I bought this with lot of expectations as my kenwood blender died out Did a lot of study between kitchen aid and Smeg and went for Smeg seeing its features but was really disappointed. The normal dough making the small dry dough stays at the bottom even till the end. The spool it not able to reach or mix it always have to mix it manually. Poor bowel design. Also the steel bowel is not of good high quality compared to its price tag It looks very light weight and inner lining is not smooth as if of Kmart quality Within 2 months of used now the bowel locks out of its base while making dough as the groove is. Very shallow comparatively to hold it suggesting poor design again How Smeg got five star is just for looks. I love how pretty this blender is. It goes so well with my kitchen aesthetic. It’s a pretty good blender, but not the best. The blades are sharp and it’s durable. It’s also easy to blend a number of different things, such a smoothies, soups, purées, cold drinks etc. It’s not the most noisy blender, but also not the most powerful.

1. This blender is as loud as it is powerful. Of course you won't have to run it very long to get your desired results. Definitely worth the trade off of noise to power in my opinion but still a consideration depending on your living situation.2. Make sure you leave the lid on while pouring/open the pouring tab to serve. The blade isn't locked in place and will come out easily if the lid is off. This is by design and very convenient for cleaning. Alternatively if you must remove the lid for some reason, gently remove the blade by hand before pouring.3. The container/blade/lid are all dishwasher safe, but according to the manual the blade and lid need to go in the top rack. My dishwasher test was based on this and it came out just fine.Would definitely recommend this ... More1. This blender is as loud as it is powerful. As a mom, I love my Smeg Blender in pastel blue! It's not just gorgeous (adds a pop of color to my counter!), it's powerful with four speeds and tackles anything from smoothies to baby food. Plus, it's easy to clean and safe with a soft-start function. Sure, it's pricier, but it's a worthwhile investment for a busy mom like me.
This blender functions best when unplugged, sitting on the wall. That is assuming of course, it is an absurdly expensive piece of industrial wall decor, and not a blender - although at first this assumption may seem silly, after purchasing this it’s plainly apparent this is how this ‘appliance’ should be classified. It’s utter junk, and is useless and terrible at blending anything hard, or frozen. It will not blend ice. When I first purchased this, I brought it home to discover the blender I was sold actually DID NOT WORK AT ALL (after filling the whole thing up with smoothie ingredients, which then had to be thrown out). I took it back and was told it was due to an electrical fault, and it indeed would not turn on, and I was sold a dud. That was the first red flag. ... MoreThis blender functions best when unplugged, sitting on the wall. I took it back and was told it was due to an electrical fault, and it indeed would not turn on, and I was sold a dud. That was the first red flag. I then had it replaced, however have had several issues with this blender. Firstly, whenever it is used liquid will seep into the underside/blade section. Although the blade is designed to be removed, the only way to clean the base is actually to fully unscrew and disassemble the appliance. This may be hard to understand without viewing the blender, but trust me you will be quickly familiarised with this issue after purchasing. It makes the base look extremely unhygienic, with small bits of food and liquid trapped under the plastic base. It’s also impossible to address this issue or clean it without damaging the appliance, and is a complete design flaw and oversight on the part of Smeg. Apart from this, after having the blender only 6 months the engine makes a loud spinning sound after being used, and smells of burning rubber. The blending power is very low, and the blade itself has wear and warping to the plastic around it. After reading reviews of Smeg’s fridges and other appliances, i’m not at all surprised how utterly terrible this blender is. The trick to enjoying this blender, is to print off a photo and delicately tack it to your kitchen wall. Then, go buy another blender - any one will do, and look at the photo if you ever feel a devilish urge to waste your money on trash.
It’s one fancy Smeg brand that’s worth the expense! I’ve had it for about couple years. Don’t use it regularly (also own a mini/ small blender for more regular usage), but I don’t think it would break! Besides the look, I like it’s locking/ unlocking feature of the blade base. It’s a bit noisy, but that might be because it’s a powerful machine! Easy to clean. Looks good coming out of the dishwasher. The Smeg blender definitely looks beautiful if displayed on the counter. Mine is cream color. Eye catching. I bought it for over $100 less than the original price on some year-end holiday sale. So it’s a steal!
I purchased this blender from Littlewoods and I am glad that I did. Not only is it beautiful to look at it also whizzes through fruit and ice cubes alike to make great smoothies. I was finding that I had left over fruit and did not want to wast any of it. So I thought it would be a good idea to make the fruit into healthy smoothies and fruit drinks. I have been trying different combination of fruits since the blender arrived. I was unsure which colour of blender to choose I decided to go for the pink to add a pop of colour to my kitchen. I find it is a very useful addition to my kitchen, it can even be used to whip cream. Easy ordering and delivery from Littlewoods
I was really excited when my husband bought this as a gift last year in pastel green. I love the Smeg fifties look and the colour looked great in our 'cabbage white' kitchen - it is very glossy too. However, after just a couple of weeks of daily smoothie making, the numbers on the dial rubbed off completely! JL were great and exchanged it free of charge for an identical one. I was so paranoid with the new one that I barely touched the number part of the dial when switching on/off or turning it up or down. I was also extra careful to wipe spills immediately with soft dry tissue as the numbers are only painted on and if they were to disappear again would make operating the machine pretty awkward. One year later, despite the precautions, i gingerly wiped a splatter ... MoreI was really excited when my husband bought this as a gift last year in pastel green. I was also extra careful to wipe spills immediately with soft dry tissue as the numbers are only painted on and if they were to disappear again would make operating the machine pretty awkward. One year later, despite the precautions, i gingerly wiped a splatter from the number dial and the whole of the number 1 was gone. I know this isn't wear and tear because like last time was a case of the entire digit disappearing in a single wipe rather than a gradually wearing down. Its almost as though they have painted the numbers on with poster paint. This being the second time it's happened - and with all my paranoid precautions (my toaster doesn't need kid gloves like this!) I'm certain that this is a design flaw. Also, the seal around the top of the lid traps moisture against the plastic and it is phenomenally hard to reach behind to clean effectively which leads to long term discolouration.
I'm a big fan of Smeg and even own their very expensive Dolce & Gabbana range. When my trusty Magimix blender finally pulsed its last, I replaced it with a Smeg without hesitation. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that while it proclaimed DESIGNED IN ITALY, a smaller line below that said Made in PRC. It didn't take me long to figure out that PRC stood for the People's Republic of China - a feeble attempt by Smeg to downplay the country of origin. The blending jug is made of plastic, the base is tinny and the motor offers very few options compared to other machines. Shame on Smeg for palming off a product so far below their usual standard to their loyal customers. Almost anyone of the blenders on Yuppiechef offers better quality - and at a lower price.
Brilliant. Easy to use no leaks and love the way you unlock the blades for easy clean . The plastic jug looks just like glass. I am very pleased after looking at many others i know for sure made the best choice. And enjoyed my milkshake. xx
