This review is for the whole experience, not just the ST+ (which works great BTW). I have a strange shaped ceiling on my 3rd floor and was concerned about the space requirements for a sim. Joe(Indoor Golf) and I worked together over a week passing diagrams back and forth. We settled on a plan to use the DIY enclosure (roughly same size as SIG10) but modifying by dropping height 2” to accommodate ceiling angles. Everything arrived quick, assembly and config was easy. Up and hitting a couple hours after opening boxes. Thanks!

Love the new Skytrak Plus, For my garage set up it was really only one of two options since all the equipment in my garage seemed to interfere with radar based launch monitors, which I tried. The new updates to the monitor and the software makes it enjoyable to use. That being said the price tag was the only thing that held me back from purchasing it first. It was the price that caused me to try other options first, however, since they didn't work inside my garage I was forced to spend the extra money if I wanted accurate readings. Other than that I highly recommend it.

I really like the sky track when it’s working properly. I’m having a hard time keeping the sim in network mode. For some reason it keeps on forgetting my wifi network, so I have to keep resetting it whenever I launch the sky track. I followed all of the trouble shooting guides from the websites and sim forums, but I haven’t figured it out yet. Maybe there is something wrong with the configuration with my Verizon router or my google mesh system. Either way, I’ve been using it mostly in direct mode and it’s been fun just hitting the range. Hopefully I’ll get it working in network mode and I’ll be able to play a course or two.

Had the original SkyTrak. A.ways worked well. Us3d exclusively outdoors with never an issue, despite what others may have read. Very occasional non read maybe 1 in 40. This works about as well, exclusively outdoors. It may miss as occasionally as the first gen, if not slightly more, so that is a little frustrating that it is the same or worse. Other than that, love the club data addio al information and everything else is good. Love the minimal space requirements and iPad compatibly. Battery last a very long time and software is easy to use but has a lot of features for good practice. I’d recommend it, but it is not a must upgrade over the original.
About every 10 to 15 minutes it disconnects from my iPAD and I can't figure out why. It says it keeps reading a vpn, but I dont have any VPN on the iPAD and keep checking to see if one is on. If done both direct and network connection and both seem to cause the issue. When it stays connected, its been a blast. But I cant play a round because it completely disconnects. I cant even get through a bag mapping. Hoping that switching to a PC connection will stabilize it. I have great internet speed, I game on WIFI so I dont believe its related to that.
After about 3 weeks, in general I find it amazing, but some aspects not so good. It was a rough start, but Skytrak tech support was very responsive and replaced the defective unit quickly. Mis-reads are the biggest issue; especially if you don't hit it flush. Very disappointing that WGT only allows one local player; makes it useless for me. Connection is a bit flaky; sometimes it takes several minutes to finally connect, or will only connect in direct mode first; and then it can lose the connection during play (could be my internet, but I don't know why it would be). E6 works great (I am using iPad), and the Skytrak software and features are nice.
I decided to support PlayBetter despite having dozens of options. Unfortunately, I was sent a used item. The inside of the box was ripped in all four corners. There was no plastic on the item. Film had already removed. I dont know why the SkyTrak+ had been returned, seems to be working okay. I dont want to be without a launch monitor for the time it would take to send back, but obviously not happy with Play Better for sending a used machine and charging me full price. Really disappointed, might have as well just bought from SkyTrak directly.
I received the unit, struggled with connection issues for 2 weeks, felt like I sorted those out, purchased the play and improve subscription, played 4 holes of E6 connect, and the unit died. I verified through GolfTec that the power something or another was faulty.I am so glad that I bought it through play better.com because they are giving me a full refund, but I am apprehensive about trying again. I expected much more for my $3000.When it was working, it worked well. The data seemed accurate. It was a bit difficult to line the thing up, but reasonable. I don't fully believe the side spin numbers...I don't draw or fade the ball 12 yards away from my target on good shots. It might be an accurate measure but the result is over exaggerated in the software. It might be an accurate measure but the result is over exaggerated in the software. Distances seemed correct. Not enough feedback from the unit as to what has gone wrong and lots of things do. Connection issues nearly ever time. The wifi is strong in my garage with 4 out of 5 bars, but skytrak had trouble connecting and staying connected. My computer never did. Switching connection types is near impossible. Should just be a switch to change from USB to direct to network. Should not be difficult. On missed shots, tell us what it didn't like, not enough frames, your legs are too white, not enough or too much light, not enough frames, ball too dirty, what?. Also, I had to put the ball 2 inches behind and 2 inches further away from the dot to get consistent readings, and yes it was level, clean, and no bright back drop (other than my legs). The unit was about 5 degrees open to register straight, all indicating that something was wrong with this particular unit. Maybe Skytrak should send me another to try and then I will recant my statements here if proven false.Driving range and skill challenges were quite fun. Trying to gap my clubs seemed like a good idea too. Shot score seemed to lock in on my longest shots and expected me to hit too far. I know you can throw some out, but the software doesn't make that easy, so I ignored it for the most part. Dynamic handicapping was better when shooting to targets since it used proximity instead of raw distance though scored thin shots as high as good shots...rolling it up to the hole is not the same as sticking it to the pin.Customer service at Golftec and playbetter.com were excellent and I am getting my money back, but it made me think about what happens if this occurred 2 months or even 2 years from now. How much would it cost to fix? Can it even be fixed? I asked Golftec but they have not responded to my inquiry.I am quite certain that this could be a good product, I might even buy another since I don't have anything now. However, in the 20 or so sessions I managed to get out of it, very few were without some sort of hassle getting it connected and figuring out where it wanted me to put the ball. So it is probably a solid 3 stars, but since it broke before I really got to use it very much, I give it only 1 star.If you do buy one of these thing, make sure you use it a lot while it is still under warranty. I know I am happy that I did.
The customer service at Play Better! ST+ a significant spend for me, so when I received it and the battery wasn’t working well I got nervous. PlayBetter made the exchange so fast and easy! Free exchange and they sent the new unit out immediately. Great communication with rapid response. Shout out to Stasia who was so helpful on email. Thank you. Awesome customer service— worry free. Thank you. Now, as for the ST+, I just started using it and I really like it. Compared to the Garmin R10, which I have, the accuracy is better and much fewer missed shots. Side placement to ball (vs 7-8ft behind) works much better with my set up. I have the Play & Game Improvement software which is very good. Lots of options- so much I haven’t used them all yet. So far, excellent investment.
First sim/monitor purchase. I believe data collected is accurate. Overall all 60% happy with device and would recommend with below caveats to know ahead of time but would purchase again as it is so much fun and thus give it three stars. If the sim apps couldn’t play in direct connect mode I would not purchase, but it appears at least on the description it is able to play a few rounds in direct mode but eventually needs to connect to Wi-Fi. My SkyTrak+ is used indoors but can get sunlight through windows certain season and time of day and detection of swing can be less reliable, I would think outdoor use would be the same - depending on direction of sunlight.
