For years professional athletes who rely heavily on energy bars to fuel themselves in training and racing have complained that the bars they ate were too dry, too hard to chew, sat in their bellies and guts like bricks, and just didn’t taste good. Skratch Labs took that feedback and challenged themselves to make something better, and to help athletes be better. The outcome? The Anytime Energy Bar.

My first thought when I saw the options was Ginger Miso??? hmm not so sure. My first thought after trying it was WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?? The balance of flavors is perfect and satisfying, On a warm day, my body now craves this in the midst of a long workout. The Cherries and Pistachios has a great balance and ease on the palate as does the Chocolate Chip and Almonds. I love that you can see the ingredients and the products are soft. So far they have been perfect nutrition partners on 4+ hour rides and on long hikes. Huge high fives to those at Skratch for coming up with these!!

Crack as an energy bar. That's terrible. Too small too expensive, still addictive. And if you just clocked 30 miles on your bike and you're sick of chocolate meh meh rice sweet whatever--pop this into your maw and follow it with a swig of skratch passion fruit hydration drink. That is like mixing crack with crack and topping it off with sprinkles of crack. It's so addictive and so darn good, it should be illegal. The people at Skratch are evil. Pure evil. Downside is the price of course, and that's the only reason I'm not laying in a gutter with empty Skratch wrappers all around me. Buy some. You'll see what I mean.

These bars are awesome! Definitely not your average old bar (pretty sure I've tried just about every brand and flavor out there). They have the perfect amount of chewiness and crunch from the nuts, the texture is great. The pistachio/cherry was just slightly sweet, not overpowering. I wasn't sure what I would think of the ginger/miso - sounds a little strange, right? They are FANTASTIC. Perfect amount of savory with a little bit of spice. I will definitely be stocking up on both of these! The chocolate/almond was also tasty, but I definitely liked the more unique flavors of the others the best. Great fuel option during outdoor adventures, and also a great thing to have on hand for travel or my long work shifts. A+ with these, Skratch!!

This is my go-to bar when I'm looking for a filling snack or quality fuel for the longer days on the bike. It isn't dry and won't crumble, making it easy to handle and eat when on the bike. There is a lot of taste variation between the different flavors: Chocolate chip + almonds is your classic granola bar, sweet but not overpowering; Cherries + Pistachios is a nice break from the regular with the sweetness and a little tartness of cherries paired with the recognizable taste of pistachios; Ginger + Miso is a flavor sensation... initially I didn't think I'd like it, but now I'm hooked. It's a good combination of sweet and savory, with a slight kick of red pepper at the end. Definitely worth a try if you're skeptical (good chance it'll be your favorite!)
I received a triple sample pack of the anytime bars and they were fabulous! Took them on a hike with my kids and we split them up. The two favorites were Chocolate Chip/Almond and Cherries/Pistachios! We didn't experience any tummy troubles, flavor was delish and kids wished we had a bit more. Worth keeping in the car/purse/on the go bag with my active kiddos. Great pick me up. Neither of us enjoyed the Ginger/Miso. The kids and I thought it was a bit "spicy" and bitter. Worth the purchase and quality ingredients. I wish I could choose my variety pack (opting for our top 2 flavors in a box). Looking forward to purchasing a couple boxes of our favorites!
I you haven't tried Skratch bars you will love this product. The ingredients are excellent, and none of their products cause bloating or stomach cramps like many other products. The bars have fueled short and long rides and not only during mountain biking but also when going hiking or similar sport. The bars have a natural and excellent taste. I enjoyed the ginger ingredient in the bars, the pistachios and chocolate are also very tasteful. I will definitely continue buying Skratch Labs products. The gels are amazing too, the powder mix are the best and overall I have no issues during or after my rides. I have used Skratch products for over 2 years when I found them by accident and I have narrowed my products to Skratch Labs. Try the product, you will like it.
I've tried all three and it was hard to pick a favorite. It was a toss up between miso/ginger and cherry/pistachio. The almond/chocolate was good...and it's important to have a strong, steady flavor, but just didnt wow me like the other two. If I had to pick, it would be miso because it's got a higher sodium count (which I need) and it has a bit of a spicy taste to it. I couldn't probably eat the cherry/pistachio more often (like when I'm not racing) because no matter what I'm craving, it works. My husband noticed we're already almost through our initial order so that's a good sign. Looks like we'll need to order in bulk given how we fancy these bars! They're just so gentle on our bellies and taste so good!
I used to loathe eating bars and would always feel guilty after purchasing/eating them. No more! So happy to have tried these and they are indeed the best bars out there. The taste, consistency, and eatability is spot on! Perfect for a day of exercising, hiking, or just sitting around at the office. Was hesitant about the Ginger & Miso but it is a good contrast to the sweet flavors and perfect if you are feeling particularly savory that day. You did it again Skratch Labs. Thanks for rounding out my pantry with clean and real products!
It was great to find products that I have come to trust. Not saying that Australia doesn't have good stuff, just when you are here for a little while to have a company that offers Skratch Labs, along with many others. The process was easier and the price was comparible.
This paddle is so pretty, it's light and feathers in the wind so well. It wiggles a bit at first until it adapts to your stroke, then it takes on a propeller type quality (slighly twisted). Perhaps like a fountain pen, this means it is not to be shared under any circumstance;) I never tired myself out with this paddle, great for long days and did ok in the choppy stuff - that being said, you wouldn't want to push off with it or be careless with it for even a second (it's just that thin!). It does however have a built in protective tip. I had a spare for the rough stuff (but switched back as soon as it was ok - because it's my Precious and makes me feel like Kitchikewana's princess). To avoid gollum-like behaviour keep your eye on it on portage...feel free however to ... MoreThis paddle is so pretty, it's light and feathers in the wind so well. I will probably give it a bit of a re-finish with some linseed oil in the coming weeks, and might see about some laser engraving to personalize.I didn't do too much solo stuff with it this trip, but a quick test in calm water showed me how precise it would be as it slices through the water.I was on a budget but would have loved to have tried the birdseye maple version. You should get one of each!
