Was really looking forward to a new/heavier set of dumbells since I already have another pair of rubber hex's from SMAI. The day they arrived, I opened them up and while one was clearly brand new, the other was clearly used. It was very dirty, the edges were rounded, and there was a deep gash in the side of it. I emailed SMAI right away with pictures and received a response a day later saying that management had determined that the protective layer had come off and that the deep gash is from where the dumbell had been removed from the mold. I was hoping they would make it right by replacing this used and/or defective product but I was offered a $30 credit and instructions on what to buy myself to repair them instead.Hate to say it since I loved my first pair but ... I just started getting into the whole workout game. The metal weights I used at the gym are so rough on my hands. I am so pleased that the grip on these dumbbells don’t make my hands hurt. I work out with a group of woman…..I’ve told them all to get these! Thank you for making an awesome product.

I’ve been using these SMAI hex dumbbells for a month and so far no complaints. The grip on the handles makes it easier to hold and shift through workouts with ease. Highly recommend for a home-gym starter essential!

Really love these dumbbells. The grip is a game-changer. It's comfortable but really practical, with less chalk needed because it is much less slippery than a metal handle. The grip is also a much nicer feel when you have torn hands and nicer to pick up during those cold winter workouts. We have a set of 12.5kg and 22.5kg in our home gym, and they're perfect for functional/crossfit style workouts as well as for our accessories.
Me and the boys use these hex dumbbells in the garage home gym rep after rep and they’re great with how they look, feel and easy to store. Absolute unit of a dumbbell!
Pretty nice look, soft on the hands and nice on the eyesOnly but is some of the dumbbells seemed to be a bit beat, like it’s been used or pretty beat in transportation
I purchased a pair of 60 kg onesThe workmanship and design on them is amazing. The grip is excellent. I don’t even feel I’m lifting such a heavy weight.Very happy with this and looking to replace my 50 kg ones with these dumbbells too
