Great saw an a "great" price, but indispensable if you work kitchens, specially with 45⁰ corniches and plinths. Will save you some time and I think it will last quite long.Easiness to move and carry is a plus. The other characteristics are the one they advertise, so yes, it is a must.

One of my favourite tools. Accuracy is superb, build quality is superb. Weight and size makes it pretty easy to take around to jobs. Very flexible - ideal for skirting and architrave, also cuts metal very cleanly - like tile trims. Great tool - only small grumble is the dust extraction outlet should have a 90 degree bend on it - probably available after market.

I have now owned 4 mitre saws and all 4 out of the box needed tweeking and all with bed, table misalignment. The KS60 out of the box cuts 90, 45, compound 45 with out having to do any tweeks. The bed, table is dead flat with smooth turning and good positive stops. Dust extraction is fantastic . Weight for transport and design for lifting is good. The angle finder works a treat, saving time on non 90 corners. Shadow light works well but does not come on with trigger, you have to switch on and off. Have seen the comments referring to the handle, trigger not sideways as my other saws were, no big deal its the same as holding your drill, jigsaw, resip, mulitool, could go on but should get my drift. All in all a well designed precision tool. The value of a tool to me is ... MoreI have now owned 4 mitre saws and all 4 out of the box needed tweeking and all with bed, table misalignment. I must have placed this saw in and out of my basket about 50 times before I finally made the purchase. I was struggling to justify the price, as a DIY'er, as a huge fan of Makita and having everything else in my collection be Makita, I really wanted to remain brand loyal. However, I also wanted a saw with a small footprint, especially to the rear, and the shortcomings with the Makita models, with that spec, helped to make my mind up.I am really pleased I wen't down this route. The quality of the build is exceptional and the accuracy right out the box is absolutely perfect.I love that it comes with the bevel (angle finder) which is not mentioned in the description, but I assure you is there, and the elevation feet, to bring it up to the same height as the sys1 ... If you are happy enough with being close enough and using a shooting board to get you to the perfect result, then a much lesser saw may be the choice for you.The price is what it is, but as the old sayings go, pay dear cry once, or, you get what you pay for.I can honestly say I have never been more happy to fork out so much for so little.I am very well pleased and can TRULY RECCOMMEND this saw.
Accurate from the box. Very good dust collection when used with a vacuum. Small footprint due to the sliding rail system. This makes it great for a smaller workshop. This is a vast improvement on my last Mitre Saw. Quiet and powerful.
Extremely well designed and manufactured tool. Just ouzes quality, like all Festool tools. Came out the box all square and ready to go.Nice blade too, cut some melamine faced plywood and there wasn't a sign of chipping. The LED spotlight does show the cut position, but not as clearly as a laser would, but then the lasers need to be adjusted which the spotlight doesn't.Worth paying the extra for if you are a serious user.
Have always had budget-to-average chop and mitre saws in the past and have put up with / worked around the shortcomings fine though, as you do. Finally took the plunge on a decent machine, chose the Kapex 60 after many hours of YT reviews etc and right from the very first cut was 'ok, I get it now'! Very nice indeed. Cuts are perfect (I bought the fine tooth blade with it, but was so impressed with the quality of the standard blade cuts, that while I have fitted the fine one I may not have needed to!) Superb build quality, totally consistent and repeatable cuts. Really like the ability to bypass the stop points and use the bevel gauge, but am also impressed with the accuracy of the stops. Dust extraction is very good, streets ahead of my previous machines. I like ... Dust extraction is very good, streets ahead of my previous machines. I like the shadow light, I was sceptical but it works perfectly and you know its right (unlike the laser on a budget one I've used that was almost 2mm out). Its a pleasure to use, and I really should have bought it a long time ago. I have to pack it away after use, and its usefully compact when packed / in the vehicle. I did fit the raised feet and have used it with a Sys1 for support - a feature I never though I would use but I have! Frustratingly for the wallet, the combination of this and the Domino has given such a confidence in these higher end tools that Ive accidentally replaced my planer and dust extraction too. It appears that Festool tools are a gateway drug to more Festool tools. Highly recommended!
Owned for approx 1 month now. Was slightly disappointed when I first got it as I could cut skirtings vertically due to the blade size (my fault really I didn’t read it properly! So when using the angle finder you have to find the angle, then go back and set the bevel to that angle instead. Easy. When you get used to it. Shadow line is very useful. Angles are spot on.Angle finder is good but I thought it would click into the saw, instead you have to hold it on and it likes to move so can be a bit annoying
Having used many other chop saws over a larger number of years than I can admit I can honestly say the festool kapex ks60 is probably the most accurate and accomplished machines I have had the pleasure to use, it's very smooth in operation and controllable with a large degree of accuracy and a fine cut even with a coarse blade. The Gucci family slogan states "quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten " This is that slogan all over in the flesh. I am reminded that around 20 years ago I paid 500.00 approximately for a festool 55 plunge saw, it is still working today battered but still accurate and strong in performance there is a crack in the casing and I have had several rubber edges on the straight edge but as expensive as it was it is still good today ... One of the best mitre saws on the market without a doubt. Having used the larger KS120 at a friend's workshop and being in the market for a compact mitre saw with quality, reliability and accuracy high on my agenda this was the obvious choice. I did look at the competition closely, including Milwaukee, Bosch, DeWalt etc but this one wins hands down. The power cord is a really good length so hasn't been a problem not being cordless, cuts accurately and like a dream. Spotlight/shadow line is spot on out of the box. Couple of things not mentioned by the website; it comes with the internal/external bevel setting tool which is a very handy item and the table of the saw has extending wings which are useful for longer workpieces. Couple of things not mentioned by the website; it comes with the internal/external bevel setting tool which is a very handy item and the table of the saw has extending wings which are useful for longer workpieces. Also comes with a substantial workpiece clamp and extra feet which raise the saw table to the same height as a sustainer case so that a case can be used to support long workpieces when in the field. My first Festool item, it won't be the last...
