It has lots of power came with several drill bits and is like a mini drill. This is great for anybody who has a home or an apartment and needs to do little mine and repairs and things. I had a loose shower handle for months and fixed it in seconds. I felt really silly for having waited this long to Get a tool to fix it myself. I almost paid somebody to come in and fix my shower handle. This makes me wanna do a lot more things around the house myself.
This Skil Rechargeable screwdriver is a winner. Long lasting and powerful due to a long life Lithium battery. The only improvement for this tool would be to get rid of the thumb switch which changes the direction of the screwdriver bit. The finger pressure switch should control the direction as well as the speed by making it rock top in to drive the screw and bottom in to back out the screw.
