Best purchase of 2018 - no more runny nose

I rely on my eyes to make a living and recently I had a small bug nail me in the eye while riding down a fire road and then the next week a pebble hit me in the face right next to my eye. In both cases, I was wearing my glasses which clearly offer little protection. I decided that I better do something before I have a career-ending injury. I researched MTB goggles and it seemed like a lot of pro enduro riders liked the Smith googles so I went with them and found a great deal at Jenson. I wear thin, titanium-arm glasses and not only do they fit comfortably with the goggles on (even on long rides), but the glasses now stay in place better. The best thing, however, has been the end of my problem with watery eyes and the associated runny nose and constant sniffles. I have had no problems with lens fogging going up hills either. Actually, I just leave the goggles on for the whole ride. I did try buying the prescription inserts, to use instead of my glasses, but they flexed too much and it caused a fisheye distortion that made the trail seem further away, so I just went back to my regular glasses and I’m very happy. The giggle strap is a wide, soft, adjustable elastic that fits well under a helmet or over it. I like the fit with the strap over the back of the helmet and it’s not too tight. I’ve had no issues with the strap sliding off either. I would highly recommend goggles for any MTB riding and I would also recommend the Smith goggles which are very comfortable and high quality.

Breathes and fits well.

Fits well in my iXS Trigger FF. The breathability is good and the foam really keeps the sweet out of my eyes. The extra clear lens is nice for the overcast days. They are nice for the cooler spring and fall days, but will probably be too much for the summer unless shuttling.

I have a flatter nose and usually have a hard time fitting non asian fitted goggle but these fit perfectly and never moved out of place or slid down my cheeks during the rockiest of trails. The chromapop lenses were excellent and made the drastic changes in lighting bareable and literally made things pop out of the shadey areas. The seals work great and venting was superior to other goggles ive owned, no dust or fog ever disturbed my vision.Build quality is excellent, no flaws. Decent goggles, with some flaws.

The good:lens clarityfitcostThe bad:Fogs up easily, like it'll be barely overcast out and I can't wear these.Swapping lenses is a serious PITA. Seriously Smith, you need to come up with a better lens-swap mechanism. Not that it matters 'cause half the time when trying to use them in low-light/overcast conditions they just fog up and I end up with them strapped to the back of my helmet anyway. Should probably just leave the full-sun lenses in all the time, and wear glasses on overcast days.

Enhanced Mountain Biking Experience with Smith Squad XL MTB
9 May 2023

The Smith Squad XL MTB Goggles are amazing for the price. The ChromaPop lens provides clear and vibrant colors, while the wide lens and sweat management system make sure that I have a clear view of the trail even during sweaty rides. The fit is comfortable and secure, and I'd definitely recommend them to any mountain biker who wants high-performing, comfortable, and stylish goggles under $100.

Excellent Goggles

I love these. The lens quality is exceptional. The clarity and contrast provided by these goggles are unmatched. I was able to see every detail of the snowy terrain, even in challenging lighting conditions. The anti-fog coating worked like a charm, ensuring clear vision throughout my entire day on the slopes. Comfort is key when it comes to goggles, and these delivered in spades. The fit is perfect, thanks to the adjustable straps and foam padding that molds comfortably to my face. I never experienced any discomfort or pressure points, even after hours of wear. Plus, the goggles stayed securely in place, allowing me to focus on my skiing without any distractions. I appreciate the attention to detail and the high-quality materials used in their construction. Lastly, the style of these goggles is top-notch. They have a sleek, modern design that garnered compliments from my fellow skiers. It's always a bonus to look good while enjoying your favorite winter activities!

Great, even at non-lift assisted speeds

Have you ever spent a day or two trying to get something out of your eye that you got on a ride? I have, and it's uncomfortable. I was tired of getting stuff in my eyes several times a week (I ride almost every day). Riding glasses would have worked fine, but inevitably wound up with streams of sweat, from my head, running down the lenses--I couldn't see out of them very well by the end of the ride. I stopped wearing them. I had to figure something out.The Smith Squad MTB goggles are dramatically ventilated all the way around. I do feel a little silly riding around with goggles on (I usually think of goggles for high speed only), but they do the job and DO NOT get obscured with sweat or fog. One of the best enjoyment-of-ride purchases I've made in a long time. Wish I'd have done it years ago.Goggles, not just for DH & Enduro EWS anymore!

Love these
5 August 2022

Comfortable and the color is beautiful! Lots of venting. Fit really well with my Troy Lee Stage helmet They did fog up on me but it was only when I stopped riding. Full disclosure I was in Bentonville July heat & humidity. 90 degrees, 10000% humidity with scattered showers. Everything was... (dare I say it).... moist. As soon as I started riding, they cleared up.

Perfect fit with my Smith Mainline Helmet
21 June 2023

I bought this to pair with a Smith Mainline helmet. They go together like peas and carrots. It allows enough airflow to prevent fogging. The lenses are super sharp. I’m now ready to shred some bike parks without fear of burning out my retinas.

XL ChromaPop is the best
7 August 2022

I upgraded to the xl from the regular Squad goggles as these ones fit my POC ff better than the regular size. I absolutely love the ChromaPop lenses are awesome. The trail terrain is easier to see and I never have any issues with glare. The vents help clear out any fog that occurs and it cools your face off a little also without drying your eyes out or letting dust in.
