I also find myself looking at people on TV and on the internet and thinking they would make great Lake and Will characters. Slammed was another book that I found myself completely involved in. And I love being involved. I have recommended Slammed to several people while I was reading and now here in my review I will recommend it to ANYONE and EVERYONE looking for a FABULOUS read. Adults and Young Adults will both enjoy Slammed . The romance is perfectly suitable for The YA audience but some of the subject matter is very adult - and not in a bad way. It is adult because of the seriousness of the situations the realness of some of the subjects. Will and Lake's own personal stories are things that could happen to anyone ñ things that unfortunately happen to too many people. I had looked at this book a couple of times and finally bought it in the store when another customer saw me looking and said it was really good. I should of bought it a long time ago. It was amazing!! I couldn't put it down and then I read Point of Retreat too! Both in 2 days!These books were about how real life is. They had ups and downs the good and the bad the amazing and crazy. Reading them was like looking into someone's actual life. If you ever had a time in your life that really sucked then these books are for you.I read alot and its rare that I find a book that I just can't put down. Well Slammed and Point of Retreat fixed that. I have already told people about these books. They are a MUST READ!

I haven't found a Colleen Hoover book that I've read that I didn't rate 5 stars and Slammed was no different! I just can't believe that I've had this book for so long and am just getting around to reading it! A boy meets a girl. Then they fall for each other. Then they find out that Will is a teacher and Layken is a student. A controversial story!!! What's even more heartbreaking is that Layken and her brother lost their father due to a heartattack not that long ago but then finds out that their mother is dying of lung cancer. After some time and advice from her mum, Layken and Will finally give in to their hearts and be together. I love the extra touches of the poems/ words from the Avett Brothers in the book and the poems from Will, Layken and Eddie. A heartbreaking story of anger, grief, guilt, love, loss forgiveness and acceptance.
I only gave this a 4 because I ordered the 3 black books and this one came with a different cover which messed up my ocd. The back of the book came a bit scruffed too so I haven’t read it yet lol
Tbh i think this is the best series i've ever read, slammed was amazing and so was point of retreat, i'm in the middle of reading 'This girl' so i'd 100% recommend the whole series.
Loved this book, beautiful yet sad story line! Full of tragedy and young young! As soon as I finished this book I ran to the store for the next two. Still waiting on the third but loved the concept of her story/ his story! Highly recommend this book felt it was defiantly more for young adults. But still loved it
