If you want to buy this kettle, you must keep the recipe at least for a year.Cause you will see BUBBLES grow around cap and spout and they don't want to do any customer service without it.They indicated ‘Manufacturer's 1-year limited warranty’ but they required the recipe of purchase. Some ppl buy with cash and don’t keep the recipe if they want to keep it.This bubble things happened by manufacture issue not by purchase issue.And I am sure there is no knock off SMEG out there. Wherever I buy SMEG it’s from SMEGIt definitely not worth it for the price. You could buy even better quality with 30bucks.

I was back and forth trying to decide whether to purchase this little cutie. The price was a little off putting for me. And then I couldn't decide on the white or the blue. I had some Crate and Barrel dollars, so I impulsively pulled the trigger on the blue mini kettle. When I took it out of the box, it took my breath away. It is the most gorgeous powdery, soft baby blue. I immediately set it up and boiled four pots of water so that I could start using it. This little cutie is going to take up residence on my kitchen island. I love her so much I just might give her a name. By the way, it literally took less than two minutes to boil a full pot of water. If you are on the fence, just order it. You won't regret it. Bye-bye microwave!

Beware that this jug is really only a 2 - 3 cup of tea jug. It is smaller on the inside than it looks on the outside. Having said that, there is only 2 of us in the house so it is the perfect size for us. We live in a small apartment and the full size jug we had looked huge and we only ever filled it half way. Also because our kitchen and living room is open plan, I love that it is stylish and I can leave it out all the time and it is part of the decor.

Pros: Perfect size for my family of 5.. holds enough water to make 3/4 cups of tea from one boil. Light weight so easy to carry and pour (especially important for someone who is elderly, disabled or requires a small light weight kettle perhaps) and overall looks extremely cute! I love itCons: If I were to pick any improvements (which is hard really) maybe to be able to see how full the kettle is from the outside and/or have a more prominent marking inside the kettle where the max mark is.currently, as someone who cannot see too well would really struggle with seeing that. That's the only thing I can say needs improvement honestly
The kettle look great and goes really well with matching coffee maker and toaster. However, it’s really hard to lift the lid so been filling through the spout which is not ideal. The lid on the larger kettle looks lot better design where the button in the middle is pressed and the lid lifts automatically. Pulled the lid today and the the top part of the lid came completely off. Unable to fit it back correctly and steam now comes out the lid when boiling so is unsafe to use. Looks great though and ideal size so think I was just unlucky getting one with a very sticky lid,
I got this in pink for a dear friend's birthday. She is obsessed with Smeg. She loves it, and heats up water just to hear its enchanting sound when the water is ready. She mainly uses this for her pour-over coffee, but it works for soups, tea and cocoa, too. This darling kettle is one appliance you don't mind leaving on the countertop; it's never "clutter"!
We had this on our wedding registry. It is cute. That's it. There is no luxury feel. There is no functionality. The lid is difficult to open. The "stay-cool" plastic siding is still plastic and will not age well. Our previous kettle was made of glass, and the only problem with that is you can see instantly the Sydney water creates burn marks where the elements contact the base. The problem is easily solved with a cycle of boiling a vinegar water mix, but there is of course durations of ambiguous and indeterminate duration between these renewals where the kettle is not quite dirty enough to be cleaned, but not completely without spoil. With a glass kettle you have no choice but to make this assessment each and every time you engage with the apparatus. With the Smeg Mini Kettle Black while not avoiding such ambiguity, at least hiding it and making it an opt-in experience.This kettle is expensive, yes, but using price as a stumbling stone one can learn to cultivate new curatorial approaches to purchasing habits. It is very often the arbitrary and thoughtless process of consumership if left unchecked can lead to disastrous consequences for ourselves and the planet. Don't be that person who buys a new cheap kettle every few years, as the price may be cheap but the manufacturing impact is the same. Therefore finally, and I think this most timely bookend to this review, is to talk about the colour. Nobody need bother calling the kettle black, it most clearly and demonstrably is.

Why did I wait so long? Have been looking at this mini kettle for a very long time. I couldn't rationalize the cost and ended up purchasing another brand. It worked but the look just wasn't as cute. I finally caved, purchased this one and so happy with my little kettle. It brings water to a boil much faster than my other one and looks MUCH cuter setting out on my counter. So?! I'm out the money spent on the first. I'll figure out what do do with it later. For now, I'm so pleased with this purchase.
