A few weeks' use so far. Lots to like - a lightweight (155g) phone, large enough but not oversized, feels very comfortable in the hand; bright, clear screen, responsive performance (no need to use 120 Hz refresh rate for everyday tasks), good audio, fingerprint reader works well. Battery life is fine for my simple needs including email, radio, internet banking and YouTube videos (no gaming), and phone comes with a very fast charger. Can't comment on the camera - not tried yet.

The company claims that its phone can be fully charged in six minutes, But the time is about 30 to 35 minutesThe fingerprint sensor is not working very wellHaving to unlock phone with pin code even after 4 5 times. Also the selfie camera quality is not as good as claimed by the companyThe battery is draining very quickly without lasting very long

Excellent all rounder with 2 day battery life

Moved both me and the Mrs to the Moto Edge 40 pro from a Xiaomi Poco F3. It's like night and day and everything just seems to work. I think the camera is very good and video is excellent. Just had an August patch update. I love the near stock android which works so much better the the Xiaomi MIUI. The phone is very fast and the battery lasts 2 days. Also if I need to charge it takes 15 mins from 20% to 100%... super fast charging. I would recommend a moto based on my personal experience.

Good Mid-range handset which fits in hand well
4 December 2023

This was an upgrade to my Moto G8 Plus (which was slowing due to stuck on Android 10 o/s). Good looking , though screen isn't quite to the 'edge' as name suggest (edge 40 is tho) however I prefer this. Screen size is spot on unlike most "phablets" on the market. Battery life is very good and charging is excellent , even without using the Turbo charger plug. Start up was a bit slow at times which is unusual for a phone 3weeks old. Knocked off one star due to handset heating up when using Google Music with Android Auto and no 3.5mm audio jack input. Have to use a USB-C adapter for headphones peeps.

Good Motorola, terrible battery life, weird smell.

This is my fourth Motorola phone so I knew what to expect in terms of the interface and functionality. The phone was good value as usual but the reason for 3 stars is that I'm very disappointed with the battery. In my experience, a hallmark of Motorola phones is their long battery life. I had thought my old Motorola was starting to lose power faster so I bought this one. The old one still has a longer battery life than the new one however. This phone charges very fast but I put it on charge 3 times a day - it's only a week old! Most new Motorolas last 2 days without a charge when they're brand new so this is particularly disappointing. Side note: The phone and the box it came in had a very strong smell of women's perfume coming off them. Why are you spraying the phones with such a strong smell??? Definitely not anything that could've arose from assembly.

Good, bad, and the ugly .

Good value for money. I prefer the smaller screen(still big), compared to my old phone. Screen is clear, crisp and easy on the eye.Battery is holding well.Moto adaptive brightness is strange. Insisted on minimal brightness during the day, I had to keep increasing it. I prefer slightly less than half. Now, has brightness up during the night, if I wake up and check my phone.Screen wakes up for alarm notification, 2 hours, and 30 minutes before the alarm, I can't switch it off. That's probably android thing. If I forget the phone next to me, light wakes me up.Rounded edgeless screens are bad, it is a bizarre trend, please give up on that. It is also a bad UX when i have to move a slider that goes to the edge. Phone is also very slippery, dropped it 5 times ... MoreGood value for money. I would consider my next phone to be Motorola, too.

Great "compact" phone
5 October 2023

Grabbed this bargain for E250 and love it. I wanted to downsize to a phone that felt more comfortable in one hand and this fits the bill. It's light and snappy and great value. Cameras are a little less than my previous phone but that's to be expected when moving from a flagship to a more budget phone. But don't get me wrong, they are still good. I was a little disappointed that the phone didn't have a preinstalled clear screen protector, just a Motorola sticker. But it's just a minor fault. Overall I am super happy.

Great feature set
4 July 2024

very good camera, great screen, fast processor. It has the nice Motorola quirks of the twist camera launch and the light gesture. Huge 1Tb storage is awesome. Only weakpoint is smallish battery, but it comes with a very fast 125W charger and goes from 20%-80% in minutes. We have 2 now, replacing Pixel 7pro and mot edge 20pro

Great value and reliable
22 November 2023

I think this is a really fantastic phone, my first Motorola smartphone. As a novice I appreciate the on screen pop up tips to help get the best out of different features. All the work is done for you, with easy to use texting, great layout for contacts. The speed is more than I've previously experienced, a highly detailed camera and excellent sound. Another plus is that this phone looks after your security, as a suspected spam call was alerted, giving the choice to answer or not. Still lots to learn, but loving it.

She who must be obeyed got the Motorola Neo
26 January 2024

Bought as an upgrade for my better half's older Motorola Hyper. She could have had any phone but likes Motorola as has been using them for years. This Edge 40 Neo is just the same to operate not much new to her. Battery life is not as good as her old phone, curved screen has not caused any problems. Purchased through Lenovo at a great price.
