Wouldn't use this on a camera or a boom pole but it's great for stationary microphone placement. The elastic is hard and doesn't stretch much. Which is both a good and a bad thing. I bought a handful of these for multi-microphone recording, where the mics were stationary the entire time. Perfect for that application. My shotgun did not stay put in this rig and slide around when handled. Couldn't imagine tracking dialogue with this puppy.

The color of this shock mount is black. Good value and perfect, simple design. Holds my light pencil microphones (sE8) easily.

I tried squeezing the frame as hard as I could and it does not budge. My only critique for not giving this a five star is that the thread at the bottom of the adapter cold shoe is 3/8 instead of 1/4-20, but if you’re going to mount it to a mic stand or arm with 5/8 thread, you’re set. And the only other thing is I don’t see replacement rubber bands in the accessories list here on B&H page. Otherwise I am entirely satisfied with this purchase. For the money, I don’t know what the people who complained that this is plastic were expecting (titanium??), but this is NOT gonna break on anybody anytime soon. This is NOT a paid endorsement. I paid my hard earned money (gladly not much of it) for this produce. Thanks!

It works well, clamps onto my GoPro but it’s to large for my external mic. With the wind sock on my mic I couldn’t pass the mic through both ends of the shock mount. It will still support my mic ?? but not like it should.Customer service was excellent. When it didn’t on time because UPS/USPS couldn’t find it, I was issued a credit to offset the delay and offered to send a replacement. Original item did finally arrive.
No frills. Works as it should. Comes with 4 extra rubber bands. Classic small rig quality.
As someone needing a cheap shockmount that would get the job done, this works for me. That being said, the mount is very plastic-y and I've already snapped one of the bands that holds the mic in place. Thankfully, SmallRig is smart and included extra band in the package so props to them for that. All in all, great for those on a budget needing a simple shockmount.
This is a great low-cost shock mount. I'm using it for a Sennheiser MKE600 and it feels like it was made for it. It also comes with an extra set of bands in case you snap one or loose one. SmallRig to the rescue again!
I'm using my Sennheiser MKH 416 for voiceover work in a studio. I didn't need something built for the rigors of a film/video shoot and I didn't want to pay a lot. This is perfect for that application. It holds the mic securely, doesn't feel cheap and does the job. Came with extra elastics just in case, but I don't foresee needing them for quite a while.
I bought this to pair with a boom pole and my Sony ECM-VG1 microphone. There isn't much to say except that it works perfectly. I suppose the plastic threads feel a little flimsy, but for the price I think it's fine. My main concern was the security of its hold on the mic, and it does that very well. For the money, this is an excellent option.
